So, we post our favorite video game music now?
I would have created another topic if it weren't superfluous. I'm happy to see people contribute to the topic again since the revival. I would have liked to see more specific suggestions and links to audio, but it's a start. Thanks for contributing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_ym7LUD_gs The World Ends With You - Déjà Vu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkxP_GVly7Y For the Frog the Bell Tolls - The Prince's Adventure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_t65sP4Lxc Final Fantasy Adventure - Rising Sun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALOfV6tNOzM Dragon Seeds - Battle on the Holy Plane (very obscure game, surprised I know it myself) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wqv5wxKDSIo Scott Pilgrim vs. the World - Another Winter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QL8ygb9X03M X-Men vs. Street Fighter - Gambit Stage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsnJRyTlFb0 Okami - Ryoshima Plains 1 & 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy2thlIa_hU Legend of Mana - Pain the Universe

Oh, I think I can empathize with this. There's definitely a 'tropical' and 'fresh' feel to this soundtrack, as well as many other works by Mitsuda. I especially like his works that have a Celtic sound to them.

Also, indie PC game Aquaria has a wonderfully beautiful and atmospheric soundtrack. My favorite is the Mithalas Cathedral theme, a wonderful song in a game full of those. /Edit: Replaced the link with one that works.

Magneto Magneto again Magneto yet again Magneto once again Just to get that out of the way. (Themes are from X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 respectively) And from the same series, Captain America (Marvel Super Heroes theme). Even better when pitched up. And Akuma's X-Men vs. Street Fighter theme. Which in turn leads me to Street Fighter: More of Akuma. (Alpha 2 and Hyper SF2 respectively). Adon (Alpha 2 again) Abel, C. Viper, Gouken, Volcanic Rim and Deserted Temple (Street Fighter 4) Oni's theme (Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition) And then there's also the Mega Man series. I'm not going to list every single favorite as it'd be very long (though I feel tempted to do it), so I'll just pick the best Robot Master/Maverick/whatever stage theme from each game. Mega Man 1: Ice Man Mega Man 2: Flash Man Mega Man 3: Gemini Man Mega Man 4: Dust Man Mega Man 5: Crystal Man Mega Man 6: Blizzard Man Mega Man 7: Shade Man Mega Man 8: Frost Man Mega Man 9: Splash Woman Mega Man 10: Chill Man Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge: Elec Man Mega Man II: Air Man Mega Man III: Spark Man Mega Man IV: Pharaoh Man Mega Man V: Saturn Mega Man 8 Saturn: Tengu Man Mega Man & Bass: Cold Man Mega Man Powered Up: Time Man Mega Man X: Storm Eagle Mega Man X2: Flame Stag Mega Man X3: Volt Catfish Mega Man X4: Jet Stingray Mega Man X5: Duff McWhalen Mega Man X6: Blaze Heatnix Mega Man X7: Soldier Stonekong Mega Man X8: Avalanche Yeti Mega Man Xtreme: Magna Centipede Mega Man Xtreme 2: Tunnel Rhino Maverick Hunter X: Flame Mammoth Mega Man X3 PSX: Gravity Beetle Mega Man Zero: Anubis Necromancess III Mega Man Zero 2: Kuwagust Anchus Mega Man Zero 3: Blazin' Flizard Mega Man Zero 4: Sol Titanion Mega Man ZX: Lurerre the Abysroid Mega Man ZX Advent: Aeolus Phew.

Recently I've enjoyed the music from Ufouria (which DeceasedCrab has been LPing) but there isn't a rip of it on Zophar's Domain, which is where I go to get lossless quality (like nsf and so on) rips. Anyone know where I can get it, or failing that how you rip it?

I'm sure he plays the piano a lot but take note that he's playing that for only the second time, and while reading from the sheet. Yeah, I meant "lots of practice will make you good at sight-reading", not "lots of practice will let you play that piece". If I practiced that piece a lot I could probably play it better than he did while sight-reading it, but that's not nearly as impressive. :)

So lately, I've rediscovered the music of one of my favorite games of my (very, very screwed up) childhood: Tactical Ops Next to the very Unreal Tournament-y Rock, the soundtrack mainly consists of very heavy, ambient tunes, the two crowning tracks of which are, in my opinion, Knight and Snowy

Who would have guessed that Plants vs. Zombies, of all games, would have quite a good soundtrack. Turns out, it does.

This has to be my favorite BFM track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_26-7g5sq2k In addition to how awesome it is, actually playing the part of the game that it's paired with lends much more feeling to the track. Musashi is plowing through dozens of robot enemies while rushing forward to the end of the game.

I bought Super Meat Boy off the Steam summer sale a couple of days ago and holy crap is the soundtrack good! You can listen to it here. I recommend tracks 3, 5, 6, 7 and 12. There is also some 8-bit goodness on there, check out tracks 24, 25 and 27. Really, the whole album is just golden.

I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

I am pretty much obsessed with video game music, let me get that out of the way first. Second off, for those who can manage to navigate a Japanese website, a large group of people from 2ch run polls for favorite video game music (the recent one, the 6th annual ranking ends on Saturday actually, and here's a link to the videos for the 5th) and put together a wiki over here, and I've personally been following it since the OP/ED rankings done at the beginning of this year. Definitely worth a look if you're really into this kind of stuff, you find a lot of new songs that you never would have found out about elsewhere. Anyway, as for my favorite songs I'll just copy/paste my vote for the recent poll (descending order, of course): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-r0DIoQ_iA Pursuit ~Cross-Examination - Gyakuten Saiban 2 (Phoenix Wright: JFA) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Szr0TSXcWok Fly to the Leaden Sky - Battle Garegga http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjuOuIkythI Pursuit - Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsk ni Kiyu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAy3nlATLkk Gensokyo Millennium ~History of the Moon - Touhou Eiyashou ~Imperishable Night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5FR_i-EbDc Danger - Secret of Mana http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggGPqnkCihY 02 - Kirby 64 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBaoMKoABlY Last Battle -T260G- - SaGa Frontier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfST-dLgGcQ The Flame and the Arrow - Rudra no Hihou http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsSm6CgCF6M Clocktower's Beat - Haunted Castle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL_xLGoLcx8 battle on the plane of holy - Dragonseeds (so good it's being recommended twice in this thread :D) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDZYS7Gc5TQ Decisive Battle - Final Fantasy V http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF--oI9R8zw Boss Battle - Battle & Get! If you like VG music it is your DUTY to play vvvvvv. If that convinced you, don't listen to this, it's kind of a spoiler in a way that the music is so good that the moment you hear it in the game you stop what you're doing to listen to it, but if you still don't believe me, listen and then go buy this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjyhx49BIzc (listen to it loud)
