I've had users in my recent NES Willow submission that alleged I had too many weapons, and I had to agree. My goal was to try to avoid as many weapon upgrades as possible and keep what I have to a bare minimum. Not to cut ya down, but you did get a ton of weapons while using Tools and Super Tools to minimize the number of weapons Aya had. What I do know is that when Aya arrives at the History Museum to arrest Dr. Klamp, an explosive weapon upgrade (maybe even a shotgun) that causes HP damage points to surrounding enemies is likely to be found there. What I would do is move around more when engaging in a battle and not take damage very often because (1) it does not speed up Aya's movement based on damage-boosting and (2) both HP and recovery items are limited. Weapon-wise, I would grab one gun and stick with it throughout majority of the game until I find an explosive weapon. And if there is not a lot of damage points that Aya inflicts, the hundreds of bullets that Aya collected should make up for it. As far as bonus points go, I would put all that into my weapons to ensure decent attack power.

what you mean is the burst ability. i already had that one so i didn't need it (it takes a minute to get). i got the shotgun burst ability already in the sewers and used it for the rest of the game. using a shotgun is not good though because they are slow at firing and the AT recharges slower.

as far as i know, i only took damage when it saved time or if i couldn't avoid it (sometimes it's best to take damage because avoiding damage takes longer than taking damage). for example, where i fight eve in the horse chariot, if i would not take damage, she would fly in the sky and i would lose time. i hardly used any HP and recovery items in this TAS.

the early weapons have low strength, so it's good to switch weapons when you get one that is much stronger (or has more slots, or is faster etc.).

that's what i did so... there are still no improvements except the ones i mentioned. but another improvement which i forgot to mention is that i overestimated the amount of ammo i needed (i had about 245 when i finished CB), so i could have skipped lots of ammo (for example taking out the ammo from weapons before i use them), but i thought it's better to be on the safe side... would not be fun to get to maya and not be able to finish her off because of lack of ammo.

theres nothing to do in life so i made another god damn TAS of this game the ingame time is 2:08:09 the emulator time is approximately 2:48:30 you cant save at disc change in parasite eve and i cant record disc change with PCSX so i made separate movies for CD1 CD2 and the ex mode the ingame time for the EX mode is about 1:53:30 and emulator time is 2:20 download here http://www.savefile.com/files/2133531 i made a few strategical mistakes for example using super tools like a motherfucking idiot sorry for the profamity and i could have escaped 2 fights on day 2 and i took the autoheal armor even though it turned out to be completely useless together these cost me at least a minute there could also be some escapeable battles in the museum but i havent checked so i dunno feel free to add criticism improvements questions and so on bai

Thanks for the comments. I know there are fights in the museum and day 2 that can be avoided. You can also escape the bird fight at 1:38 on your video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34XADbkBuX4 Did you get the .pxm to play after all? Then i don't need to upload it to youtube? Cool speedrun you have there. I was impressed that you got a super tool here 6:12: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWomlRPuOlQ Are you going to do EX Mode (chrysler building) too?

sure, you just have to use a program called kkapture. i already have an encode of it, but if i would upload the whole thing to my youtube channel, it would be like 30 parts, so maybe it would be better if you could upload it, so it would only be 1 or 3 parts (it wasn't possible to record disc switch with the emulator yet when i made it, so it's in 3 parts: CD1, CD2, EX Mode). if you upload it, mention my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/3iikka), so i get some credit for it.

yeah, could be. the disks that i use aren't called "iso", they are called: Parasite Eve (U) [CD1of2].bin Parasite Eve (U) [CD1of2].cue Parasite Eve (U) [CD2of2].bin Parasite Eve (U) [CD2of2].cue
EX Mode is not my goal
it would probably be 6 hours long anyway :P

Webnations uploaded the normal mode TAS on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fpqeyiMR5w I uploaded the EX Mode TAS here: Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mzXb4cx__I Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smLKclUH7c4 Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpfadXDAQ5E It's only 3 parts long because I speeded up the boring and irrelevant parts of the video. It can be hard to see what I do in the menus because I do them so fast, so if you want you can also download the avi files of this TAS here (it includes both the normal mode and EX Mode) to watch those parts slowly frame by frame: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N6ZTYZOK

thanks to upload, the Spring Festival make me very busy no time to be on the internet i have download the movie from youtube.megaupload?it seems that "the great firewall" would let me get through:) your game movie only crash in disk 1 day3, disk2 and ex game can run by emulator. how do you get so many critical hits ? it changes sometimes ,and stay the same another time. critical hits save much time than normal hits. the menu,it truely very fast that i can't see without frame to frame:),but the most important thing is to know what weapon you pick up and what weapon you use. it seems that you add BP to ATTACK ability ,and store lots of tools and bullet for the ex game. i hate random fight and climbing the building is boring and the bosses are weak,so i don't like ex game. would you go an optimized run ?

how many criticals you get depends on luck, so in a normal speedrun there's not much you can do to get more criticals (except staying as close as possible to the enemy). but in a TAS, you can manipulate luck to get more criticals.
it seems that you add BP to ATTACK ability ,and store lots of tools and bullet for the ex game.
yeah, i took a little too much ammunition though. i had 240 left when i beat ex mode. i didn't know how much i would need because i hadn't played it before. i might have saved up to a minute if i hadn't taken all that ammo. since i do ex mode, i don't use my BP on Active Time because i would lose all that in the ex mode. it might be more useful to add it to attack anyway.
i hate random fight and climbing the building is boring and the bosses are weak,so i don't like ex game.
well, the bosses are not weak if you go there at low levels and a bad gun.
would you go an optimized run ?
i don't know. maybe some day in the future if anyone else hasn't done it.

I hope it does get submitted someday soon, I'd really enjoy reading the submission text or any commentary/annotations on the run to get an idea of what's going on under the hood.

Is there anyone interested in PE II? I watched Fei Mai Moonlight's L-Rank speed run and Nightmare 100% run, and I'm dying to see a TAS of this.
