Hey, what you all are doing? Optimizing png images one by one? Why not just to run optipng on *.png on the server side?

NO. Because the game deliberately shows the screen like that during gameplay. There are a few other games (which have been TASed) which does this too. So I'm against not showing a native screen to the game. Also, there's your reason feos.

Wasted my time then. That is not true at all, if that was true, all Sonic.screenshots would look like that to begin with (aka. Blurry and incorrectly colored).

Constructive advice, Spikestuff: It would really benefit you to learn to conduct yourself more respectfully towards others. Responding to Kurabu's question didn't require typing NO in all caps and bold. That comes off like you're responding in anger/annoyance. Your explanation was reason enough (that, and he asked politely). And the condescending remark was completely unnecessary.

And all GBC games would be looking washed out and not bright.

New one is nicer. How did you make it different?

Just took the pic with VBA and compressed it and that's it. The pic weight was 12.4 kb, But I compressed it to 5.8 kb. The VBA settings were set to default (all of them), only that.

I think Kurabupengin was asking you to replace the GBA Dragon Ball screenshot, not the Power Rangers one, but accidentally said "your" instead of "my". It sounds like both the old and new screenshots are compressed, and this one was compressed even better. The bolder colors and different skin tones look like an improvement too. I'm all for this one replacing the current Dragon Ball screenshot.

He said "your" because Spikestuff compressed the image further

Ah, okay, that makes even more sense. Is there any reason Spikestuff's Dragon Ball screenshot shouldn't replace the current one?

I have replaced the screenshot. Looks like the old one was over 14 KB, so this is a big improvement in size.

Looks great, Kurabupengin! I replaced the old 20(!) KB screenshot with your 6.57 KB one.

...and I replaced that with a 6.54kb one. Yup, the whole thing was a misunderstanding from earlier. Updated the DB one too with my smaller one.

Thanks, Spikestuff. What did you do to compress it further?

If you mean the screenshots that look blurry, then let me say that they look like that because of a restriction of the site to publish screenshots in specific resolutions. Since SotN uses a different size during gameplay than the restricted 320x240, we have to resize it in order to publish the submission at all.

I ran two sets of 100 trials of ScreenshotCompress but was only able to compress this one 7 more bytes, which probably isn't significant enough to justify replacing the screenshot. Its colors should also be "accurate", as this is the palette used by the current BizHawk/Gambatte (to simulate the GBC's).
