question: this new zelda game is coming out for the new nintendo machine right? link turning into a wolf? while its an ok idea, i personaly think that zelda games should stay away from the whole transformation area. it just doesn't work well for the series. i thought majora's mask was the worst one of the lot honestly. at most, you should be able to control other people of diffrent races at times. also i think its about time they started pushing zelda games into the more mature areas of gaming. he's had what, like 10 games all cutesy and fluffy, its about time they made a serious looking one. i mean we've seen gannon(dorf) so many times as a pig its just not surprising anymore. i want to see some demonic looking ghost type gannon. someone that just screams i'm a bad. not a big pig, or a person with funny looking hair. no need for blood or guts, thats going a bit to far, but just general scary looking bosses, enemies and atmosphere and i'm be a happy guy.

Yeah, right. Link didn't grow a beard when he became an adult in Ocarina of Time, so I don't think there's any hope for that ever happening. Of course it's not always the same Link in every game, but ...

then again, judging from that pic up there it looks like link is barly in his 20s if that. mabye late teens. i wouldn't exactly call that old enough for a beard (yes i know you COULD grow one, but who wants one that young?) and after finding out this game is on gamecube i freaked out. who knew gamecube could have such good graphics. hell if they made games like this, GC wouldn't be next to extinct now. but that aside, whatever his age, this new game is looking to be exactly what i was talking about, a mature adult link game. not some kiddy game with cel-shaded graphics and a talking boat (seriously wtf lol)

That's the sort of ignorant statement that really ticks me off. >_< Maturity being tied to looks? Give me a break! Yeah, I'm a bit of an anomaly here in that I'm not liking how this game is shaping up. To me, it's little more than Nintendo buckling to peer pressure in order to "look cool", and what I perceive makes me feel uncomfortable. I loved Wind Waker's style. For me, it captured the spirit of fun and excitement that embodies the series. I'm not saying the series can't be serious; in fact, I think it should be, and Wind Waker delivered on both fronts. People seem to be losing sight of the "fun" and just want to feel "manly."

Yeah, I don't get why people have a problem with the LOOK of Wind Waker. The game looks amazingly good to me. The problem of that game wasn't the looks, it was the vast, empty world map and the lack of dungeons... And that new Link looks completely awful. What happened to his trademark green clothes and his long hair? It's like he got the "queer eye for the straight guy" treatment.

well to me wind waker was fun, but it just all seemed to me that it was really marketed toward the younger players as opposed to mid - late teens. i actualy like the graphics in WW because, as you say, captured the spirit of the game. just something about playing WW just makes me want to go on rupee (spelling?) hunts through grass and pots for some reason instead of questing. after seeing that side of the link genre for so long though, i just think its time to show another side. and yes its also true that looking great doesn't automaticly mean that the game is going to be mature, but it helps a little. but then again when i play games i rarely worry about the graphics for more than the first 15 min. if its got the gameplay elements i'm looking for i love it, childish or not. take secret of mana, basic sprite game yet its my fav rpg even till today. graphicly, yes the new zelda looks awesome IMO, i just hope they have all the right stuff in the other places that really matters. EDIT - and about his clothes, he still has the green set up. they aren't just fluro green. more of a greeny brown sort of colour. to me it looks like something anyone would go hunting with at those times. i do agree he needs the long blonde hair though. mabye its all tucked up in that giant floppy hat he has but it just doesn't seem like link without the hair

Personally, I think that the word "mature" in computer gaming is completely different than what it should be. I think a game like Baldurs Gate (not the DA series) is a mature game because of it's detail etc. Just my views.

Delayed till next year. I'll let you guys fight amongst yourselves on this one. I'm having some pretty mixed reactions here.

TSA had some comments at SDA about that... oh well... i cant help but think of this as marketing technique to make the game even more desireable... but then again, rushing anything usually has a horrendous backlash.

I don't really want to TAS this game, I created this topic because I have been playing the game a lot, and I really want to see this game TASed. Here are some things I found out about the game (keep in mind I have only played the wii version so I don't know if the tips work on the GC version): 1)There are two places in castle town that you can morph/warp, behind the STAR tent and just outside Telma's bar. 2)The items inside jars can be manipulated, such as: if you use an arrow(maybe more) before opening a jar, crate, ect. then you are more likely to find arrows. 3)I don't know if they tell you this in the game, but pressing A repeatedly while swimming allows you to go significantly faster.

That topic is so old and doesn't even discuss much, the last post was made in 2005 for crying out loud....I don't see anything wrong with this new topic.

Or one of them could just be deleted. Probably this one because the other one is really old (and historic). EDIT: That's better.

I found a glitch in the Argorok battle (boss of the City in the Sky) I posted a video on my account: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBvA_dbev-E Looking for more things that can be abused in this game. Will post later.

Yeah Parax's new run is very nice. He showed a lot of things which I was not aware of, like the Zant fight and a few new tricks.

The 3:56 was a single segment, but the 3:09 does have a lot of new stuff in it.

A TAS of this would certainly be fun. But ~2:30 is still a loooooong run. Especially since that is basically all play time, no cutscenes, other than in OoT or MM. Considering the state Dolphin is in at the moment I don't see that happening for a while. Btw. could lja-ing all over the place be faster than rolling for a tas? Another thought I had watching Parax's run: Could you kill the monsters you use to EMS while you are doing EMS somehow? That might shave off a few seconds, since then you could warp back there...

I'd say it could be faster, but mostly circumstantial. Only in huge stretches of land.

Yeah, I think the author said that for one of the glitches, resetting at a precise time is necessary to pull it off. A TAS could always do that, but it wouldn't need near as many segments.
