Version 4.0-1300 to latest dev versions have made it possible to play this without freezing ( as well as other fixes you'd need to set in the link above )

Didn't that fix it only for HLE? Which is inappropriate for TASing anyway.. LLE never suffered from that problem if I recall correctly.

Hmm, seeing these videos really kinda highlights the Metroid-esque design philosophy this game had - the idea of accommodating shortcuts and alternative routes if the player is clever enough to find them.

That was a fun watch. The run could be optimized more but the strategies used were impressive! My favorite was the level that ended with the purple monkey (no spoilers).

The Galaxy games sure are less interesting than previous 3D Marios, movement-wise at least. I wish Mario could dive or something other than long jump in this one :/ Don't get me wrong though, it's still enjoyable, that was a good watch.

Input display or TAS input? Both are broken afaik. I made this run with a controller in frame advance (over the course of 3 days). The input display doesn't show nunchuck input (which is what it needs to do to be useful) and the TAS input isn't quite finished, as it doesn't have a nunchuck input yet, among other problems. Soon hopefully. I still feel this run is fairly optimized for the strat.

I should really get input display working with nunchuck, shouldn't be too hard... edit: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/1189

no, this is a pull request into the master dolphin build, which doesnt have the avsync that Fog was updating. it seems that Fog is currently updating the AVsync to work with current builds tho as of Sept 28. https://github.com/RisingFog/dolphin/commit/495cae6001e4bf4468e14ba53a829aa8c5963a36
