Based on your current test runs, when will Thany and Roy get a C support (including the part where one of them has to initiate a support conversation)?

So here’s the weapon use and support tally for Thany from chapters 9 to 20. Chapter 9 Weapon uses- Turn 2: 1 sword use Turn 3: 1 rapier use (Roy), 2 sword uses Turn 4: 2 sword uses (might change if Thany has more str) Support- 3 turns Chapter 10 Weapon uses- Turn 6: 1 iron lance use Support- 5 turns Chapter 11 Weapon uses- Turn 3: 2 slim lance uses Support- 2 turns Chapter 12 Weapon uses- Turn 1: 6 sword uses, 2 hand axe uses (Marcus) Turn 2: 3 hand axe uses (Marcus) Turn 4: 10 javelin uses Turn 8: 1 sword use Turn 10: 2 wyrmslayer uses (Roy) Support- 11 turns Chapter 13 Weapon uses- Turn 3: 1 javelin use Turn 4: 1 iron lance use (Miledy) Turn 5: 10 slim lance uses, 1 iron lance use (Miledy) Turn 6: 2 wyrmslayer uses (Roy) Support- 5 turns Chapter 14 Weapon uses- Turn 1: 2 killer lance uses Turn 2: 4 sword uses, 4 wyrmslayer uses (Roy) Turn 3: 1 killer lance use Support- 2 turns Chapter 15 Weapon uses- Turn 3: 1 killer lance use Support- 2 turns Chapter 16 Weapon uses- Turn 1: 1 sword use (possibly more) Turn 2: 2 sword uses Turn 3: 4 javelin uses Turn 4: 2 killer lance uses Turn 5: 2 killer lance uses Turn 6: 2 killer lance uses Notes: There’s also 4 generic weapon uses by Marcus and Percival Support- 5 turns Chapter 17 Weapon uses- Turn 4: 4 sword (or killer lance) uses Turn 5: 2 killer lance uses Support- 4 turns Chapter 18 Weapon uses- Turn 2: 2 sword (or killer lance) uses Turn 3: 12 sword uses (or could save a ton of time by disarming Thany) Turn 4: 1 killer lance use Support- 3 turns Chapter 19 Weapon uses- Turn 1: 8 sword uses Turn 3: 1 killer lance use Notes: Marcus and Percival have to take out 5 enemy pegasi, which results in up to 10 generic weapon uses. Support- 2 turns Chapter 20 Weapon uses- Turn 1: 2 killer lance uses Support- 0 turns ===== Totals ===== Sword uses- 45 Killer lance uses- 16 Javelin uses- 15 Support- 44 turns Surprisingly, Thany only needs 1 javelin and 1 killer lance to last her the entire game post-promotion. The sword uses can be easily covered by 2 weapons, namely an iron sword and slim sword. She also doesn’t need 45 uses to increase her sword rank, so some of that can be converted to a generic weapon such as an iron lance. The support stat is a lot more worrisome, though. From chapters 1-8, Thany needs to accumulate 15 support points. She has nothing to do with Roy until chapter 8, which is certainly beaten in less than 15 turns.

Dondon mentioned that he thought C19 could be beaten without a torch, so I had another look at it. Turns out he’s right, which means we no longer have to acquire a torch in the C13 shop, or promote Miledy. Thany needs to reach the space where I have the cursor at. No-torch Chad reveals that space, and with 1 space to spare. I updated the C13 and C19 test run accordingly. Chapter 19 (No Torch) Turn 1: Make sure Chad has a sword equipped because WTD allows him to be 1HKOed. Turn 2: Roy must crit 2 cavaliers and a paladin, so it’s a good idea to acquire the killing edge in C7. Alternately, the rapier could work here if it has enough uses left (remember it needs to have 2-4 uses to kill the C21 armors near the throne), though the paladin still needs to be critted. Overall notes: 0 re-record count since this was pure hexing. Chapter 13 (My approach) Overall notes: Nothing really changes aside from keeping Miledy idle after her wyvern player phase crit. And pretend I didn’t promote Miledy, I don’t feel like hexing that out. Chapter 13 (Dondon’s approach) Overall notes: This approach is only 141 frames slower, so there’s a possibility it could be faster based on different EP behaviour. --- Edit: Opened a youtube account to put all the testruns. Should be in my signature.

Ch1-2: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/220651525/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AjcXUPzs-8 Chapter 1: Nothing changes up until the drop, where Roy kills one of the two fighters and attacks another. Between the reduced numbers of attacks and improved manipulation, 92 frames saved here over v3. Chapter 2: Taking some ideas from both v3 and v4 here. Marcus again takes the majority of kills, while Thany gets started on her levelling. Manipulation at the end of the chapter allows for enemy stat manipulation in the next chapter, making it easier for Thany to get some exp. You may notice a lot of trades happening, as before. Alan needs an Iron Lance later on, so Bors loses his so Thany can eventually end up with one. Hand Axe and Iron Axe go to Marcus, and Roy takes Marcus' Iron Sword to save Rapier uses/inventory space. Roy's level up is HP/Spd/Def. I had to ensure the fighter was fast enough so that Roy didn't double him, but this will aid his survival immensely. In v3 he was never going to level beyond L3, but things are looking likely that Roy will hit L4 before promoting at this rate. I don't plan to destroy the Rapier in chapter 3 as before (it will still be needed later), but I will keep Roy as pacifist as possible in order to save time. Total improvement (over v3): 261 frames EDIT: I missed something obvious. I don't need to trade the Iron Lance to Thany until the start of ch3, and Bors actually gets within trade range on turn 1, so I can save a good few frames overall. Probably won't save more than half a dozen frames, but it'll be worth it. I'll correct this mistake, and I have the first couple of turns of ch3 already planned out, so it shouldn't take long for the next chapter to go up. EDIT THE SECOND: Improvement added, and now I'm 310 frames ahead. I'll lose a bit of that time trading the Iron Lance to Thany, but it is worth it.

Chapter 3: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/751902406/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwwrgqVccA4 This probably took the most planning for any chapter in a long time, and that was down to finding the most efficient ways to feed Thany as much early experience as possible. Since at low levels she has a hard time getting crits outside of using the Slim Lance, I also had to ensure several enemies were manipulated to low enough HP/Def that Thany could eventually use Iron Lance or Javelin to ORKO some of them. I made a few changes that allowed for less trading in ch2, saving another 23 frames there (a total of 333 frames ahead after ch2) Turn 1: A lot of units have to move here so they don't recieve any EP attacks. Marcus and Alan drop Thany into combat range, so she can level off one of the soldiers (HP/Str/Skl/Spd/Luk) and survive the other two attackers. Lance picks up Roy to pass to Alan next turn. Thany takes the Iron Lance from Bors. Turn 2: Alan needs to move his full move from this point onwards to kill a soldier that blocks Marcus' path on turn 4. This whole setup allowed Thany to get an additional soldier kill here. She only takes 1 EP kill again, and sets herself up to level next turn. I let the archer hit her so she makes for a more tempting target, otherwise the soldiers on the left tend to go for my group of units. Turn 3: Thany kills the archer. Slim is just 1 HP short of a OHKO, and she would miss with Javelin (or need another 500+ RNs to get a good level up). Nevertheless, she gets Str/Skl/Spd/Luk/Res. Marcus moves ahead and equips the Iron Axe, after taking Roy off Alan. Marcus can just about 2HKO the armor unit here. On the EP, Thany takes one more soldier kill. Turn 4: Alan crits the aforementioned soldier, and Thany takes out the javelin soldier in the west. She can 2HKO both of the remaining soldiers as long as she gets a Str level up off the first. Roy got a crit only to save a bit of time on the soldier he faces. Thany levels up with Str/Skl/Spd/Luk on the EP, and Roy gets HP/Skl (doesn't really matter what he gains tbh). Turn 5: Alan gets a HP/Str level up (skill was really annoying to come by with a crit, so I just settled for the earliest available), and Marcus opens the way for Roy to take an EP kill on the fighter there. Alan gets more exp off the wounded cavalier Turn 6: Marcus needs to crit and level off the boss. Speed isn't as vital early on, so I settled for HP/Str/Skl (I would have to shift another 1600 or so RNs to get speed with that). In total, I'm 1519 frames behind v3. Most of that is down to setting up kills for Thany, the additional enemy attacks on the EPs, and having to move more units at the start. Still, I knew I'd be behind here, and that gap will quickly close once I get a few more levels under her belt. EDIT: Noticed another slight improvement here. Lance can go with every other unit, and Roy can move adjacent to Alan's finishing position on turn 1. That way, all Alan has to do is rescue Roy then move. I'll hex this in soon and let you know how much of a saving this adds. EDIT THE SECOND: 1489 frames behind with that improvement. Ch4 won't be too far way now.

Chapter 4: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1191224282/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY9glzHdkUo So, this is a much more straightforward chapter than the last one. I'm still determined to push Thany up early here. Turn 1: Set my units moving forward. Marcus takes the lead, and Alan grabs Roy and follows behind. Thany ends up in a position that she only lures one of the starting cavaliers, and the nomad, since she can't crit 2 enemies on this EP. Wolt gets damaged Turn 2: Thany finishes off the nomad. Marcus and Alan advance towards the castle. Marcus gets two crits, and misses one cavalier attack. Turn 3: Thany crits the cavalier Marcus failed to finish off for a Str/Skl/Spd/Res level up. Alan takes out the other nomad, and Marcus makes the drop. On the EP, Roy gets to crit one of the cavaliers opening the way to the castle, and levels up HP/Res. Clarine still can't recruit herself. Turn 4: Shopping time. I get a lot less weaponry this time - a Slim Sword for Thany (this will make it easier for her to reach D Swords), 6 Javelins and 2 Hand Axes. This should be all I need until I can buy some Killer Lances. Since I'm in need of much less weaponry, I don't need to pick up the Angelic Robe to sell either. Despite the obvious, I'm still even further behind v3, by a total of 1646 frames. Obviously, I could save time by missing the level ups on Thany and Roy, but I think for Thany's goal of hitting L11 before promoting, and something to aid in Roy's survival, it is worth the extra time. I can certainly forego the Roy level up with no consequence though, it'll be a minor benefit if at all.

Chapter 4: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/550506032/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKUbRvLBiPs So, I decided I wasn't happy with the previous attempt at this chapter, and managed to knock a huge amount of time off. Turn 1: Same as before. Turn 2: Thany gets in a different position to crit the nomad. Alan hands Roy to Thany (free support turn). Marcus actually kills all the cavaliers this time. Turn 3: Thany is now able to reach the nomad, pass Roy to Marcus, and crit for HP/Str/Skl/Spd level up. With the drop, I need Roy to be hit by the first three attackers, so the archer will attack Roy. This prevents Clarine from recruiting herself. Turn 4: Shopping as before, boss kill, seize. Improvement has gone to 977 frames behind v3 now. This is a much better approach, with less overall combat, and an extra support turn towards my goal of getting Thany C Roy support.

Chapter 5: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/308308187/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm So, you may recognise this approach. It's basically a direct copy of the strategy used in v3. The only time saving is from Lance not getting a level up really. Merlinus moves next to Roy, so he can get rid of his Vulnerary, and take out the 5 remaining Javelins from his stash. Since Roy is being ferried all over the place, he's in a better position to act as a secondary inventory space for my attackers. Marcus will take the two Hand Axes from Merlinus next chapter, it's more convenient then and I can basically get rid of the Silver Lance and Iron Sword for them. As before, Lance scoops up Roy thanks to Wolt's death allowing a better position to the gate, and Marcus allows the drop. Thany moves into position to take out the mercenary on turn 2. Amusingly Lance does not have a guaranteed KO on all the brigands here, although the one to his left after moving was one he could finish off in a single crit. Since he's only taken one other kill so far, he is nowhere near levelling and this is the only real time saver in this chapter. Marcus takes the last use of the Silver Lance on Dory the Explorey, and Roy is able to seize on turn 2 as before. Now in total, I'm only 645 frames behind v3. I'm catching up significantly, and it'll be interesting to see if I can surpass v3 before Thany promotes, although I kind of doubt it. Still, stranger things have happened.

Ok, so I've come across an annoying snag in ch6 - Thany is just one str short of being able to 2HKO the soldiers. This has caused me to have a rethink, and try and include a bit more combat in my previous chapters. This is the thoughts I have so far: Chapter 4: I can send Alan to do some shopping. This will allow me to have Thany take a kill on turn 4 (she could take the archer near her on turn 3 EP, but again Clarine would be able to recruit herself.) Chapter 5: I was able to find a setup where both Roy survived the drop and Thany took a nomad kill on turn 1 EP. This gives me more exp towards levelling. Chapter 6: Turns out this isn't the last of the Silver Lance, as the armors are barely 2HKOed from Marcus with it. The higher level one needs his stats manipulated so Marcus doesn't need more Str, but he will level off the first armor (which doesn't require the Str boost), so I have to deal with his level manipulation. Thany attacking from range will still require a crit on the first enemy+ level up, as she ends up just shy of L6 with the extra exp she manages to obtain. After that, it's just a case of ensuring everything hits, as well as likely a good second level up. All this has to be managed on the first EP. So it is entirely possible, although it may take a long time to find the right RN string. I'll see if I can find a way to get her to L6 before she enters Ch6, but I don't hold any promises. EDIT: Alrighty then, I got Thany to hit L6 in ch5. Chapter 4: Turn 3 EP, I was able to persuade a cavalier to attack Thany instead of Roy by having her hold a Javelin. This netted me one extra kill, and she took a second on Turn 4. Chapter 5: I persuaded a nomad to attack her on turn 1 EP. The crit was too far away, but she was able to double and 2HKO which helped. I end ch5 1815 frames behind v3, but that doesn't concern me in the long run. Chapter 6: With all this extra work, I am now able to have Thany 2HKO all the turn 1 enemies she faces with a Javelin. In order to get Marcus to gain Skill, and the required stats for Thany, I have to shift 269 RNs from the start on turn 1. I miss out on Skill for Thany, but she'll cap with no issues anyway, the main thing was ensuring she got Str and Spd. I'll post the finished WIP once it's all done.

Chapter 6: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1836585795/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqlJLuHIINE So, all my changes have finally paid off. Chapter 4-6 have been redone to allow Thany to clear the ch6 soldiers. She clears up so much that she's well ahead of where Alan was by this point, although Alan was less in demand of stats and exp. At the end of ch5 I had to shift 1 extra RN to allow Thany to clear all the first turn soldiers completely (one had gained an extra Def point otherwise). Turn 1: Marcus and Thany advance. Thany takes a pair of fresh Javelins from Roy, and he empties Merlinus of the last few from his stash. Alan grabs Roy for the handover next turn. On the EP, Marcus gets HP/Str/Skl/Res level up, and Thany gains Str/Spd/Luk. I cannot have Thany hold Roy as she fails to double the mages, and persuading all four of the soldiers to attack her require her to be at very low HP (otherwise at least one will 2 range Silver Lance Marcus). Turn 2: Takes too long to crit the Steel Lance soldier, so Thany just takes him out with a Javelin 2HKO, gaining HP/Str/Skl/Spd/Luk/Res in the process. Alan doesn't need to move beyond the handover, which was nice. Marcus again has to move back after the drop, to allow the friendly gap in the mage lineup. Turn 3: Thany clears the path for Marcus to take the boss kill. In theory I can have Marcus use the Silver Lance to OHKO the mage, and Thany can just reach with the javelin on the boss. I doubt she's in need of the exp though, there's still 2 chapters to go before promotion and she's around the right level from the test runs now. In total, I'm 2743 frames behind v3. Thany will get very little exp in the next two chapters compared to what Alan did, but it should be enough to allow her to promote at L11. After that, I will start making significant improvements which more than destroy all the penalties I've been taking. It'll all be worth it, you'll see...

Chapter 7: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/342830550/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GIQSiavWtI So this chapter needed a new approach. Dondon demonstrated in the realtime speedrun that you can avoid the reinforcements on the throne by killing Devias on the same turn you open the gate. With this in mind, and a few RN discoveries I made along the way, this is the first chapter with any sort of significant time saving. Turn 1: Thany and Marcus take out two of the knights, with Thany gaining Str/Skl/Spd/Luk/Res level up. Alan and Lance set up the rescue drop. On the EP, Roy is in a place to be attacked. Thany will also be attacked, and I was able to lure one of the cavaliers down and have her crit him. Turn 2: Thany takes out one of the wyverns, and gains Str/Skl/Luk level up (Speed was capped last level). Alan and Lance are forced to level with their kills, while Marcus uses his body to block the soldier and archer from attacking anyone but himself or Zealot. Speaking of Zealot, Roy recruits him, and I also recruit Treck this time, having both the Ilian knights move slightly. On the enemy phase, Thany takes out more enemies with javelin crits. Marcus and Zealot take a few out too, but the final cavalier that goes for Marcus doesn't get hit. Still, it's a better result than anything else possible. Turn 3: Marcus gets rid of the last cavalier. Zealot takes Roy and heads forward. Thany does shopping for keys, then moves to lure the second wyvern to her on EP, and he eats a crit+ hit kill. Turn 4: The paladins line up for next turn. Zealot gets a door key, and Thany gets Roy for more support turns. Turn 5: Roy is dropped. Zealot opens the door. Devias is killed. Turn 6: Seize time. With this approach, I'm now 2008 frames behind v3. That's a saving of 735 frames on this stage alone. I don't see myself saving more time in the next chapter with the approach I have to take there, but it'll still be worth it. Thany has ended up at 10.95 exp, only 5 exp short of where she needs to be. Unfortunately, this will mean she'll be well overlevelled by the time she promotes, but it is still faster to kill the enemies in ch7 than not, I discovered, especially given all the crits I was able to find for her.

Chapter 8: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/637938116/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N43vnTLNOXE Well, I'm back with a vengance, and what better way to start than the end of Marcus being the primary attacker and the start of Thany being large and in charge! I've made a few executive decisions that should improve optimisation in the long run. First, as you see, I've kept Thany and Roy together for as long as I could. This should give me plenty of support turns for that required C rating. Second, I only used two attackers (previous versions used at least 3), so I saved time not using more units. The main decision was to level Thany to L12 rather than L11, so she can not only have improved stats, making the future boss kills easier, but specifically in Chapter 9, being able to ORKO Scott (the boss) with the Slim Sword, going towards that sword rank early. I expected to be behind in terms of frame count, and I am, being 3440 frames behind (a loss of 1432 frames in this chapter). From here on Thany will be making up massive savings given she doesn't worry about terrain and faces much less combat than Alan. Turn 1: Roy takes the Hammer from Ward, and then gives it to Marcus in exchange for the Rapier. Roy also collects the Silver Lance, Thany will need it in future so it's best to take it now. Thany grabs the Slim Sword from Alan, and moves adjacent to Roy to start the support gains. Marcus leads the combat charge, taking out the enemies he can reach. Turn 2: Marcus' Hand Axe has 1 use left, so he switches to a fresh one for the enemies here. Thany picks up Roy and follows behind. Turn 3: Thany levels off the armor, and gains HP/Str/Skl/Luk. Marcus can't reach anyone on player phase, but he does take 3 enemy kills on EP, avoiding the OHKO from the Horseslayer knight. Marcus also grabs the Chest Key. Turn 4: Marcus takes the archer out so he can't go for Thany. Turn 5: More advancement and enemy killing. Turn 6: Marcus switches to the other fresh Hand Axe for the enemies here. I luck out with the crit here. Turn 7: Marcus needs to move around the archer to advance. Thany takes the remaining knight out on EP. Turn 8: Moves here are used to set up the next set of crits Turn 9: Thany is forced to drop Roy to get an earlier crit, but she'd have to drop him anyway. The aircalibur mage OHKOs her, so she needed to avoid him. Marcus stomps the Killer Lance knight with the Hammer. Turn 10: Thany and Roy advance adjacent. Marcus moves towards the throne. Cath and the other thief appear. Turn 11: Roy levels to L4, gaining HP/Skl/Luk. Thany kills Cath finishing adjacent to Roy. Marcus grabs a mage kill on EP. Turn 12: Hammer crit on Leygance, the Skill stat was required to have 1% chance. Thany scoops up Roy again. Turn 13: Marcus doesn't kill the last mage so Thany can hit L12, instead he moves towards the Elysian Whip chest. Thany drops Roy. Turn 14: Roy moves again into position for support turns, while Thany takes the very last knight out. Marcus collects the whip, and again eats an EP attack. Turn 15: Thany levels off the mage, gaining HP/Str/Skl/Luck. Marcus trades the whip to Thany, Roy seizes.

Just thought I’d point out some changes discussed over IRC -It turns out raising Roy isn’t worthwhile. In particular, it’s possible to 3 turn C14 without having Roy use the wyrmslayer, meaning he doesn’t require all that levelling required to reach C rank in swords. -Thany is actually raised to lv 12 before being promoted, as this provides a number of statistical benefits. It allows her to ORKO Scott (the C9 boss) with a double slim sword crit, as well as Ain (the C12 boss) with a silver lance, and gives her enough str to borderline ORKO wyverns in C13. -Some other stuff I can’t think of right now Also going to update some test runs based on these new conditions. --- Chapter 12 *New* Turn 4: Marcus is positioned in the only spot where the longbow archer between the walls can’t hit him. Also, didn’t bother to combine the archer miss and the warrior crit due to laziness, so I have to crit the warrior next turn. Turn 7: Some enemy stat manipulation may be required to get the priest javelin 1HKO. Unfortunately Thany can’t attack from 1 range without being exposed to archer attacks. Turn 8: Thany uses the slim sword for the sword rank. Turn 9: Silver lance hit + crit. The rest: Thany-Roy support building. Overall, 16 supports points are gained throughout the chapter. Chapter 13 *V3* Turn 3: I have to move Miledy so she can take out a wyvern blocking Thany’s way next turn. After that she does nothing for the remainder of the map, aside from RN burns. Turn 5: On EP, Thany needs to crit a wyvern and paladin with the slim lance. Turn 6: Thany needs to use the silver lance against the boss. Overall notes: Everything works out nicely now- Miledy doesn’t need to promote, Roy barely gets attacked, hardly any manipulation on turn 5, and the armory is reached. Chapter 15 Turn 1: Lalum must dance Miledy followed by being rescue-dropped towards Percival. Nothing else changes overall. Chapter 17 *Alternate Method* Turn 2: Thany goes into a precise spot, as far as she can go along the coastline without being on land and thus attracting a swarm of enemies. It’s also crucial that she gets reduced to single digit hp so that certain key enemies ignore Roy. Turn 3: Another very precise move, as this is the only drop-point where Roy can manage to seize un-hindered. Overall notes: This is ~200 frames slower than the more pacifist approach, though it could end up being faster in the end depending on how the optimization works out. Chapter 19 Double-checked that an unarmed lv 4 Roy + angelic robe can manage to seize :) --- Everything else seems to check out… Aside from the angelic robe (see edit below), only Thany’s sword rank and Roy support worry me. Sword rank: C9- 0 Wexp (based on new approach) C12- 11 Wexp C14- 6 Wexp (questionable- since more enemies will attack Thany on turn 2, she might need to use KL) C16- 4 Wexp C17- 6 Wexp (questionable- same as C14 if alternative approach is taken) C18- 23 Wexp C19- 17 Wexp --- 67 Wexp > 50 The bolded chapters are ones I just tried out and am therefore 100% sure about. Taking those bolded chapters alone gives us more than enough Wexp (51>50). Supports: 44 turns (from previous post) 5 turns (from new C12 approach) 14 turns (from C8) 6 turns (from C1-7) --- 69 turns > 60 There’s also a couple chapters (C9 and C20 IIRC) where an extra support turn can be gained. In other words, there’s plenty of leeway here. ***** Edit: In C14, Roy needs an angelic robe so that a wyvern lord fails to 1HKO him. This, combined with Thany being reduced to single digit hp, makes the wyvern lord attack Thany instead of Roy, thus giving him a clear path to the throne. Now, there are 2 possible angelic robes- one in C4, and another in C11. The one in C4 was missed in the current TAS WIP (v5), while the C11 robe doesn't seem feasible to acquire (even made a topic about it on Serenes Forest). Now assuming the C11 robe is ruled out, the C4 one must somehow be acquired through hex editing. Unfortunately, Thany is the only viable unit for visiting the village, but to do so would reduce the amount of combat she engages in, which not only throws off the RNG (ie impossible to hex edit) but also throws off future chapter strategies that rely on her having a very specific amount of exp. So, the only solution I can think of is to kill off Bors, which would move Alan into a more favorable position, and thus allow him to reach the robe village while Lance goes to the armory. This raises 2 issues though: since killing Bors would cost RNs, it might make hexing impossible, unless the RNG can be re-synched. Eg/ if killing Bors costs 6 RNs, perhaps a later manipulation will cost 54 RNs instead of 60, and then everything's back to normal. The other thing is that killing Bors will affect the unit positions in C5, and might prevent the 2 turn. C4 Turn 1 Positioning With Bors Without Bors

Alright, a few changes to the end of Chapter 8 have been implemented. Roy doesn't reach L4 yet, but he'll still have the HP for the Robe strat in ch14. Thany manages to take both thief kills, levelling off the second (HP/Str/Skl/Luk/Res), by having Roy block the route north for Cath, then having Thany use the Javelin so that Roy can finish adjacent on those two turns. Marcus needs to take the remaining mage kill on the EP so that Thany can reach Marcus on turn 15 and promote. I must have saved a good 730 frames or so with this approach, because I finished only an extra 270 frames behind the previous chapter 8 (3710 total frames behind), including the ~1000 frames for the promotion.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/528367574/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Chapter 8: Implemented the above changes, finished 3710 frames behind v3 Chapter 9: Thany started in a slightly different position than the test run would suggest, but it still allowed me to avoid all unnecessary combats. Turn 1: Picked up Roy, took the Silver Lance from him, moved west. Had to trigger one enemy into attacking. Turn 2: By only moving 7 west instead of 8, Thany avoids combat in this round. Turn 3: Drop here means there are only 2 EP attacks. Turn 4: Silver Lance crit. Roy seize Chapter 10: I avoid all the combat I could, bypassing enemies along the far east of the map. Turn 1: No need for Thany to be repositioned in preps. Pick up Roy. Turn 2: Move all the way to the far east. Turns 3-5: Shifting some RNs for Thany's level up, finish with a drop on turn 5. Roy needs to be placed in the boss line of fire or the two druids will block his seize. On the EP, I rig Geese to miss one of his attacks, this prevents further enemies getting in close and he only suffers a single EP attack after that. Other Phase finishes with Geese killing the hand axe fighter that attacked him. Turn 6: I moved Thany's level up as close as possible in turn 5, given her position would make it awkward to shift RNs. She only needed to move two more for the Iron Lance crit, and gained Str/Skl/Spd/Luk/Res from the level up. Total improvement has gone from so far behind, to a massive 6277 frames ahead, that's a total of 9987 frames improvement over chapters 8 to 10. Things can only go up from here, as Thany bypasses much of the combat Alan was forced into.

The angelic robe problem has been resolved :) Also, couple more test runs. Chapter 14 *Newer* Turn 3: By manipulating the hero to have 12 str, a 27 hp/7 def Roy can avoid being attacked, which allows him a clear path to the throne. Chapter 22 *New* Turn 1: I manipulate a Percival armorslayer crit + skl stat-up so that he will have a slightly higher crit rate on EP. Turn 2: Lalum and Merlinus have to move so that Yodel and Merlinus can avoid turn 3 reinforcements. Turn 3: It’s crucial that Thany gets hit by the mamkute, as this directs a ton of enemies from Roy to her.

Chapter 11: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/62534724/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode (ch9-11): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cduE0Rc3GcY Turn 1: I needed a bunch of mounts here, including both paladins. Lalum moves next to Ward, who picks her up. Zealot takes Lalum and moves his full move, and Lance drops her. Meanwhile, Alan takes Roy, and Thany takes Marcus her full distance east. On the enemy phase, Thany dodges the two archers. Turn 2: Thany drops Marcus, and then gets danced. Roy is transferred through Zealot to Thany, and he gets dropped near the boss, switching a Javelin for the Iron Lance. On Enemy Phase, Marcus gets attacked, blocking off a bunch of attackers, and Thany lures one Hand Axe fighter to her which would otherwise block Marcus' path. No crit, because it would take too long to get a crit and have Roy survive. Turn 3: Thany can use the Slim Sword to finish the boss off. Marcus is able to reach the Angelic Robe, which will be needed for Roy in Chapters 14 and 19. Roy takes the Rapier, returning the Iron Lance back to Thany, and seizes. Total improvement over v3 is 6903 frames, it's not so great as the previous given that I'm collecting the Robe, but it's a necessary item which allows for some pretty unique AI manipulation.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1134626729/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8Nj-haJ5J8 Quite a few changes here, and I also had to feed Roy a kill in order to get him to L4 and 7 Def. This will make it easier to manipulate Ch14/19 enemy phases, as you'll see. Turn 1: Merlinus takes a door key from his stash and gives it to Marcus, who takes out one of the fighters near him. Thany collects Roy and equips the Slim Lance (Slim Sword lacks the mt to OHKO the knight). Thany clears up on EP Turn 2: Marcus needs Iron Axe to kill the knight. Thany advances into the corridor. This EP allowed Marcus to counter-crit the last fighter, and Thany to dodge all the archers that attack her. Turn 3: Drop Roy here. Marcus shifts 2 spaces to the west, after manipulating the next turn's critical. Turn 4: Thany crits the first fighter. Marcus in this position is able to shift through more RNs, so does so to set up the enemy phase. Thany takes out the remaining fighters, deliberately misses killing the first archer which prevents the other attackers from reaching her, and chips the warrior for Str/Spd/Luk level up. Turn 5: Slim Sword used to finish off the warrior. Marcus moves here to avoid triggering the longbow archer. Turn 6: Roy is collected to avoid enemy phase attacks. Turn 7: Dropping Roy here avoids both the Longbow and the Sleep Staff. Turn 8: Roy levels off the nearby priest, for HP/Skl/Luk/Def/Res (the Def increase being the most important). Marcus swaps the Angelic Robe for the Wyrmslayer. Thany rescues Roy. Turn 9: Marcus opens the door and blocks one spawn point. Thany nukes the priest with Silver Lance. Turn 10: Roy is dropped so Thany can crit. On the EP, Thany is hurt, but responds with a Silver Lance crit + hit to finish off Aine in one round. She also nets Str/Skl/Spd/Luk level up. Turn 11: It's faster having Roy move adjacent to Thany while she blocks the spawn point, rather than having him rescued. Roy uses the Angelic Robe here. Turns 12-19: Turn skipping to avoid the gaiden. Turn 20: Roy heads thronewards. Reinforcements appear from the south. Turn 21: Seize Here is where a large bulk of the support turns happen, putting me ever closer to Thany C Roy. Given that I have Roy take a kill and level up here, I end up 5723 frames ahead of v3 here, a loss of 1180 frames, but it's worth it in the long run.

Vykan suggested a different approach in order to get the Door Key and Angelic Robe where they should be. In Ch11, you'd trade the Door Key to Roy. Marcus would then only need to move a lot less than before in Ch12 in order to open the door, giving Roy the robe in Ch14 instead. However, this approach actually turned out more costly, and I finished ch12 64 frames behind, with Marcus still in possession of the robe. This would mean a loss of about 100 or so more frames just to trade and use the Robe in Ch14, so this approach while seemingly smarter in terms of movement, actually turns out slower, as well as losing out on around 5 support turns for Thany and Roy. I'll stick with the strats used then in the input file and move on to ch13.

Chapter 13: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/51029024/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tni0E4_Vli4 Another flier skip chapter, but with a few things that make it more worth watching than the average. Turn 1: Thany is kind enough to start in the far right position without having to be moved in preps. Moving over the water prevents the aggressive land AI units from making a move until Thany hits land. Zephiel does his usual pwn of Cecilia. Turn 2: Thany only moves 7 spaces here, stopping just outside of the ballista range and lining up the first two wyverns that moved. Miledy recruits herself at the end of the turn. Turn 3: With the wyverns lined up, Thany gives Miledy a low use Javelin to save inventory space, and equips the Slim Sword. Miledy follows on behind for the next turn. On the EP, Miledy eats a ballista shot (80 hit, would take far too long to rig a miss) and Thany counter-crits the wyvern. The first wyvern's movement prevents the attacking wyvern from using his Javelin at 2 range, which is why these first moves are made in this manner, it pushes me even closer to that D Sword rank. Turn 4: Miledy has to use Steel Lance to kill the second wyvern, giving Thany a clear move to the east. Ballista shot is dodged this turn. Turn 5: Miledy moves into range of the remaining javelin wyvern, dropping her weapons for improved avoid and to prevent counter attacks. Thany kills the nearby troubadour with Slim Lance (Slim Sword drops her avoid too much, and also prevents some 2HKOs on EP). On the EP, Thany clears out the first two wyverns, and most of the cavaliers, leaving the paladin and javelin cavs alive. The final wyvern has to go for Miledy, else she will block Thany's route to the armory next turn. Note that with Thany stopping exactly on this space, it prevents the aggressive AI units from moving as well, since Thany is not technically on land, but on untraversable terrain. The advantages of flight allows for bigger savings than you might imagine. Turn 6: Roy is dropped to the far east to avoid him being attacked, Thany gives him the Iron Lance while doing so. Miledy dodges again, while Thany has to use the Slim Lance to double crit Flaer (I checked 1000 RNs ahead and a Silver crit wouldn't have allowed Miledy to survive, Thany only has 1% chance). Level up gained is Str/Spd/Luk. Since Thany is now on land, it triggers the aggresive units to finally move. Turn 7: Thany buys 3 Killer Lances (with the inventory space I cleared, she has 2 on her person, the third in Merlinus' stash). Roy seizes. With this approach, I am now 13,204 frames ahead of v3. Thany is getting closer to her required targets of C Roy Support and D Swords, and she's about to start capping some stats from the next level up onwards. Skill is less of an issue now that I have access to Killers (that will quickly catch up anyway), and I don't think I need to raise Thany's defences much any more. All in all, I'm pleased with how this turned out.

Chapter 14: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/50708290/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UyvS6bNxCY This pretty much follows the strategy Vykan discovered. The fact that Roy is able to survive the Hero that attacks on turn 2 means it will go for low health Thany rather than Roy, and this prevents the Wyvern Lord from blocking off the seize route from the top. In preps, I turn off every unit except for Thany, Miledy and Lalum. Miledy doesn't need to move in preps in order to reach the Warp staff on turn 3, so the only character I need to move is Lalum. Turn 1: Miledy moves along the south east, while Sophia collects the Silence Staff, dropping her Flux tome. Meanwhile, Roy is picked up by Thany, she is danced, and Cecilia collects the Boots for Thany to use and move directly East. It is faster to reset and use the trick discovered by dondon, allowing a guaranteed item collection rather than relying on the RNG. On EP, Sophia is doubled but survives the mage (this mage could kill Sophia with some stat manipulation, but it is better to have him take 2 rounds rather than giving him a weakened Miledy as a target), while Thany kills one merc and one Hero, getting to low health in the process. Turn 2: Roy is disarmed and dropped at Thany's extreme move (Roy can just see the boss in his line of sight, which is why this drop point is important). Miledy collects the Silence Staff and continues directly east - this lines up the enemies so they don't get in her way to the Warp Staff. On the EP, Thany is now the target of most of the aggro, given her low HP. Roy still gets targeted by the Wyvern Lord and a mage, but given the Def increase I was forced to get and the Robe used, it discourages enough of the enemies from attacking him in favour of Thany, preventing the boss kill and seize from being blocked off. Thany gets Skill/Luck level up here. Turn 3: Warp Staff get. Thany kills the boss finishing 1 exp short of the next level. Seize. This map finished 14,786 frames ahead of v3, so another huge saving here. Since v3 only got as far as Chapter 15, I won't be providing comparisons much longer, but I'm bound to be light years ahead of any Alan-based strategy given the huge boon flight grants. EDIT: Nitrodon helped me optimise the item collection. Also I overlooked that in turn 2, I can move Miledy only 6 squares and prevent her being attacked on the EP. In total, I made a 328 frame improvement, so now I'm 15114 frames ahead of v3.

Chapter 15: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/870963636/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3_ir0JviFQ More flier skip goodness. Turn 1: Miledy needs a boost from Lalum in order to just reach the Hammerne village on turn 3. After Miledy is danced, Lalum is rescued. Roy helps to disarm Thany, with Igrene getting the rest of the weapons. Both fliers move into position, then Lalum is dropped. Turn 2: Lalum is able to recruit Percival now. Percival's cavaliers are rescued to avoid the Other Phase. Igrene kills a merc that dares to come too close. Miledy advances to the village, and Thany drops Roy. On enemy phase, disarmed Thany saves time by not countering and killing enemies. Miledy takes a hit, but the enemies give her a nice gap. Thany nets a level up of HP/Str/Skl/Spd/Luk, hitting both the Strength and Speed caps. This should make future level ups much easier to deal with. Turn 3: Miledy collects the Hammerne. Thany rearms herself then finished the boss with the Killer Lance (the RNs lined up perfectly so no RN shifting was needed for this). Roy seizes, collecting a useless Knight Crest. This chapter finishes 16823 frames ahead of v3. No more comparisons can be made, but Thany is proving miles ahead as you can see. Next stop is the joys of an indoor map, so a lot more combat than the last few maps have provided. Nearly done with reaching the important stat caps for Thany, just really Skill and Luck to manage, and maybe a little bit more Res for long range magic and staves. Skill is 2 points off the cap, and Luk is 8 points, but those can easily be managed (55% and 60% growth rates respectively)

Chapter 16: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1287205984/FE6%20TAS%20v5.vbm Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-tvB5ItczA No flier skip possible in this chapter. Turn 1: Fa moves to the north. Merlinus pulls the last Killer Lance out of his stash and gives it to Zealot, who advances. Roy moves along, and is ferried by Cecilia over to Percival, who takes the 11 use Killer Lance from Roy and drops him, moving near the mercenary. Thany can grab Roy and move into dance range from Lalum, advancing mostly north and one space east. On enemy phase, Thany kills two enemies, and Percival a third. Her position lines up the surviving enemies so they don't block her advance. Fa's position pulls a Purge Bishop, which will prevent him from attacking anyone else. Turn 2: Zealot kills a fighter in the centre, and Percival a mage. Lalum moves out of Bolting range. Thany advances, dropping Roy and equipping a Javelin. Thany is now able to kill one Hand Axe fighter, Hugh and a Bishop, gaining Skl/Luk level up. The Purge Bishop on the left decides to kill Merlinus. Turn 3: Percival finishes another mage in the centre. Thany scoops up Roy again and moves as far as she can, allowing her to KL crit the armour nearby. Fa once again becomes the target of Purge and will for the remainder of this chapter. Turn 4: Thany shifts RNs and advances her full move. Enemy phase allows her to kill the knight and mercenary in the way, and survive the two mages. Turn 5: Thany drops Roy near the boss. She finishes off Douglas and a knight with the Killer Lance. Turn 6: Narshen has too high luck to use Silver Lance on, so Killer it is for the double kill, gaining Skl/Luk. Roy seizes. I have now finished capping Strength, Skill and Speed, and am 6 points off capping Luck. What's more significant is that I have 59 support points with Thany, meaning I can get to C Roy support next chapter. I had no room to build up Sword wexp this time, but with 19 points out of 51 needed, I'm still well on target for having it by Ch21.

I testran from C17 to the end, starting from where the most recent WIP left off. I also made sure to maintain continuity between chapters. That’s why most of the videos start in the base instead of turn 1 PP. Basically, there shouldn’t be any surprises left that would make us have to re-do huge segments of the run. First, to address the most pressing concern, namely Thany’s sword Wexp: C1-16: 19 Wexp C17: 6 Wexp (9 if double slim crit boss) C18: 5 Wexp C19: 20 Wexp (21 if boss crit on 2nd hit) --- 50-54 Wexp Assuming you don’t change sword usage in the C16 re-do, you could get the required 51 Wexp by killing the C17 boss normally and wiping out the C19 boss with a slim sword crit. And onto the fun stuff: Chapter 17- When properly optimized, the passive approach (going around the ballistae) is ~800 frames faster than the aggressive approach (going through them). This is true even with a clever strat Toothache worked out where the 2nd ballista is disposed of on turn 1. Chapter 18 *New* Turn 1: Having Miledy rescue Lalum and hide saves a lot of time since no enemies pursue her. Turn 2: Thany needs to crit the merc with a slim sword in order to get an extra point of Wexp. Turn 3: Incredibly annoying EP since the boss has 83 true hit and a berserker healer has 61 hit. Chapter 19 *V3* Turn 1: I am able to save Chad this time by using 3 mounted units instead of 2. Alan gives Percival a javelin and Marcus equips a hand axe so that the 2 range pegasi won’t target them. The spacing of my units in the beginning area is a bit awkward since I have to avoid a ballista’s range. Turn 2: Percival has to kill the falcoknight from there to avoid a ballista attack. I move Cecilia for the same reason. The EP relies on Thany being at low hp and Roy dodging the paladin attack in order to have a clear path to the throne. Turn 3: Surprisingly, Thany can OHKO the boss with an iron sword (3% crit). Overall notes: Time is lost compared to the previous version, but most of that has to do with Thany using an iron sword (2HKO) instead of a killer lance (1HKO), as well as keeping Chad alive. It might save time to swap Zealot and Cecilia, but only if Zealot’s not targeted (they’re both at lv 1 and thus gain exp at the same rate). Chapter 20 *New* Turn 1: Since the beginning sequence is a bit hard to follow; Cecilia moves out of ballista range, Oujay trades Roy an armorslayer, Roy then trades Thany the same armorslayer. Later on Miledy swaps a hammerne for a warp then rescue-drops Niime. Turn 2: Niime repairs the warp staff in order to level-up, which gives her a point of str and therefore allows her to warp an extra space next chapter. Miledy then gives Niime her warp back. Thany manages an armorslayer crit thanks to the Roy support. Overall notes: This approach is considerably slower than foregoing the warp repair, though the repair would have to be done anyway in a future chapter. This may or may not be worth it depending on the gains from the extra warp range next chapter. Chapter 21 *New* Overall notes: A few hundred frames faster than the near-identical older method thanks to the extra warp range. It also turns out that the additional warp range is necessary for Roy to be able to seize, so the C20 turn 2 hammerne use is mandatory. Chapter 22: Couldn’t spot much that could really be improved from the latest attempt. Percival should’ve used the hammer instead of the armorslayer and I should’ve gone for the 1st available crit instead of worrying about his level-up. I also should’ve manipulated one of the armors’ speeds so that Fa wouldn’t get doubled. Marcus and Zealot can trade places, and the paladin on the right should be unarmed. Maybe disarm Roy on turn 2 (the druid would kill Lalum). Niime either needs to be rescued on turn 3 or crit the merc she faces on turn 2 EP.

Chapter 16: Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cEJ_I_VWjk Turn 1: You'll notice I chose not to deply Fa, a lot of time was wasted by that Purge bishop. The moves remain the same as before, with Thany using the Killer Lance (needs to lower her avoid enough so the merc can hit her). Turn 2: Not getting a crit on the EP may be slower, but it prevents Thany from being hit in this turn and still allows for Skl/Luk level up. Turn 3: Slim Sword crit on the armor. With only 1 HP, the Purge Bishop goes for Thany and not Percival. Turn 4: I can kill that bishop now with Slim Sword, and crit the mercenary. It's light weight allows Thany to easily dodge the two mages. Turn 5: Have to go back to Killer Lance for Douglas. The armour in the boss chamber decides to use a Javelin this time, which is faster. Turn 6: Narshen is killed, again gaining Skl/Luck level up. Roy shifts 3 RNs for the next chapter. This saves a good amount of time over the previous iteration of this chapter, mostly from not luring that Purge bishop away in turn 1. I also managed to squeeze more Sword use, and got Thany up to 26 wexp, ever close to that D rank. Chapter 17: Encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0-6t36TE8A This is the first Ilia chapter, and all of the maps in Ilia benefit hugely from Thany's flight. Turn 1: Thany collects Roy, and is danced. Note I only move 9 spaces before the dance, otherwise I can't rescue Lalum into a safe spot with Miledy and will cause a round of combat. After the dance Thany heads directly north. Turn 2: It's hard to tell, but I'm shifting RNs for the Turn 4 enemy phase. Turn 3: More RN shifting. I only move 9 spaces again, which prevents the Sleep Staff bishop from attacking, and causes the mage and archer in the south to head west, preventing them from being able to attack next EP. Turn 4: Dropping Roy here keeps him out of most of the combat. Thany uses the Slim Sword to kill the armours here (the second one has an Axereaver, which is why she was able to 2HKO). Roy dodges the mage but gets hit by the Purge, validating the use of that Angelic Robe a little more. Turn 5: Amazingly, I was able to get a very close Slim Sword double crit and finish off the boss, gaining HP/Luck in the process. Roy seize. This chapter pushes Thany ever closer to reaching D Swords, now having 34 wexp out of 51 needed, two-thirds of the way there. In terms of support points, they now have enough to get C Support at the start of the next chapter, which gives me the ability to pull off crits on the last few bosses.
