I can't comment on the progress of tc1, but I made some progress on tc2 a while back. The only part that's really holding me back is the fact I have to redo most of certain operations 3 or 4 times in order to minimise the syringe vital boosts or the like in order to have the patient not die right before I finish the op, which is kinda tedious. I'll get there eventually, but I'm a 'my pace' kinda guy, and that can vary greatly.

That is fine I can understand the "my pace" (I follow the same rules due to kids XD" just wanted to see if TC1 was still coming along.

Ditto on the pace for me. There's a lot of schoolwork now piling up in the last month crunch before I graduate (hence why I was working on Yoshi's Story... it's easier to TAS)... the good news is that once I get back to working on this, I'll have partners contributing a lot.

FanofZelda450 just started working on mission 4. He's going to work on it until I have enough time and a working TASing computer to join.

That's why I haven't TASed for months. Dressing up like a ninja may not have helped much either.

tasvideos still doesn't have a single Trauma Center TAS, so I'm anticipating this~

Did you press the skip button? Because it looks like mashing. (Didn't download dsm or get game because *pukes*)

...It says 'skip' in the corner? Unless you're talking about the end of operation screen. Select does nothing there.

That was awesome. I'm still wondering if a TAS a bit slower with only "XS" rank would be better but either way you did an amazing job keep going :)

To me, this looks more like someone playing with emulator slowdown rather than a TAS. It's not very well optimized at all.

Yeah, I got kind of annoyed at like op.. 14? because of blood pools affecting how fast I can do things depending on how I manage them, and never ended up picking it back up because I knew it could be improved where I was.

I was personally aiming for "all cool", which in a lot of cases results in an XS rank, but in some is actually TOO fast and can't meet the requirement for an XS rank on some missions.

What exactly isn't optimized(other than op 2 which I realized is pretty bad directly after I posted...)?

In utk I tried op.3 and ended at 4:49:38 (2 non-lag frames faster than LeChatMG as it appears to be) in the latest version of desmume. http://youtu.be/Wbof0OO_rL8 Is it just less lag? If not, then tumors were cut more optimally.

The ingame timer is not affected by lag, so despite it being faster (or slower) due to excess lag or less lag based on emulator version, you can achieve the same result between versions.

Here is my unfinished WIP of Trauma center 1 that gets up to Mission 24 (DeSmuME version 9.03.00). If I were ever to get back on the project I'd obviously have to restart using the most recent version of Desmume.

For reference this dsm uses desmume 0.9.2(+), the version thing was a little bugged back then iirc.

Ok so I'm new to TAS'ing but here is my shot at the first mission: (Trauma Center 2) http://www.twitch.tv/doommoose43/c/4666162 I love Trauma Center to death and I've always wanted to TAS it because it so fast paced. I did this in about half an hour. Still lots of stuff to optimize, but I thought I did pretty well for (basically) my first attempt at TAS'ing. BTW this game is hella finicky on inputs. Some of my notes so far:
*Skip can be stared the frame a character comes on screen, but not before. *Generally 2 frames between every action, 4 frames in some cases *the knife is hella laggy, like 4-6 frames behind or something
Quick question: How do you continue working on a recorded TAS file on DS emu? Like I wanna shutdown my computer, but save my TAS to work on later. How would I do that? I obviously know how to record it, I just wanna know how to pick up where I left off.

Does anyone still play this game? I've never TASed a DS game before. This is my first time TASing on DeSmuME, so the quality of the run may be a little sloppy. If I do complete this run, I'll make it an any% on Hard difficulty aiming for fastest time, disregarding rank. So far I only have Operation 1-1 to show; I complete it in 9.11 seconds, with a final timer of 4:50.89. I have no idea how to sync the movie upon replaying it, do I have to delete the battery file every single time I replay the run? Link to video

http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17165 Also there is a trauma center discord I can dm you the details if you like.
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero
