Thank you but... damn you, I already knew that one, it was one of our surprise that will be included in our submitted run. I found that trick some monthes ago. If you find some other useful trick, I am open. P.S. That trick is indeed useful. We haven't reached A-1 but I already knew it will save a couple of seconds if done optimizedly. I also found some other weird bugs. I try to keep a movie of any bugs that won't be in the run. Edit: Oh while thinking of that, you seems interested to work in that project? I am always open at people interested in same project as me. Project doesn't seem to have progressed a lot lately. While it's true, I admit that I have restarted from stage 1 due to new small timesaver tricks that I found and I'm retesting some things since editing a movie for that game is impossible due to desyncronization because of some random factor.

Phil has been away in months. I have no idea where he is. I really cannot go on without him as he is really the mastermind behind this run. After the restart, we are at 3-2 (I think). Edit: Seems like my former partner has some mental issues because he just scolded me, totally uncalled for. Anyway, he is going to work alone or with someone else.

Too bad. There's some talented people here who just have piss poor mentalities that make them hard to work with. Unless somebody wants to start completely anew on their own, I worry that we'll never see an improvement to this.

Take i easy fellas!.. =) I have been working on this game for a very long while now... Which has actually (the periods I've been tasing) caused me to slept very, very bad.. Anyway, here's a WIP of me playing this game with whip and boomerang, only. After you guys have watched this WIP, please tell me if you think I should continue, or start all over..http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/886045080/Super%20Castlevania%20IV%20by%20D.smv

Unfortunately Diman, you have to redo from scratch if you wanna be extremely nitpicky saving frames. You must basically change your whole gameplay. For instance, you must luck manipulate all enemies to be positioned as high as possible so you can boost longer. You missed a shortcut in 3-1 (I think it was this stage).

i can't give an opinion on whether what you're doing is faster or not, but i find this WIP more entertaining than the published run. throwing crosses around is a lot more visually pleasing.

Thank you for have watching it. Yeah, I found that out when I was speaking with Highness on messenger, that I was slower than Phil and Genisto, at some places.. Good thing I didn't continue with it, and then make a submission of it, when there are obvious flaws.. Do you guys like the concept of using crosses only? I did see now, that Satoryu found this WIP more entertaining so far, than the existing run.. Is there more people with that opinion?

Diman, I'm not sure how your run is compared with the existing run when it comes to frames, but I was entertained the whole way through. In the first castle room (the room BEFORE the swinging chandeliers and crazy music), see if you can try to use a damage boost from a flying axe to get on the first platform at the end of the room instead of climbing the stairs. I've came very close with testing, but it might be doable. Also, I wish there a was a way to get through block 4-4 faster. The waiting for the elevating blocks is painful.

Thank you so much for the tips and your opinions, folks! =) Is it something else I should think about before I start to TASing? Otherwise we can wait with that; I think I'll post a new wip after each stage.. You can judge each stage what you feel about the TAS from that point.. See ya.

Hi. I'm working on completing Super Castlevania 4 with NO hits. Here's a WIP:http://rapidshare.com/files/377685964/Super_Castlevania_IV__USA_.zmv.html.

ZSNES? Really? SCV4 with no hits takes the beauty out of TASing the game. It's a lot slower and wouldn't deserve a separate category.

Yo. Is this game still being worked on, because I'm interested in improving the current run. I don't know if this is new or not, but apparently, the crouching state the game forces you into when jumping from a higher ledge can be avoided by jumping all the time.

It's known. I wish Phil would give us an update as he had an awesome wip. I hope he sees this. COMEBACK PHIL :(

Yes, by three separate parties. Phil is missing in action. Cardboard and Bablo's version is stalled because Bablo is away and Cardboard doesn't want to continue without him. Last I heard about it, arukAdo was ready to begin his own version. If you want to contribute, he's your best bet.

Okay, here's a quick WIP made with Snes9x 1.51 http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1731090186/scimrpehcv4.smv I chose to stick with the cross, though I'm not sure about this choice. Aside from that, if I missed any notable improvements, let me know /and a quick encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gT8YfAKv5Lk

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1765833134/scimrpehcv4.smv First three levels completed. If there's any big improvement I missed, let me know. So far, the cross proved useful enough, though I question wether it will be really worth it in the later levels. /i actually just noticed I missed a smal ltrick in the Waterfall section, bah

Good WIP, scrimpeh. The vertical whip-ring high jumps look really good so far. There may be more places to use them throughout the game, particularly in the clock tower level.

Unfortunately, this WIP is not very well executed. There are way too many minor flaws which add up to a not-too-inspiring experience. Here are the three major issues I have with this WIP in the first level alone: * Don't walk after the long falls on the first damage boosts * The damage boosts in level 1 should really be planned better * I did not have the lag counter on but I think I noticed lag which really didn't have to be there Unfortunately, things doesn't get better after the first level, and I'm sorry to say, but the Medusa-fight was not good at all.

I should probably mention that arukAdo and I are improving the old run (starting off from a WIP of Cardboard and Bablo). You can check the log here, new WIPs should be uploaded frequently. Direct downloads of files can be found here.

Oh Christ alrightey, what happened here? Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any use in the actual run, so I'm posting it here because it's too good not to share.
