I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKeYA78t50U Not sure if it's of use on a TAS, so i posted anyway.

You can also run atop the walls in another portion of the same level (I think the Colored Gem route).

I investigated the topography of the ruin before beginning TAS. There does the long jump from the right and can get a gem.

I remembered that movie was frozen after a battle with Cortex. I have to record the false end to watch the true end. What should I do?
Then if watching that true end is required for your run, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do about it. Unless you can find a workaround, you should stop now and just wait until the next version of PCSX-RR (with a new SPU) arrives. (You will need to restart the movie in that new version of PCSX-RR; that's why I recommend that you don't waste any more efforts using the current buggy version.)
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

When is it going to be fixed?

I think it is already fixed, but we have to wait until everything else is finished too, since it is a pretty big rewrite of most of the code. As to when will everything be finished, no one knows. One developer alone (zeromus) is doing all that work at this moment.

This game is even more broken than I thought. I loved how you accessed the "hidden" area of Turtle Woods through the ground. And then how you defied physics in that area. In Hang Eight the timer should cancel when you access the bonus area. You broke it! Good work. This WIP has to be one of the best thing's I've seen in a long while. Keep it up!!

That's....that's all I can say really. You have brought this kid, who grew up with the Crash trilogy to tears... You bastard. :P

Wow... just wow... (No not world of warcraft!) Really great work so far, seems like a really nice blend of running around like a maniac, destroying stuff that comes in your way and speed. When this gets ready it seems that it will be one of the best TAS'es in here. Certainly one of the most entertaining WIPs I've seen so far. Keep up the good work! :)

This game, Spyro 2, and FFVII make the PSX sound like (worse than) the NES of 3D gaming; note that I never had a PlayStation as a kid (and have never had a Sony console or handheld) and only recently got into trying out these games when I learned that PCSX could run bzipped ISOs, so I'm encountering this stuff for the first time and finding out what I haven't been missing. This isn't meant to disparage the PS2, PS3, or PSP, or the 2D games on the PSX, however.

I've been playing Crash Bandicoot 2 since it hit the market. I discovered lots of stuff (the pit skips for example) pretty quick. But the stuff demonstrated in this video (Entering the hidden area of Turtle Woods through the ground for example), it just shocked me. Naughty Dog especially from all the PSX game developers took some really interesting shortcuts when they wrote the code for the games. As demonstrated by pirohiko's glitched any%. I played Crash 2 (and Crash 3) with those old PS1 controllers they gave out before DualShock. The D-pad movement (especially in Crash 3, which was actually designed for DualShock 1) is amazingly precise. The Crash games are linear 3D platforming at its finest :D

Re: the WIP: Wouldn't it save time to smash some boxes on your first run through of the first level? At around 2:20ish, you have to hit them all at once, for example.

Because you get the Blue gem by not smashing any boxes.

Oh, I thought it was a time thing, like in Hang Eight.

He stopped TASing it, because with the current emulator, he can't watch the true ending. Anyway, i was bored enough, and decided to stream pirohiko's WIP here EDIT: You saw a time-saver on your WIP, in that snow stage, you don't need hit the green metal box to destroy all nitros, since you destroyed all of them before.

Link to video There was the interesting glitch that could ignore the jet pack. It can expect the stage completion that is faster than the normal. Unfortunately I can't use the warp because there is crystal in the section omitted by forced warp. However, I think that enough shortening is possible because I can obtain jet pack when I return to the last checkpoint.

That was ... EPIC! I hope the new version of pcsx will be done soon so that the run can finally be made. ============================

The red gem path contains some nitro boxes, he needs to hit the green !-box to blow them up.
