I'm pretty sure it's optimised, but any reason you only did ~400 rerecords for 40k frames xD ? But I'm shutting up, want to watch the WIP before commentating :P
Current: Rayman 3 maybe? idk xD Paused: N64 Rayman 2 (with Funnyhair) GBA SMA 4 : E Reader (With TehSeven) TASVideos is like a quicksand, you get in, but you cannot quit the sand

I don’t know if it cost you time but at 1:01 you took too many beads. At 0:57 when you get on top of the ladder, have you tried attacking that chest to gain height instead of climbing the ladder? If you don’t know what I mean with attacking to gain height, it’s used in the Carrie’s Transport Fountain Gardens strategy to do the last jump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPpAUb5yGk8 Other than that it looks surprisingly optimized.

I think the rerecord count is low cuz I'm using a really old version of Dolphin. After all, 4.0.2 is the more updated version I can use.

Why are you starting all these TASes and never finishing almost any? :P

dunno. I like to try new stuff. If I like it too much, I'll continue, if I don't like it or the emu fucks up stuff I pause or sometimes I just quit. This game and Club Penguin DS are the only games that are BIG projects that I do want to finish.

Just by eye-ing the times on youtube it looks like: LEVEL 1 :38 - 1:17 (:39) [TAS] :50 - 1:29 (:39) [WR] Level 2 1:14 - 2:48 (1:34) [TAS] 3:10 - 4:44 (1:34) [WR] At 2:37 in your level 2, can you not start hitting the big wall sooner? also can you start jumping earlier to make it up over the wall quicker? I feel like the time you have when you're that big giant kirby tank, you should be doing something more entertaining, like firing off at all those flying things instead of running into them and rolling forward

I have to be aware to avoid getting contact with the missiles to not get a hit, so I have to shoot one missile before shooting the big wall. (Although it could be helpful to hit it earlier though) I know that the tank is not too entertaining to watch, but I can do that later on in the game if you want, also the bosses can have some tradeoffs too I guess.

Yeah it would be good to make things more entertaining as much as possible in dead zones (like tank portions), during real-time speedruns thats avoided cause you don't want to show-off.. TASing you can't make mistakes so you can make everything as exciting as you want and redo it if you mess up. I only say this because so far with the time difference most likely being a few hundred frames between you and the WR, we could get the same amusement just watching the WR if there is nothing extra to entertain us.

Sorry I was just thinking on that. My jumps are timed, so I tried my best at not collecting too many beads like the WR did. The chest makes me lose time, after all, attacking it will cause me to get the furniture item, without attacking it too, I can't reach that high to the platform anyways.

But the WR takes less beads than you do in that place, that’s why I said you take too many.

I see, that makes sense. I just watched the second encode. Is diagonal speed not detrimental to horizontal speed in this game? There are a few places where you go uphill/downhill where you could’ve jumped to stay more horizontal, but I don’t know if that’s faster in this game. In the tank portion it looked like the jumps could’ve been done sooner, and the last big wall should probably be hit sooner like solarplex said.

I don't really think that it affects my X speed. My Y position changes, but it's unlikely that my horizontal speed does too. But, I don't know if I can get necesary height early, I shoot the last missile and that delays my chances to hover early due to the few frames that I cannot shoot or jump after I shoot a missile.

^So you can’t shoot and jump at the same time, or jump then shoot? Don’t know if this would be faster, just asking. And what about those beads, shouldn’t you edit that part to take less like the WR does? I don’t think this game has much RNG so it’s probably hex-friendly.

Hex_wat? Sorry, I have no idea what's that. But if it does not affect the later inputs, i'm fine.

Hex-editing means opening the movie file in a text editor and editing the input so you don’t have to re-TAS everything. So you can re-TAS the beads in the first level and then copy-paste from the full movie the input that comes after with a text editor. http://tasvideos.org/InputFileEditing.html I don’t know if it’s possible in Dolphin though.

If it's GameCube controller, it's possible, if it's Wii, it's probably not possible, if I remember correctly, offsets are random :p

A small update: I'm making stage 3, but I paused again due to 2 projects I'm making, so... It will be finished later than expected.

ANOTHER UPDATE: because of the news about deprecating old Dolphin runs, I'm forced to restart this big project on a newer Dolphin version... the problem about that is that no other version besides 4.0.2 and 4.0-146 works on my shitty ass PC, so I'm basically fucked. I can't afford a new PC, so don't even bring that up. My only other alternative is to continue on 4.0.2, but I don't know how that will turn out...

It's clear you've been working on the run long before the announcement. You'll get a continuance. Just keep goin', yo.

You still have a rather large list of things in your todo list. If I were you I'd TAS the ones your computer can handle first, then hopefully by the time you're done with them you can afford a non win xp computer.
