It's just a horrible conversion, music side. It got the melody, but I would expect it to sync out quite quickly with the 'real' thing. Green Hill Zone is possibly the worst conversion out of all the ported songs, it's actually missing multiple segments.

Hummer Team / Somari Team made Somari and others like it: - Sonic the Hedgehog (starts you off in Spring Yard Zone) - Sonic & Knuckles 5 (again, starts you off in Spring Yard Zone) - Sonic 3D Blast 6 (starts you off in Marble Zone) - Family Kid (bundled with Aladdin 4, a pirated back port of the SNES game) After that, Hummer Team gave the source code to Waixing to make Doraemon, yet another Sonic pirate. Hummer Team makes update after update of the exact same game. Aladdin, Aladdin 4, Popeye 2: Travels in Persia Super Mario World (4 worlds, then 7 worlds) Donkey Kong Country 4, Jungle Book 2

There has been no conclusive evidence that Hummer Team has actually produced Somari, while tidbits and related materials have been found inside the ROM (Such as some similarities with sound effects between Somari and Kart Fighter, namely, some being exactly the same), there is no set-in-stone evidence that this is true. For all we know, some pirates ripped off Hummer Team and chucked some of Hummers resources into Somari. Unless you can give me proper citation, anyway.

Look at before the title screen of Somari, it shows "Somari Team Presents" because it's by Somari Team. You could look at Bootleg Games Wiki. I apologize if I am going off-topic.

Just because it says it is by Somari Team does not mean it was made by Hummer Team. I want firm, absolutely conclusive evidence.

It says the possible creators, not the actual creators. They're just guessing.

It's probably Hummer Team disguising themselves as Someri Team. I could "Frame Data" the transitions for evidence.

Mario was tired of being called a slow fatass by Sonic, so he made a lot of diet and excersise to be as fast as him... at least in his 8-bit form to stop Robotnik and save the animals. Yeah its a bootleg...

That submission was rejected because of sloppy optimization.

I posit it was rejected because of my disagreement with how the site handled runs at the time far more than any lack of optimization, but accept the rejection. I _do_ plan to work on this. Other far more pressing things are on the table. If anyone else wants to work on it I can forward on notes and, if I can find them, scripts I used to work on this. There should already be a thread for this game. I remember posting in it. Edit: it's in that thread now =)

Yeah, there is. Threads are merged now.

I want to start on this game, but also don't. So I need some help. The biggest reason I would want to complete this game, other than this game being an amazing work of art, would be to console verify a TAS of it. And to console verify it, I need the game. Well it's $20 on eBay and not particularly uncommon so might go fo around that. Want to help me get it? Because I don't want to pay for this masterpiece. http://www.ebay.com/itm/yup_somari_woot/171518802091 If I get Somari (I will come up with the famicom adapter somehow) I will TAS this game, then verify the TAS. A game this glorious deserves no less.

I would be willing to try and win that auction, but I don't know how I can send it to you.

If I find a guy that owns a card and is ready to send it to you (in Russia), how will sending it be set up? I'm going to throw a call somewhere, and people will want to know how to send it. Also, how will the post costs be paid?

I could win auction, convert BTC, etc... I can pay it if it is cheap and you trust the person to send it. China sellers can ship cheap, don't know about RU shipping.

I contacted a person who can send it to you. But he was pretty sure the final costs would be the same as if you simply bought the Amazon one. He promised to check. Hold on.

That guy could not find the cart, we posted a public request, but didn't attract too much attention. So the answer is NO (for the time being).
