Good WIP so far. I'll be awaiting for more progress. As for where you are stuck at, I suggest a well angled jump. Ignore the carrots.

I wonder if jumping early in 1-2 would be faster than walking off?

This looks pretty intriguing, actually. Can anyone provide an encode?

You can download my v2 WIP here. Rom Used: Happy Birthday Bugs (J).nes Time: 03:43.22 Rerecord Count: 980 Frames: 13145 I forgot to say that: In Willy The Weasel Bonus Game, you need 20 carrots to play. About my v2 WIP: That's my 2nd version WIP in this game. Sorry about my previous WIP because I didn't realized that Japan rom is faster than USA rom. In this TAS, I'd make it entartaining by smashing enemies and blocks using a hammer. In 1-2, I include Dwedit's opinion but instead of jumping, I'd smack it with a hammer. In 1-3, I didn't play a bonus round which I save some frames. Collecting Carrots Records: Previous WIP: 1-1 - 5 Carrots 1-2 - 4 Carrots 1-3 - 2 Carrots 1-4 - 3 Carrots Total - 14 Carrots - 10 = 4 Carrots New WIP: 1-1 - 2 Carrots 1-2 - 5 Carrots 1-3 - 2 Carrots 1-4 - 2 Carrots Total - 11 Carrots

Sorry.......... 2-3 - Well, there's no Daffy Duck in Rabbit Session. 2-4 - Another 10 carrots in this stage but not playing Willy The Weasel...... Waaaaaah........ Check out my carrot record also. 2-1 - 2 - 10 for playing Bonus Round 2-2 - 0 2-3 - 6 2-4 - 1 Total - 10 Carrots

Hey, nice job so far, Bhezt Rhy! I used to play this game a lot as a kid, and you're definitely making it look easy. For instance, you're going through most of the bouncy ball enemies while they're the "safe" color. Is that luck manipulation? Also, how is the (J) ROM faster? It seemed pretty similar to the (U) game for me (though I think the world 2 music was different, and of course the opening text is different after hitting Start). Keep it up! EDIT: Fixed the name of Bhezt Rhy. Sorry for the earlier mistake.

I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) I don't know but the bouncy ball enemies always gave an extra heart when you smash it.

Hooray!!!! It's my halfay to TAS!!!! You can download it here Time: 12:30.01 Frames: 40575 Rerecord Count: 6774 World 3 Comments: 3-2 - In this level, I'm trying to dodge those carrots at below but it's too hard and I'd collected it in a huge amount. But not playing a bonus round. 3-3 - After collecting a huge amount of carrots, it's another 10 carrots in this level. About the seesaw. It's too hard to say that I didn't aims for a fastest time by jumping above and jump to a moving platform because there's a lot of carrots and I can't dodge it. 3-4 - Just like in the Carrot Session in 2-3, there's also a block smashing to fall down. About the boss. There are two bosses which is a small Sylvester and an adult Sylvester. After I've defeated a little one, it's too embarrassing to say that you need to jump and smash it quickly so that it can aim in a fastest time. Carrot Collecting Records: 3-1 - 1 - 10 for playing Bonus Round 3-2 - 7 3-3 - 5 - 10 for playing Bonus Round 3-4 - 5 Total - 8 Carrots About mkilp2001 - It's okay but don't worry about your mistake. I'll accept your apology.

Hey, sorry about not getting to this sooner. This WIP looks particularly good! World 3 is really where the game starts looking particularly difficult, and the health management is great, especially in 3-2 and 3-4. I almost forgot that you can't actually use the hammer when damaged... you really make it look like this is never a problem! However, I have a couple concerns. With the seesaw in 3-3, it seems like a seesaw bounce can still reach the moving platform earlier, so why do you wait as long as you do before hitting the seesaw? And is it possible to avoid the very first carrot in 3-4, since you didn't take that upper path? Also, the start of the block breaking in 3-4 would make a good screenshot, with the sliding frog that you just hit with the hammer.

Thanks. I guess we both make mistakes with usernames, don't we? :-) I'm not offended though.

In 3-3, I tried to get in the moving platform earlier but it falls to the hole and it's impossible to do this. And in 3-4, it's impossible to do that since I can't reach it. Note: The Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout is currently "On Hold" due to PC problems. In this forum, I posted it in an Internet Cafe. I will continue it when it fixes.

Sorry to keep you waiting........ I'm so very sorry but I need to cancel this TAS because this run is very hard and I am doing again an another version of this TAS.... As for rom, I don't know if I would still use a J rom because as for rules, English text is preferred. In my another version of this TAS, I'll make it optimized by collecting less carrots, and doing more speed. But I'd still do for entertainment. PS: I'll do this TAS again right after I'd finish Hamtaro: Rainbow Rescue in Game Boy Advance.

Well, I'm back! Here is my first WIP of another TAS. Emulator Used: FCEUX 2.1.4a Rom Used: Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout, The (U).nes Time: 03:45.08 Frames: 13505 Rerecord Count: 1151 About this WIP: Once again, this run uses USA rom. I don't think I prefer foa a Japan rom because of shorter japanese text. But J version is faster than U version. This run completes first world in fastest (plus entertaining) time. I made it entertaining by smashing enemies and blocks with a hammer..... Level by Level Comments: 1-1 - I found a new route which is faster than just climbing a ladder. 1-2 - I saved at least two carrots collected in this level. 1-3 - No comment... :( 1-4 - Once again, no comment...

Oh hi, welcome back! I'm glad to see this run is making progress! I watched your old WIP on the Japanese version and this latest WIP. Nice little improvements, especially in 1-1. It was also nice to see fewer carrots collected. I just have a question or two: * Does sloped ground affect your walking speed? * Do moving platforms or enemies affect your speed? At one point near the top of Stage 1-2, you walk on a clock enemy who's moving to the right, but you jump off it quickly. Would it be faster to stay on top of it for a few more frames?

Thanks, mklip2001. But J version is still faster than U version, though.

Well, I don't know. But I'd watched Ferret Warlord's Ardy Lightfoot TAS and he just walked to an uphill.

Yes. But in stage 1-2, I'd need to jump on a moving clock more than just walking so I can dodge those carrots to reduce collecting carrots. You can see this image below for evidence. EDIT: Correcting grammars...

Stage 2 is finally done. You can download my WIP here. Time: 08:08.33 Frames: 29300 Rerecord Count: 3115 About this WIP: This TAS completes the Desert Stage in fastest time. Well, it just saved at least 320 frames unlike in 1st Stage which my previous WIP is 90 frames faster than my new WIP. Thanks for reducing carrots (and also mklip2001 for support). Stage 2 Comments: 2-1 - In Rabbit Season, I'd saved at least one carrot and it didn't play a bonus round unlike in my previous WIP. Good thing I'd used an angle jump. 2-2 - Once again, I didn't collect any carrots in this level just like in my previous WIP. 2-3 - Oh no! I'd totally got at least one carrot and played a bonus round. But check also the tornado flight. And in Rabbit Session, there are lots of block breaking just like in Level 3-4 2-4 - I'd saved at least one carrot in this level. Thanks for quicksand route. Oh no! I have only one heart left. PS: Please wait for Stage 3 TAS. Maybe this could be saved a lot of carrots.....

Nice! You're working fast. Last time, I asked about sloped ground. I think that if you don't know by now, it would be a really good idea to determine whether jumping costs any time and whether your speed is affected by slopes. This would probably involve finding speed and position memory addresses. If you don't end up finding those, that's cool, but I figured it would be good to know. Also, how does lag work with this game? It seems like this run lags less than your last one because you kill more enemies. Anyway, comments: 2-1: * For that one tall wall, the jump over it looks better. However, would it save more time to jump off of the carrots? You'd collect carrots, but it might be worth it. * You walk over a number of breaking platforms over a sand pit. Would it be better to jump after walking on the first one (to possibly create less lag from the block breaking animations)? 2-2: * Nice job hitting that enemy's bullet out of the air before killing it! Maybe the bullet hit would make a good screenshot suggestion. 2-3: * At one of the first big pits, you seem to slow down a lot to avoid carrots. Is this worth it? * Great tornado jump! 2-4: * Really nice job with this stage. I like the quicksand walk (quite tough to do unassisted), and the boss fight looked better. Keep it up!

Kung Hei Fat Choi TASers! It's year of the Rabbit..... Woohoo! I'm a halfway there.... You can download my WIP here. Time: 12:31.83 Frames: 45110 Rerecord Count: 5594 About this WIP: This TAS completes the Canyon Stage in fastest time. Oh no! My Japan WIP is 35 frames faster than this WIP but I didn't play a bonus round :( Stage 3 Comments: 3-1 - I didn't get a carrot even one but check out also Bugs walking above the defeated clock enemy. 3-2 - I'd saved a few carrots in this level. Oh no! I have only one health left. 3-3 - I can't catch the moving platform just like in my Japan WIP. Oh no again! I have only one health left. 3-4 - Just like in level 2-3, there's also a block smashing. But unlike in level 2-3, there's a frog which i need to kill because I can't smash with a hammer when Bugs takes damage. Please wait for Stage 4 WIP.

Hello again Bhezt Rhy! Sorry it took so long for me to check out this WIP; I was busy, and then FCEUX kept crashing for some reason. Also, I wasn't able to load your old WIP on the Japanese version somehow, so I couldn't compare the two runs. That being said, nice job again! The damage-taking is much more complicated, and the routes are definitely harder to plan, so it doesn't look as optimal as before. However, I trust that you've been testing routes. The play is still quite impressive, since I know how many timed objects you're trying to dodge. (I hated the fireballs from the pits as a kid.) If you're only 35 frames slower than the Japanese version, and the Japanese version has much faster beginning dialogs, then that's a good sign! This run is definitely a little better. I'm really looking forward to Stage 4. I recall Stage 4 being really fun when I was a kid, though it certainly wasn't easy. EDIT: I definitely really liked riding the destroyed clock in 3-1 and hitting the frog away from the blocks in 3-4.
