First of all, I saved 298 frames (almost five seconds) from the beginning to the end of the first level. It's easy to optimize this game; I made this in 20-30 minutes and I don't think I can improve it. Also, all of the first level's 47 lag frames from the level are gone in VBA24-M (more accurate emulation makes this level lag-free), and I suggest you restart your run on VBA24-svn422 and optimize everything.

which level are you refferingto?
The first one where you can use all four characters, for one. You change to Alex to jump when it looks like you can just use Marty. Also, disregard my advice about jumping. No matter how long you hold A, you always jump the same height.

Me? OK, I'll help you out. Just PM me the levels as you finish them and I'll make sure they're optimized. Will that work for you?

Thanks for helping out, nitrogenesis! We're going to keep working on the later levels; I have no doubt that any improvement can be hexed in without a problem.

I like it. It looks really good how you can make it passed Melvin's stage without using the hide. Keep up the good work.

Might as well say it... run's paused due to vacations we both have (lucky us). I would say that the run will be finished by the end of the year.

The run has been slowly progressing as both YoungJ and I have been busy with school. We are at the beginning of Lemur Liberation now (which is somewhat hard to optimize, but it should be smooth sailing after that), after which we'll be about two-thirds done with the game. Now that it's summer, the run should be finished in the next few months. Just ask if you'd like the movie file or an encode.

Here you go! And here is an encode. In the minigame where you whack away the foosa with Melman, the fastest way to clear a foosa is to have it hit Melman (though this can only be done 4 times without dying). Also, I got to use subpixel optimization for the ledges in the Melman's Sneeze Jump level. Didn't expect to have to do that in this game.
