No :( I've been busy making an speed run (unassisted) on New Super Mario Bros 100%. At this rate the current 100% Wario Land run can be improved and doesn't have a reason to be submitted. I might finish it off and use it as reference for future Wario Land TASes (that's if I get time to finish it off).

I was planning to do a New Super Mario Bros speed run since June 2008 but unfortunately my main PC went down so I couldn't encode my runs from the camera's Firewire cable. I took it to repairs and had to wait for 3 months for the PC to be fixed. When it got fixed for some odd reason the Firewire cable wouldn't even work :(. So I thought of making an TAS run and Wario Land SML 3 seems like a good choice, it was easy to work out: *The fastest speed (Jet Dash) *The 100% run can be entertaining. *The Any% run be done in under 35 minutes :) A few days after the WIP posted on the Pirate Ship, the PC went down again and I lost motivation on carrying this on. I've found out in Feburary that the processor was burnt out and added a new one in. So in December 08 I got a HDD DVD Recorder and I had the most brilliant idea ever... connecting the camera's AV cables and record it off from the TV and that's how I got the world record on SM64DS. And for NSMB well.... ever since the DS is now TASable I thought that making an 100% run will be a good reference and guide when someone (other than me) makes a 100% TAS run. The Any% run on Wario Land is easier than making an 100% so who knows it could be done very quickly.

Last time I checked you were in Parsely Woods, you had most of the job done, there were so few levels left. I hope someone can finish this... I'd do that but I don't want this excellent run to be rejected :\

Go ahead we are not stopping you :). Sub 35 minutes of input is possible, try and post some samples and I can help you out on certain points. When you get used to TASing keep the rest of the project hidden/secret to the forums until submitting the run.

I've watched + livestreamed the run by calling it Let's analyse this Wario Land TAS. What raised the biggest question so far: * Course 1 is skippable by pressing Down + Right and if you enter it after completing Rice Beach, the tides rises but it should be faster still because you have the Jet Dash. It also saves time on the first course of Mt.Teapot *The Bull hat the runner picks up on the hidden course of Rice Beach to get loads of coins could have been avoided and instead abuse insane luck manipulation on course 4 (the one with loads of blocks). *I've noticed that at the end of each course you can press B on the first frame as the Skull Door is opening up. This also means you can beat the 8 frame window which gives you a chance to save at least 8 frames. I notice the runner does not do that so he lost ~ 240+ frames *When the runner picks up the Bull hat for the second time, it shows how it truly shine thanks to the ground pound glitch as it is used to skip climbing down ladders and double jumping. * The TASvideos community agreed that defeating the penguin is not required to get 100% + Perfect ending * My initial idea on the last 2 stages is to get the Bull Hat and pick up treasure O on Course 39, then go back to Course 31 to pick up the Jet hat, and the treasure of that course, so that Course 40 can be completed a bit faster but the bigger question is if my route theory is faster or not.

Totally RNG. But that was back in 2008 during my incomplete perfect ending TAS. One side of the bucket is faster than the other by a few frames (1-3). Personally I think it's more entertaining for the viewer to predict which bucket Wario is going to pull next.

Wario Land 1 navigation script As requested by vlack. The colors are a bit different here so be sure to read the description. There are probably some tiles I missed, but it's pretty usable right now. I haven't tested it in glitch space but it should work fine since this game is a lot simpler.

About of how work this screen scroll glitch I don't know exactly how work I just know with this glitch you can do some wrong warps for example in parsley woods 35 is a wrong warp to the exit door but actually you're always in the same room but the screen show another room. This is another example but upside down I mean with the vertical screen scroll glitch. Here the wrong warp is to the same room for grab the treasure without the key. Link to video

Since McHazard is back, I'll post about this. The GEG seems to crash the game in the latest bizhawk version (where Gambette is supposed to be very accurate). This happens with both GB mode and GBC in GBA. I was hoping someone, maybe McHazard or someone else, could look into if this is an emulation bug or if this is supposed to happen on hardware, and the original publication is making use of an emulator bug. here's the movie file that works on 2.4.1 (needs the GB bios) http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/63259061259553281

I had mentioned this in the GBHawk thread, but basically the way STOP is emulated in Gambatte got changed somewhere along the way. It now cannot be un-stopped without an interrupt. However, various test roms require being able to un-stop without an interrupt, just a button press, so this seems to be a regression. See: https://github.com/AntonioND/gbc-hw-tests ,dma_halt_stop_speedchange.gbc I believe the game end glitch can be executed as implemented, but to work on real hardware would need subframe inputs to un-press the buttons before the STOP hits.
