That TAS was made with the Japan ROM. I don't wanna play the Japanese version. Also that TAS doesn't complete them in the correct order. Link doesn't have the slingshot by the time he gets to Lord Jabujabu so I wouldn't be able to beat that level at all without re-completing Deku tree level.

Use MHS to hack a slingshot onto B or one of your c items then. Handy guide: http://zeldaspeedruns.com/oot/ba/item-chart

You didn't even say what emulator, which makes it kinda hard to give you states, Santiago. ;)

I haven't though of this, thanks a lot Patashu. This was definitely faster and easier. I used to hack on games all the time in the past but now that I've grown up I have kind of lost the impulse even when I should have it. Being adult sucks, it's like you get dumber. ^^

Sam did an awesome "Ganonless" TAS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMlk1HWPlKI Btw, for everyone waiting for the new any%: Sorry for the massive delay, but Ganon didn't turn out to be a trivial task like it used to be. We hope to get it done soon, but because I have no time at all until next week, we decided to stop working on the run until then.

Yes, great TAS by Sam! I love the category. Although we found yesterday that bottle probably isn't needed. If you time it right you should be able to get downA, hover up and use the trade item to unfreeze the trade timer. Here is an unoptimised video of how much time you have: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ShXzEK5QIQ (look at the timer, not the video time. I noticed too late that PJ64 2.0 runs too fast) Another thought was if maybe Navi text could advance the timer. It doesn't seem to, at least there is no visible cue, but it might be worth it to look at it in ram watch. Maybe it's just a few frames (which would be enough). If nobody has done it by then I'll look it up when the next version of bizhawk is out. Btw. Sam (should you read this, don't know if you are active here) are you going to submit the run here? I think with the new tier system that shouldn't be a problem. Edit: Oh you already did. Nice. :)

If anyone is wondering about this AFAIK this trick requires you to be swordless, so it would be significantly slower than getting the bottle and you also wouldn't be able to pause the timer in the boss room which by itself may make this impossible to use. EDIT : I just discovered a way to do the wrong warp without using the bottle meaning I will be redoing large amount of my TAS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioucOJyRRe8

Welp I made a TAS with that method I talked about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTg1umrzU90 It's my first TAS so please be gentle. After Sam found the trick to delay the text-box with B and made this pretty much useless, I lost a bit of motivation and got a little lazy. So I didn't redo using one bomb that I didn't need and busted out the hover boots to hover at the end instead of doing contortion hovers. The whole thing was still kinda hard, since you only have 3 seconds in the lava and so have to set up things on the platform. 1264 rerecords may not be that much, but for a first attempt... Anywho, enjoy. Also just if anybody is wondering (which nobody of you will) I recorded the ending because I thought it was fun to show off that indeed with this trick it runs through to the end, but I had to cut out the actual "the end" part since glide64 makes that flicker rapidly and I didn't to give anybody seizures. Also just as a fun fact: this tas was done with bizhawk.

Ahh, I guess you couldn't get the hovers down :[ good job though ^^. If anyone is wondering about the Ganonless TAS I did, Bloob and I are re-doing it, skipping rupees saved 116 frames, way more than I expected.

No problem at all. Good luck with the rest of the run. I am rooting for both of you edit: new world record for any% non tool assisted oot. link: http://www.twitch.tv/nedeahs/c/3330853 . I figured I would post the link since I posted the last two world records. Shaeden gets his record back.

Going good with any% TAS? Also will there be a new MST TAS in not to far future since there are so many new tricks and techniques? And is a 100% TAS still considered a unrealistic project to complete?

I think OoT TASers are not interested in doing long category TASes until a TASable emulator is out for N64 that is desync-proof and comfortable to use. Bizhawk / N64 is not quite there yet. An MST, All Dungeons or 100% TAS would be hype as fuck. But also a ridiculous effort. So it's worth waiting until that effort can be spent as efficiently as possible.

Also, have a big team like the 120 stars run would help.

As we've debated endlessly in the past their is no common consensus at to what 100% is. Although I'd much rather see it being done for MM than this game.

I thought Grunz, Bloob, Sam and some other guy were already working on it until something happened. We basically established what constitutes a 100% run. As Bizhawk is progressing forward, I think they would benefit more using that emulator than Mupen. Though Slowking's reported issues of Bizhawk needs to be addressed.

They lost interest, that's what happened. :D It stopped somewhere after botw. Maybe with a better emulator they would be interested again, but if I had to guess, they'd probably rather do MM 100%, especially since bizhawk doesn't seem to desync with it very often (I didn't have one desync and I tested shit in stone tower). But more realistically, we'll never see a 100% run of these games.

Just planning a route for a 100% run of MM would be a feat in itself. The ingame time and day add so many layers of complication and uncertainty.

Well for MM you'd have to give some leeway and change the route on the fly a lot. It can not be known how long things take until they are actually TASed.

Well, that's certainly quite a nice "little present".
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

You might want to update your linking to TASVideos... it's TASVideosChannel not this. Curious, which emulator was used?

Great work. Something I'm mildly curious about is, what made you choose that particular timing for opening the menu to equip the sword? Does it not matter at all, or is there some reason (luck manipulation?) to do it then rather than earlier or later?
