This run is 10x better if you're waving around glow sticks while watching it. Edit: Cowboy hat and cigarette for upside down castle part

And large garden clippers for the opening.

The holy water glitches the hydrostorm, making it hit way faster than normal And hey... you vanished from the forums... I thought you were dead or something.

Well the alucard run drop like 6 mana prisms in a row, witch i believe need some manipulate (anyway critical hits need some, that for sure)

dont you need to try frame by frame to see which one drops mana prisms?

there's a proper timing yeah but attacking affects the random stuff too. The shield works as well.

Somehow that wasnt enough for me to get the point, its just about to wait the item "can" drop? theres no address hack to do or whatever?

To get an item to drop, the RNG must be in a specific state. The RNG's state advances every time you call it. In SotN, it sounds like the RNG gets called once each frame, but it also gets called when you attack or use your shield. So to get an item to drop, you'd try the following: kill the enemy ASAP Wait a frame, then kill the enemy Wait a frame while using your shield, then kill the enemy Wait a frame while using your weapon, then kill the enemy etc. And there's probably other ways to advance the RNG as well. For example, in the Megaman X series, generating dust (by dashing or sliding down walls) advances the RNG, if I recall correctly. Basically your goal is to a) figure out what state you need to get a drop, and then b) figure out how to get to that state as quickly as possible.

It's all about the random number generator. It seems that SotN is similar to AoS, and the RNG is activated only when needed. But fortunately SotN uses it A LOT, for graphic effects. In the rare cases where there's nothing random happening, waiting will be useless because the RNG won't change. A new number is generated also when we use an attack and when we pull the shield out.

I made my test run without bat relic Its based on the current tas for the first half of the run (http://tasvideos.org/2165S.html) Well, i didnt beated the current tas, but, im actually at the guardian with same frames count Off course its not realy optimized, and i made some errors, overall for a test run, im quite happy of the result Im still not sure what would be the real result, the main problem is i was not able to skip richter dialogue, meanwhile i did got a new idea, but not sure if it will work Anyway even if i skip this dialogue, the biggest trouble is dracula place (just after the video stop), there is 2 gigantic holes to fly in, and with my equipment it would take a while to climb them up Despite its not realy working, this road not so bad imo, and fun thing is i take same amount of relics (4) tough they are differents ones

Could you explain what you're doing to keep getting heals over and over again? I assume it's something to do with the Fairy, but I thought all of her abilities used up items in inventory.

I feel scared now. Without the bat relic? Are you planning on submitting this? I hope that not many of these sort of things comes to Symphony of the Night runs. Like without the wolf or the mist. That wouldn't end well I think.

I think it's a nice demonstration video, but I don't think it should be considered a different category. I think the only categories should be based upon the 2 endings when you reach Dracula for Alucard, and Richter's ending. Obviously, the two "bad" endings should be forbidden.
