I'd like to see a run that gets only the Diskun trophy (get all the bonuses) as fast as possible.

You would need to play through the singleplayer modes several times for this. And don't forget the ones like "used continues". I doubt this would be very interesting. Why not doing a run for the "You played 1'000'000 vs. matches!" -achievement?
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

If I recall correctly, there is a bonus that you can get by having Celebi appear. From Smashwiki:
Celebi is very special among the Pokémon who can be summoned. First of all, it must be unlocked; it won't appear out of a Poké Ball until all playable characters and stages have been unlocked, the Sound Test has been unlocked, all Event Matches have been completed, and Score Display has been unlocked.
Have fun TASing that.

Oh, I forgot about all of those. Bad idea then. I was thinking about all those interesting ones like Power Shielder and Meteor Survivor.

Yeah, when it comes to including special bonuses, you'll probably have to be quite selective, but I think the more the merrier in this case - would add some variety, I feel, as well as demonstrating some of the things the game intends in a frantic melee environment. Some of the more entertaining fighting game TASes published do take damage, so it would be nice to show some of the stuff like Meteor Survivor. A one sided TAS where the controlled players perfect each battle gets boring quickly I find.

I still think 2P/4P exhibition matches are the way to go for TASing this game. You could do a Score match to show off all sorts of random bonuses.

I think it would be a decent idea to TAS all 51 events in one run. Many events force to use a particular character, and other events also would be done by multiple different characters because each is good at its own thing.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. That's, for a change, is a good idea. Same with HRC and Btt. The problem would be you would have to redo everything just to include an improvement for one single character/event. On the other hand, maybe DTM input can be hexed. In Kirby Super Star it's a greater problem, since any% and 100% WIPs aim to complete all modes in one movie. Nothing can be hexed at all. Progress is so slow we still didn't get anything done...

Like NitroGenesis said in the GC submission, I think it would be great to see All-Star Mode TASed using a suboptimal character. Jigglypuff would be fine as long as the Rest move isn't used (Instant KO), and there are other characters that could be called suboptimal, like Dr. Mario. And all Event Matches sounds great too. That would make a good run with lots of variety and wide appeal.

^^this would be awesome for a tas, it doesnt get boring and it would look awesome, only thing is it would take a long time to tas all the events unless you can just compile the current tas records, but are you allowed to do that?

Problems: Events needs a horrid amount of luck-manipulation. Probably you will have to re-enter a match/event (and stay there possibly for minutes) only so you can get the perfect luck for the next event - even if you throw the event match order around, it would suck to TAS. Imagine you will have to use Luigi, Peach, Game&Watch for HRC and aren't allowed to use cheats, it would suck majorly to do the strat over and over until you get lucky. More than a half of the event matches haven't been TASed yet. Those that have been TASed were made on different dolphin versions, with different settings, or the DTMs may not even exist or the authors may not reply/agree to provide the DTM. It will be impossible to splice any DTMs. Also, I'm not sure if the Masterhand glitch in event 4 works, last time I tried dolphin froze. I hope that covers it. A TAS of Btt/HRC/Events would be great, but it would be a hell for whoever is TASing it.

The Masterhand glitch in event 4 works on the dolphin r7621, but it was not possible to manipulate the Yoshi with save&load states.

I wanted to ask if they want to make a playaround this game with all sorts of glitches, Battles 2 players, 3 players or 4 players is what I think it would be very entertaining one TAS playaround of SSBM.

All of the points of having an all-trophies TAS are well-taken and I agree that it would be completely insane and unwatchable, but out of curiosity, I'm wondering if such a TAS is possible: The Olimar trophy (or one of the Pikmin ones at least, I forget) is only obtained by having a Pikmin save on a memory card. Is this possible with Dolphin? Also, has anyone ever TASed the credits? I looked on YouTube but didn't see anything.

Here's a TAS of the credits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-A5rQm9Xro&feature=player_detailpage#t=306s

Can one take damage in Btt/Rttf/Trophy stage in Classic Mode and still obtain the No damage clear bonus?

I would say it will calculate as taked damage! In SSB64 it will calculate as taking damage at end for the points. But i can be wrong.

*sigh* I can kinda understand the "No items Fox only* Final Destination" mentality when it comes to competitive play, but I'm really looking forward to TASes that use the remaining 99% of the game. That was just...boring. * Okay, 85% Fox and the rest is split between Marth, Sheik, and Falco.

The problem is you can't distinguish the occassions where the player does something truly awesome or when it's just abusing the AI by save-stating. It'd maybe be fun to see some well thought out pvp TASes, but it'd be tough to make them look better than real matches. So people on other threads are finding memory adresses, but melee still doesn't have it's own yet! I just wanted to point this out.

I take it by "people", you mean me. I'll look into it. I'm getting pretty good at this, so it shouldn't be too bad. Hell, it'll probably take me longer to procure a Melee ISO.
