Hi, I'm somewhat new to speedrunning this game so I'm not sure if this has been discovered yet, but I found this glitch in Pianta Village Episode 5 and though it might be useful in a TAS. Link to video

Awesome! it will be used of course! No need of the yoshi, just go directly.

Combine this with the ability to get into Pianta Village without the Rocket Nozzle, and I think you could do all of Pianta Village as your first level. No idea if this would be faster, but as long as it doesn't lose time, it'd be neat for the TAS.

One thing that bothers me is the constant event reminders between levels.

So what's the final time? Even if this isn't a true TAS, it'll be good to have a baseline when we start the real one.

I really wish people would stop posting Nicovideo links and stick to Youtube. Those NicoVideo links don't work for me. I can't read japanese or whatever language it is on those sites.

These TASes were originally posted on Nicovideo. How should we link to them if Nicovideo is the only place they can be watched? It's not our fault that you can't properly use that site. There is a German, Spanish and Chinese translation and even without, you can use guesswork or ask someone for help. Also, at least the nicovideo player links should have worked as the videos should load automatically. Maybe you are lacking an adobe flash player version update?

Google Chrome translates Nicovideo automatically anyway. With all of the tools you can use to browse the site, there shouldn't be any problems; especially if it is the ONLY available place to watch the videos. If you aren't willing to put in the work to open a specific browser (and maybe sign up, even though MUGG has been posting videos where you DON'T have to) and at least try, then maybe you should reconsider complaining about nothing.

Hmm...Not sure, I supposed I COULD be missing an Adobe Flash Update. But I thought mine was fully updated. I should check. Edit: Yep! Apparently I was missing something. I DID have 10.1 already, but I'm starting to think maybe it didn't install correctly the first time. Nothing even remotely close to a video ever loaded before. Thanks for the suggestion. :3

The Boss of Tricky Ruins in 27"77 by ReneBalow Timing works like it does for SM64; it is the first off black frame until the shine celebration starts, divided by 30 (30 FPS game, not 60).

For the first time ever... Mario Sunshine just got a lot more prettier.. Talk about maintaining the momentum. The glitch in the end made the whole thing 10 out of 10 :) I reckon he is "just" tasing various shines/stars and not the whole game right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=088zBw18t4g This still happens in r7128. I don't know if there was a fix recently, but it should be fixed before starting a TAS...

I knew it, that it in Pianta Village works without Yoshi. I came all right in the tree, but i don't have managed under the yellow slime. Do you make now a list from Sunshine?

Hello. I might make a more complete list as more videos appear. Maybe I'm gonna try to create some TASes myself later... For now I'm still just messing around with SSBM.

I'm by no means a TASer, but I'd like to contribute to the Super Mario Sunshine TAS coming to this site in the near future. My speedrun of Episode 3 in Ricco Harbor uses a faster method of getting onto the boat than the one that NintendoG8mer used in his TAS. You can save some additional time by manipulating the crane to move in the direction of the cage as you approach it, then follow that by lunging onto the very edge of the crane and using the Hover Nozzle until you reach the bottom of the cage. This would have been in my speedrun had I not gotten tired from attempting it many times.

Hey, I've been wondering about a couple things. http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9408/sunshinea.png Is it possible to reach this shine somehow, by wall clipping, possibly with fruit or an enemy, or by going underground? And if it works what would happen if you get it in episode 1? Would it unlock all the shines in Gelato Beach? If so, wouldn't it skip 5 shines? Also, in Pianta Village you can clip directly into the Secret of the Village Underside. Does this skip 4 shines? I'm guessing it wouldn't be possible to skip into the secret caves in Ricco Harbor or Bianco Hills, since the triggers aren't loaded anyway (?).

I'm not quite sure about the Gelato Beach one, but there is no loading zone for the Secret of the Village Underside in any Episode other than Episode 5. I'll look into the Gelato Beach one for you later today if I have time. You have to complete all the Shadow Mario Episodes in each level, so I'm not sure if skipping it will count as beating it. If it counts as beating it and we can do it, we can skip seven shines. EDIT: There is no Rocket Nozzle in Gelato Beach until Episode 5, so that option is out from Episodes 1-4. With fruit I was unable to glitch into the pod the Shine Sprite is in, but I managed to glitch into the counter, which put me at a slightly lower ground than normal. Unfortunately, there was nothing I was able to do at that point, as the area inside the counter is on a slightly higher ground than the area outside the counter. I tried going out of bounds as well, but there is an invisible wall blocking you from getting under it on episodes 1 and 5. I'm not sure if it exists in other episodes, but I don't have much time to experiment right now because I have something important to attend to.

In Pianta Village is it not possible when you start it from episode 1. I have tested it. also, in Bianco Hills is it not possible to skip the Secrect cave. here a example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52eC4hJ__oE And i think in Ricco Harbor is it the same way.
