Anyone remember this game? I do ;P It was a very hard game when I was a kiddie. Anyways, I tried to do a time attack of it and it wasn´t that hard. Anyways, my ROM (as always) is kinda shit. So there are some graphic bugs in some levels. However, this doesn´t affect my running more then it looks kinda miserably. So, is it my ROM yet again that fails or is it all ROMs? And if it´s my ROM only would it be an idea of making a time attack of this game?

Making a perfect time attack of trojan would require soo many (5 digits) rerecordings if I did it. It is really hard to do perfect and very random. A good time attack of it would impress me much.

I can do a pretty good one tonight. But this graphic bug.. Would it be in all versions? I mean if I send it to Bisqwit, would he see these graphic errors?

Most probably. You are using the same emulator and the same version, after all.

Yeah =/ Well.. Since it´s a pretty short game Ill give it a try anyways. If it fails in bisqwits hands then it does´t matter that much.

My time attack is done. Dunno whether this graphical issue will be a problem. Hope not =) The time was 07:40 and I think that´s almost the fastest possible anyone can make.

Have you tried using another version of the ROM? Perhaps the Japanese version does not contain this "bug."

Watched the run. I enjoyed it. I see what you mean by "graphic bug."

Yeah, but with a proper rom it could be solved. I think that´s a cool game actually. Kinda simple but cool.

but are roms not just illegal if you keep them for over 24h?

All disclaimers says that you have to own the real cartridge if you want´s to download any roms. Atleast that´s my experience, however im not sure if this is a real "law" or if it´s made up by some ROM-dude out there to make it sound ok. Unfortunately I think they are illegal.

hmm, could someone see the exact laws for roms and such, if the 24h is the _real_ law, if the site i posted was illegal i'm sorry, just wanted to help the cause =)

Hi, folks! I have found a pretty nice glitch that allows Trojan to keep his sword still; quite difficult to explain what I mean, so it is better to see the video. Basically, I believe this bug can be a potential time saver, because the enemy is hit immediately after it touches the sword, rather than swinging his sword, for each hit; you loose frames by doing that, yes? Now, unfortunately it seems that this glitched out attack only works on enemies/bosses in the right screen, but I'm happy anyway, lol. I had to figure out forsome time how I manage to pull the glich of, but as soon as I found out how I did it, I wrote it down: by pressing up + down + left + (A) he does this "attack"; These keys or buttons (if you use a game pad) must be pressed all the time, in order for Trojan to keep his position. I set up this "move" so it's on one key (in my case the "Y" key) then I use the auto hold function in the emulator. Phew! Long post; much info. If you have any questions, please ask me things. Have a nice day. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/55419804460793269 Moderator edit: I moved your posts here. Please use the main game thread for discussing new research. — moozooh

Thanks Diman, will check out this weekend. In order to save time in this game, even 1 frame is enough because the subpixel positions can be refined and some levels (mostly before a boss) has 1-2 frame delay (pause un pause mostly) to influence bosses. Will update this post.

My pleasure! 'have finally learned to use TAS-studio. That's a huge happy pill!! Now, I can take TASing to the next level; for instance.... That darn armadillo boss; had problems with him for a long time, how one could make him "un-roll" on each side every time. Anyway, I didn't redo the entire vid; merely re-recorded about half of the game. Until next post! :) http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/55460359165630187
