What are some good games for a beginner to TAS? Preferably a NES game cause they are fairly simple, but I also would very much like to TAS a game that haven't been TASed before or haven't been TASed by a lot of people. Suggest something and I'll see if I can find something to TAS.

Honestly? A game you're already experienced with. If you're both learning how to play the game well AND how to TAS at the same time they both kind of get in the way of each other. And set achievable goals, like making a TAS that looks cool and mistake-free, before worrying about going perfectionist on it.

Most people I see start out with Super Mario Bros.

TAS the games that you like and that you want to see TASed.

I tried to TAS many games, but found myself successful only with Sonic the Hedgehog. Why? Because I knew this game very well. So I completely agree with Patashu — being familiar with the game helps really a lot.

I picked shinobi 3 and mortal kombat 2, cos i've played them both to death....that said, sonic games are easy to play normally....but i'm finding them very hard to TAS play, i'm all ears on this note.

Hey.. I'm new to this and I've seen lots of vids on tas.. I want to do a KOF, FF one since those are the games I love to play.. What's the first thing I do? I already have ROMs do I just get the emu of this site and start testing? Are their NG ROMs already in this emu? What happens first?

What system(s) are the games you want to try TASing on?

If you're not already in the emulation scene, it's going to be a lot harder to get started. There's not much we can legally say about acquiring ROMs, but they're not included with the emulator. You'll have to find them yourself.

Here is a good game to TAS for a beginner, the PCE version of The Ninja Warriors. If you are interested, feel free to join the project. I don't know how actively I'll be doing it, so all help would be nice.

You'll want to download the latest version of FBA-RR. It doesn't come with ROMs so you'll want to have yours already. Then you can start testing and TASing.

Here is a link of universal ideas of what games to TAS: http://tasvideos.org/ListOfIdeas.html If you don't know the base knowledge about TASing games, read everything there: http://tasvideos.org/ArticleIndex.html Good luck!
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.
