Submission Text Full Submission Page
After my previous submission I thought it was perfect, but I wasn't satisfied. Surely there has to be a way to beat it! If only I could just find a faster way to checkmate. Traditionally it was thought that the fastest checkmate was the 2 move fool's mate, but I've never been satisfied with this consensus. So after much contemplation and soul searching I finally found the answer.
I present to you here, the first ever epic 1 move checkmate.
Enjoy.

Nach: Okay, although it's not explicit in the rules that you can't setup the board, and it is mentioned in the instruction booklet, I'd say this type of movie violates this rule. If we were to view that rule differently, it's already been obsoleted by "better" "cheating".

voted no because of the cheating.

This ushers in a whole new level in CPU-player-into-your-bitch-making. Admittedly, it helps when they thoughtfully include a "make CPU drop trou and bend over" mode.

Impressive that you can shoot yourself in the head more than once.

Wait. What? I don't think "board editor" counts as "should be played on hardest difficulty setting". In that line of thought, can't you just remove the CPU's king?

What nifboy said. The fact that this is more entertaining than any of the other Battle Chess submissions just goes to show how bad chess is for speedrunning.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Editing the opening field to expedite the execution of the Fool's Mate™ would be a good trick for an April Fool's submission, but we are well past that point of the year. As a serious submission (and there is no indication that adelikat intends it be taken any other way,) this is just stupid. No vote.

Bad goal choice, I suspect. This is the same sort of thing as warping right to the end of the game using a level password; and those runs are rejected for good reasons.

Couldnt you just remove the pawns in front of both kings, then start and move your queen in front of of your king for the checkmate?
