I think this game would make for an entertaining TAS. The Training and Mission sections may look quite cool when performed flawlessly. I'm not an expert with this game, but I do know some things. I'll try out a TAS once I get bored of Kurushi. Example of training mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icJ8-ZC_aOA

The PC version already has TAS tools. See http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5736 for some incredible videos. Oh yeah, you need a copy of WA to be able to play most of them back. But if you got it, you're in for a treat.

If I'm not mistaken, the PC WA TASers aimed for lowest total turn time. I did a N64 TAS of the first few levels years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTCba-weXhw The loading time on the PSX version surprises me.

I got many desynchs when I played around with that game a while ago. How did you manage?

I persisted. At least playback is deterministic. I actually did a fifth level, and then lost it due to a savestate accident. That's when I stopped. I wouldn't have gone far anyway. I used some plugins (don't remember). Don't know if that had anything to do with sync.

You can set the fuse of grenades between 1 and 5 seconds. It appears you use L2 in the PSX version to change it.

This is a pretty old and maybe forgotten topic, but I wouldn't recommend to tas Worms: Armageddon for PSX. Since there are alreay incredibly amazing TAS videos of every mission of the PC version of this game. It was made by a group of several people, who played it for years and some of them competed online at a very high level. You just can't make TAS as good as they did. If you are interested in seeing their tas missions, you can find them on youtube or watch the replays if you have a copy of the WA game for your PC. However a TAS of Worms World Party has never been made due the lack of the ability to record replays of the PC version. So if anybody considers TASing Worms World Party I would like those people to check out my non tas speedrun attemt of the PC version there --> (it's a playlist) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXCwaNQnxjU&feature=PlayList&p=53C7A66018B1EE88&playnext_from=PL&index=0&playnext=1 I'm still working on it. Of course you can do alot things faster while tasing, but if you need some ideas concerning the strategy for some missions you might get helped there. The game physics of the PSX and PC versions are slightly different, but it doesn't matter much. I wanted to give it a try myself but I just can't get frame advance working. The emulator freezes all the time.

For Worms Armageddon, A playaround would be in order, I'd say, showcasing some of the more improbable shots, etc., comparable to a Tetris run. Well, I'd love to see Worms TAS'ed somehow.

In worms you have to do moves that contain showcase elements in order to complete a mission the fastest way possible, anyway. Here's an example of how impressive the PC version TAS of Worms Armageddon is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7wJNuQYOwg or here: you can't even follow everything what's going on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MOIaNaAf7E. Or look at certain of my non tas missions of Worms World Party like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoXsf5Li41k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ua40DIXuuw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiSqzwLBHyI

These movies look great! I think a TAS could definitely be very interesting.
