why is everyone taking this so lightly. Somebody better do something to get this fucking shit to re-record or whatever so the TAS can continue. It's been like half a year ffs
And someone needs to calm down and remember that patience is a virtue. It will be done when it is done. No sooner, no later. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
that attitude is the problem. If everyone thought like you do, then no one would ever bother to finish mupen pluss

Let me know if your preferred attitude method actually physically makes mupen plus be finished sooner. I don't think you can quite appreciate how much people hate getting yelled at to "hurry up and finish the damn thing!" until you've been in that same situation yourself.

Say you're working on a project. You're doing this in your spare time, just because it's a project you enjoy. You don't get any tangible rewards from it, but that's OK because it's the work that you appreciate. Now someone comes in and starts demanding -- demanding -- that the project that you work on as a hobby needs to be a higher priority for you. He's not offering any help, or any incentive to actually work on the project except that he'll stop yelling at you. He wants the project done so that an entirely different person can put in a lot of hard work using it to make something that the first person wants to see. In short, be happy that other people are willing to make things you appreciate at all, let alone on a specific timeframe. If you want something to be done faster, you can make the time to contribute to the cause. If you don't have the needed skills, then I guess you'll just have to be patient, huh?

I honestly don't see the problem in helping out with "moral support". Why make software if not for the users? All comments aren't whining or nagging >< Knowing that people apreciate what you are making is a big help.

Doesn't sound very appreciating to me.

again: this just shows your ignorance. That post definatly showed that I care about the work these guys are doing. Your posts however have been nothing but whining. Back to the issue: does anyone actually know anything about the progress of mupen pluss?

Shouldn't this be on the Mupen64 topic anyways? I want to get back to Ocarina of Time.

thx 4 info. Unfortunatly I know nothing of programming. But maybe someone else reading this topic are able to help. I hope your post convinces ppl that this is important. My posts surely don't seem to have that effect

Synx, as people have been trying to point out to you, simply saying "This is important! Someone should do something!" isn't going to accomplish anything. Those people who are already working on the problem will just be annoyed because it sounds like you're yelling at them to work harder (for no reward). Those people who aren't working on it either don't have the skills or don't care, and in either case are not going to be moved. In short, there's no point in complaining about the lack of progress being made. All it does is make you look whiny. Incidentally, if you don't know anything about programming, you should learn! Download Python and take a look at a tutorial online. Programming's a very useful skill that anyone who works extensively with computers should know.

In an attempt to spur some real discussion... Has anyone tried clipping into Ganon's fortress recently. I know it has seemed unfeasible in the past, but a lot of new tricks/OoB clipping techniques have been discovered since. It believe it was deemed possible to clip inside, but the distance was just too great (correct me if I'm wrong.) Nayru's Love Hover Boots megaflips (or something to that extent) at some ridiculous heights may provide more feasible results now than they would have a year or two ago. EDIT: Apparently I was unaware of the issue, as seen in the next post.

You mean Ganon's castle early? That was discovered a long time ago, there are multiple ways to do it. The only reason we get/rba medallions is because you need light arrows for ganondorf.

The best thing to try for is scarecrow skip.

I was playing OoT today again for like first time in like forever and wanted to try out the Forest Escape("walking while talking" version), however, i found that walking blindly to correct spot was pretty difficult. So i started experimenting around a bit and found some probably already known stuff but i haven't seen it in any video or posted so i thought i'd mention it anyway. Anyway, i was using Navi for this, and first thing i tried was walking away a bit then i accidently pressed A, causing normal game behaviour except everything still being dark. So attempt 2: Now i walked away a bit again, probably doesn't matter, but when i pressed C-Up again to talk to navi, while walking to navi, things changed a bit, camera was still in place but map returned to normal and light came back, a few seconds later however, the useful map dissapeared again along with most other stuff. During this mode, pressing A caused a "talking to Navi" scene again BUT, no text ever came up, And game didn't respond to any input, i.e Reset game is only way out. Okay so at last try, i could finally make use of this by redoing everything in attempt 2, but instead of pressing A, pausing, pressing R or Z, then unpausing, Now map is visible for a split second making it way easier to navigate to escape point. So well, super duper easy impossible to fail forest escape. I know this is incredibly irrelevant to this topic but i guess it could be useful to other noobs like me who can't escape any other way or are tired of blind navigating.

do you need hookshot to get explosives for the any% run? Or can you use explosives to boost up to fishingpond and skip both hookshot and scarecrow?

New idea for a faster 16 item low% route (in before massive debate).... Kokiri Sword + Shield Forest Escape To Gerudo Valley Cucco Jump Child Gate Skip Wasteland Enter Spirit Leave and get Requiem Savewarp (we'll have to wait for this obviously, or just deathwarp) Forest Escape again To Kakriko Village Cucco Bottle To Lake Hylia Golden Scale then steal rod Ruto's Bottle + Sticks on B (by current ruling doesn't count as an item, balancing out the requiem grabbed earlier) Play Requiem Spirit child, using b sticks for small key Up to chus Up to mirror shield Savewarp Forest Escape again To Hyrule Castle Lullaby and Letter DoT skip Adult as normal, but when ready to go to Spirit just play requiem Would save a few chus, and the time it takes to get to spirit temple as adult (which is obviously a fair ammount). I'm not sure how OI would work with sticks on B, yet if something goes wrong just get bottle on B, warp to spirit, and save in spirit to get sticks back on B. Also, you may want to RBA chus as a child, but I'll leave that up to more experienced people to decide. This also only matters if we never get the deku stick skip to work (and for people playing on console).
