I am saddened to hear of this young woman's passing. I don't recall ever having the opportunity to interact with her on here, yet I feel a sense of loss due to Rachel being a part of this community of ours.
May the good Lord hold her, now and forever, in eternal rest. May all her loved ones also be comforted in this tender time.
In fellow mourning,
Adam.

Why all the good people have to pass away like this? I'm honestly shocked by this... and also very sad. I never met Rachel as a person, but I'm positive that she's in a better place now. My condolences to her family and friends... with all my heart.

I am extremely saddened to hear this. While I didn't know her besides her posting here and her contributions to Dolphin, she seemed like a fantastic person.
My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Wow, that came absolutely out of nowhere. At such a young age (23), too.
I know she had been an incredibly productive and passionate programmer for Dolphin who did a ton of work to get Dolphin's TAS tools. Without her, we likely would not have had Wii TASing right now.
Her activity on Dolphin development will certainly be missed.
RIP

<adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.
fuck... I can't believe it happened, she was so kind, she helped me so much with my errors on Dolphin, and she died...
RIP... :(

Does anyone know how?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
Probably suicide, her skype mood says "On April 23rd Rachel decided she could no longer live with the pain she endured on a daily basis and took her own life. This isn't a joke."

that news is heartbreaking, a tragic and too sudden loss for the comunity...
i wish i knew her a little more...
may you find the peace you sought and may you continue to live through our memories...
I've been suicidal before, but thankfully I had love and support from a decent-sized extended family, as well as professional counseling, to help me pull through it.
I guess RachelB didn't have that kind of support. Rest in peace, dear. Show those schmucks in Heaven Above the patience and resolve of a TAS author / emulator developer.
This is so sad. I saw her post often and wasn't aware of any negative thoughts she may have had. If anyone here is contemplating suicide please reach out to any of your friends for help. We don't want to lose anyone. :(
Why so much cry? Some people are weak-willed about things. She made her decision and followed through.
Did she have terminal illness or long-term intense pain? No?
Seems some posters here care more for their sake than hers.
No way :(
I dind't know her well (never had a direct interaction with her as far as I remember), but I know that she was always helping people on IRC or the forums when people needed help with Dolphin, for example.
Goodbye, Rachel.

I never knew hew, but I observed her progress from being completely unexperienced to being a very active Dolphin developer.
Goodbye Rachel, we will certainly miss you.

I did a quick search and came up with this article, may or may not be our Rachel Bryk (but looks like her). If it is her it sounds like she's had a traumatic past and make have slid back into depression:
http://blog.timesunion.com/payitforward/rachel-bryk-speaks-out/2413/EDIT: Well the ages don't add up, unless the article was posted 2 years after the interview.
Either way, this is very sad and I hope Pheenoh and some of her closer friends are doing ok :(. Her and I playfully argued over musical tastes in Pheenoh's chat a few times, she seemed like a cool young woman.
^ what TASeditor says. Not mentioning medical "helplessness", taking (prescripted) pills to have less energy/concentration instead of curing the problem or going to physiatrists for a life-time to feed him/her money while he is solving crosswords.

As I know a girl in IT and suffering suicidal thoughts, I feel concerned although I don't know what can I do to help her quit this sad mood.
My condolences to those who were close to RachelB.
