There isn't one AFAIK. I would like to see it, as it would definitely be the fastest of the NES FF's. Interesting to see what the best team would be. FI/FI/FI/FI and FI/FI/FI/RM immediately spring to mind, but Thief's proficiency in cowardice may actually come in handy since you can't avoid random battles in this game. Hmm... -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

There WAS someone who posted one for FCEU in a different thread.. Sneil...? something or other like that... 3h42m or so long... and it was very cool to watch it being beaten so low level. Regretfully, I lost it in a hd crash... but... I did make notations of it.. ie. the steps taken to go through the game. There was some leveling up done earlier on in the run which was semi-boring... but interesting in how it was done... and the rest was balls to the wall run, and levelling up was a consequence of bosses being destroyed. If the run doesn't surface, if there are those interested, I could type up the notes in its stead. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

If you meant snaily, then you meant VirtuaNES, not FCEU.

Well Zoizite and GSGold were having a small compition with the game last night on IRC. I think Zoizite also expressed interest in doing the game, although don't quote me on it....

Why didn't you recover your harddrive after re-installing system or what ever you made? Or did the harddrive short circut? Anyways.. It's just software related you could try a program called R-studio. It can restore most data being lost/formatted etc. Sorry if being off topic. I just don't find it a good excuse anymore. ;) Well. Since people doesn't know about it I will accept that as an excuse.

Actually... the HD was dead.. or so WD's program declared it. I tried my best to salvage what I could, friend joined in, and nothing. Heck, once it died, neither of our pc's would detect its existence nor would WD's diagnostics. We even tried it on a bunch of his other pc's he keeps around as side projects for clients... nothing. Thankfully WD is very nice about shipping off a new hd and I shipped off my old one. I paid about $12 for the shipping charges? It was getting old mind you, but still ^^ Lifetime warranties rock when you keep reciepts :) My offer of posting the notation still stands. I'm not sure if anyone wants to run the entire video in VirtuaNes for 3h42m, especially when it means you can't swap windows without it freezing. I have no idea what in the world you're thinking, because we were just playing around and this topic didn't even exist last night. Besides, I think a Final Fantasy run would be too boring.

You should watch [scrolls down] "snaily"'s run. It's 3h+ long, but it IS interesting! Very well planned and executed very nicely. I'm sure someone could maybe get it to 3 hours with some better luck manipulation [if possible] and some tweaking here and there. And even if not, the game has massive appeal. This and Dragon Warrior were what led the RPG craze ^^ That and the music ^^ If you're not bad enough dude for Monopoly, I think you could be a bad enough dude for FF. :) Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I haven't even beat Final Fantasy in the first place. I'm not a bad enough dude for RPGs in general, I suck at them.

What are you asking of me? If you want me to make this timeattack, the answer is no.

Somebody made a FF1 superplay, but I think he used an old version of VirtuaNES which is unavailable now. I tried watching it, but it desynchronised after the first battle.

Actually, go to the post that corrected me and mentioned Snaily. Click on the hyperlink and download the Wizards and Warriors file on the site. Inside is the CORRECT Virtua Nes E version [0.68] to view the FF Movie. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I've actually been planning a run of this game for a while... And just the other day finally started. I'm using fi/fi/fi/bm, because the black mage has more charges of Fast sooner than the red mage would. And the sacrifice in attack power is made up for by hair-pullingly annoying luck manipulation. At this moment in time, I just got the crown, 15~ minutes in, only to be 'surprised' by scorpions and subsequently watch my bm die. So, I guess it's break time.

I haven't watched it but I have some doubt it's played perfectly since his Friday the 13th wasn't so good.

Who knows, it may have been a learning experience. I'm sure he's put a lot of effort into it, and we await the result. If you'd like input, feel free to post your progress.

In all fairness, I've never made a bad Friday the 13th video. Phil's probably referring to Snaily's run. My startegy's a little different from his. He fought a lot of battles which were not 'worth it'. Like 4 grwolves and a wolf. You'd be better off saving yourself for ogres. The fights I fought were only to get myself to 1,400 gp, so I could get the 2,600 gp from Astos and the Wizards to give me 4,000. Which I will use to purchase Fast. What the movie ends on is me getting sneak attacked by some ogres. Which I wouldn't mind, except one of my fighters died, and he needs to be a meat sheild for Astos, damnit. Now, there are 2 ways I can avoid this. One would be to redo the geist fight before the ogre fight a little differently and hope the ogre battle is either with different enemeis, or not an 'enemy strikes first' situation (which I did for the 3 scorpion (or whatever) fight right after getting the crown). The other is to change the order of the party so someone with more hps takes the hits (which I did for the 3 bones, 1 crawl fight). Either way, I'll do it later. My only really big dilemma is whether to do the castle of ordeals or not. It's not a particulary long level, and it'd let me equip... well, a lot of good stuff, after getting my characters promoted. Also, the zombie dragons square is a great place to level up quickly, which would save me a lot of headaches. It would also let me get Warp, which would get me out of the Waterfall and floor 5 of the Sea Shrine, and give me the zeus gauntlet and heal staff, giving the black mage something to do besides being a Fast whore until the Sea shrine. But I don't know if it'd be faster or not... sailing there and back (or flying) + the 3 floors of ordeals + the walk to bahamut is comparable to the 1 floor walking back through the waterfall and the 2 floors walking back through the sea shrine. And, there are other places that are good for some quick levels, (The agama squares in Gurgu Volcano come to mind). And, theoretically, the lack of Excalibur, Opal gear, etc, can be offset by luck manipulation. Besides, as far as I know, Bane (thanks to the bane sword) works on any enemy. Including Chaos. Albeit, rarely. Anyway, here's the movie. It's made on famtasia. Sorry, Phil. There are a few small things that stick out... to me, anyway. Like buying the staff for the black mage. Waste of 5 bucks and a few frames. But I'm only considering this a test movie.[/url]

Yep, bane works on all enemies, including all bosses. i Edit: I just looked it over, and it seems to be played very well. Too bad there's so much running from enemies (not that it is your fault). I wonder at what level it will be beaten at.

Yeah, you'd best be Baning Chaos at the end.
