Scream the name of the encoder you like best and I'll tally them up when the TASer awards are done. Just simply list a single encoder that did work in 2010. What's the prize? Eh, nothing really special. I'll pay for a commission of the winners choice from Flacko if you want, in T-shirt form! But there is no trophies. If the winner rejects the prize, runner up gets it. Why am I doing this? Because I got nothing better in life to do. :D 'Others' tally: Edit: You can't vote for two people at once, I should have made that clear initially. Edit 2: Added poll... previous results are irrelevant.

MisterEpic.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

All of the encoders are awesome because they make my life easier, but if I have to choose just one I pick Aktan.

You should all thank me for TASing a game that actually made HD encoding a reality for TASvideos. :-p On a serious note, encoding is the real grunt work of the publication side of TASvideos, so I'd like to see some recognition - not just because I encode runs myself, but because it shows the appreciation of the work and effort and time involved.

I really should have added a Don't vote for yourself clause. Too late now, heh. I vote Mister Epic, by the way. He's a very enthusiastic encoder, and has a strong future ahead of him.

You can just cancel Toothache's vote and ask him to vote again.

Wow! Thanks! By the way, my future is more about working in the video game industry than video encoding. This is more like a pastime, like gaming. Ok now I'll vote. Arrrrg... I don't know if I want to vote for Flygon or Aktan... Both are really good encoders and both thaught me important stuff about encoding... Sorry Flygon, but I'll go with Aktan, but he won by a little bit. The only thing that made me choose him is the fact he thaught me complicated stuff such as encoding N64 and PSX.

Grunt. He helped me getting started with HD encoding and gave me various tips. He was patient with me aswell.

My vote is between Grunt and Aktan. While Grunt thought me how to do high quality encodes, and Aktan make realy intense encodes. But then again, Grunt most probably can make better encodes than the one i do with my learning with him. I think my vote goes for Aktan.

Notice I didn't actually vote for anyone, I was just trying to inject some humour here.

mmarks, of course!
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I think this should be done so that there's a footage you all must encode and then the audience will judge the quality of it and then we shall compare the file sizes and then the one who has the biggest file size has to climb the tallest palm tree and whoever brings me the most beautiful lady can skip two obstacles of his/her choice on the obstacle course and then the president will say "You all should bring me those pumpkins" and then Tom Cruise falls off of his box and there will be blood which is cleaned by Samuel L. Jackson, because he doesn't like blood, because he once saw this rhino on the beach where he was standing for no reason and the encoder who tames this rhino and can jump a fence on it will get the advantage and in the end Aktan or Grunt will tie and they have to go to a tie-breaker which is a kissing contest.

Y'know, you're all awesome, awesome people. But I think Dacicus deserves some recognition for all the work he (she?) has done in re-encoding our older movies. Every few weeks we get a massive storm of new encodings which greatly improve the entertainment value of those old runs for those of us who can't/don't watch movies in emulators.

Flygon.
Sage advice from a friend of Jim: So put your tinfoil hat back in the closet, open your eyes to the truth, and realize that the government is in fact causing austismal cancer with it's 9/11 fluoride vaccinations of your water supply.

Poll basically reset because manually updating this is stupid. Previous votes don't count anymore, votes after this post will.

Aktan because he took the time to walk me through the encoding process when I started encoding. Many thanks to Grunt, also.

Hey, guys, we need one final tie-breaker vote so that I can close this poll!
