This is a TAS of a game that I've made in 2 hours I think and it's so hard for me to play normally =( But if you want to try it here's a download link: https://bin.smwcentral.net/u/24388/Doge%2527s%2Badventure.zip and about the game, well, I don't have so much to talk about it, you control a dog and pick potatoes, only that.

Noxxa: Judging.
Noxxa: When Windows TASing was conceived, one concern that came up was the fact that any piece of shovelware created with little effort could be run and published as a TAS on the site. This run is a perfect example of that: a run of a shovelware game made in 2 hours. In order to prevent such runs of bad, un-noteworthy games being published, the Vault has a rule that "Unlicensed and homebrew games are eligible but may be judged on a game-by-game basis based on their notability". This game obviously fails on notability, not even being available anywhere than the link provided in this submission.
In addition, even for such a simple game, the technical quality of the run is poor, and the run is improvable by over 10 seconds - over one fifth of this run's length.
As such, rejecting this run for poor play and bad game choice.

Could have been funny (at least vaultable) but it looks way too suboptimal. Voting no.

http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

Such simple. Very unoptimize. Much boring. Wow. (For those who don't know what I'm talking about, see http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/doge) This makes me think of Jezzball but is way lazier design. This shouldn't even qualify as a Vault-able game. (Thanks, Mothrayas, for pulling up the relevant rule.) The end result is just not impressive enough, sorry.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. I was able to save 602 frames (10.03 sec) from this submission. A few notes: Doge seems to move at the same speed no matter which of the 8 directions you travel in. This means that no matter what your combination of up, right, and up+right, he'll usually complete the room in the same amount of time as long as you hit the potato in the optimal way (which is hard to describe, but you can find it for yourself with a little testing). You should never stand still or move left or down. Any time you do, you lose two frames (one for going down/left, and one for having to go an additional frame up/right again). There are always other ways around the cats (see below). The cats' starting angle is determined randomly (RNG), based on the frame you enter the room. If you get a really bad RNG where it seems all the cats are trying to surround you every step of the way, don't start going left/up. Just wait a frame or two before entering the room, and you will usually able to breeze through the new layout of the cats with the optimal input. And just generally strategize your movements. If you have a cat coming at you from the top and one coming at you from the top-right, you can either simply head right or try squeezing between them by alternating right, up, and up+right.[/userfile]

Eszik, I appreciate the support, but I don't think this game is of either the needed quality or popularity to be publishable, and I wouldn't want to submit a run that would inevitably be rejected because of game choice. Also, while I did work hard on my run, my intent was to help the author improve his TAS skills. On a side note, I didn't notice earlier that you said you made this game, Kaizoboy. I suppose you already knew exactly how the RNG worked and I didn't need to tell you, lol.

edit: I can't decide what he wanted to say, but I think he wanted to say that. So... Yes, he made this game. OT: I always wondered what would happen if someone develops a game for the sake of making a TAS of that game and "miraculously" lets the author to end the game with an idiot combination/fake "bad" condition. I doubt judges will debug the game to the very core especially if the author obfuscate it into a precompiled place.

Let me get this straight. You made a game based on a (terrible) meme and TASed it. YEs, I'll vote "no" here.
My first language is not English, so please excuse myself if I write something wrong. I'll do my best do write as cleary as I can, so cope with me here =) (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ

If you want to TAS your own game, it's been well established that you need to write it for the 65c816, glitch the game into the SMW cartridge, then TAS that. no.

This sounds weird, but does anyone have this game or an encode? The game's link appears dead, and I'm really curious what this was.

The mediafire link to the alternate encode still works.

Thanks. How about the game? Does anyone have that? Coolkirby made a run of it, and now it's not exactly playable. There's no runs of it on his channel as well.

I believe the reason the link is not working is because the file is saved at SMWCentral, which is down today due to a update. If you try in 2 days maybe you can get the game. Or I can ask Kaizoboy when he enters on Discord tonight.

Just letting you know: SMWC is up, and now the link is working again. You were just unlucky to find this in the exact day the site was updating. http://goo.gl/CcJu0m
