Okay then.

You, my friend, reset your game, didn't you? Huh? Maybe on accident, maybe on purpose, but you pressed it. Or maybe you didn't, huh? Maybe you just went and turned the power off without saving. Sound familiar? What? Sorry, what was that? I didn't catch that last bit. Did you just say I'm right? You did what I said you did? Ah-HAH!!! All right, you listen and listen good, 'cause I get real angry when I gotta repeat stuff I gotta say. Resetting... It's like pressing an emergency call button. You press it and I gotta come read you the riot act. See? Also, you gotta SAVE before you turn the power off. If you don't save, it's the same as resetting. Well, OK... That last part? I just added that. Why? Because I wanted to. Forget about other games for a minute, will ya? I'm here to suggest that you try and play THIS game, Animal Crossing, without hitting RESET. Got it? I know what you're thinking: "Whether I hit RESET or not should be up to me. After all, it's MY Nintendo GameCube!" Well, sorry. Rules are rules, OK? Know what I'm sayin'? Let's not make a big deal out of this.

You know you've played too much with your old cellphone pinball game, when you find a useless collision bug in it, learn to abuse it in a controlled manner and keep doing it whenever possible hoping that some unusual benefit might occur someday. The game in question is called "Bumper" and the bug involves nudging the table at correct times to make the ball slip outside the screen. By the way, my high-scores for the two default tables ("Käärmeet" [Snakes] and "Golfkenttä" [Golf Course]) are: Käärmeet: 205600 Golfkenttä: 249400

You know you've read too much manga when you start reading comic strips right to left. (Actually happened quite a few times)

You know you are a bad poster when you cut-and-paste pages and pages of text from another website without instead just linking there.

You know you're insane when you think Megaman Zero 2 on Hard Mode is fun. (I love the game, it's hard mode? It's HARD? Masochistic Mode is more like it.)

Also, you know you're an extra bad poster when the cut-and-paste mess from another website would fit so much better in the "Poking fun at your home country" thread YOU CREATED

Also you know you're a even even worse poster when you in fact did post that cut-and-paste mess in your thread as a link but later decided to post it in a thread where it does not fit but as a cut-and-past mess instead of the link and in doing so made several people poke fun at you.

Ridgway, why exactly do you need to constantly remind us of your Scottish heritage? It is not impressive, interesting or useful information. It is not a subject for shameless topics or excessively long and pointless posts. It is embarrassing.

Sorry, but your suggestion does not match the pattern. The pattern is: You know you <action> too much when <funny symptoms>.

You know: The value V of a Chevy Cavalier Coupe that is t years old can be modeled by V(t)=14,512(0.82)^t When will the car be worth $4000?

4000 = 14512 * (0.82^t) 4000 / 14512 = 0.2756 0.2756 = 0.82^t log0.82(0.2756) = t log0.82(0.2756) = log(0.2756)/log(0.82) = 6.494 t = 6.5 There probably are more elegant solutions, but I suck at math.

You know you apply too much of the TASing tricks specific to games when: -you jump when running downhill (sonic) -start hopping when at max running speed (Super Mario World) -Hold the gun really close to the screen at arcades to get in more shots (Megaman) -brush past people to get damage boosted -Try to wobble back and forth every other frame -When starting to run, you face backwards a few times (Yoshi's Island) -You triple Tap the gas pedal to go faster, and triple tap brake to slow down faster (Mario Kart 64) -When going north or west, you try to wobble to go faster (ALttP) -When you jump onto a ledge, you start to curl to spindash (spnic 2, 3) -When falling from a huge height, you have an urge to do a flip and land on your butt to avoid damage (Super Mario 64) -You pump your arms up and down when running (Super Metroid)

I myself relly soley on armpumping for speed. Sure it makes me look like an idiot and sure it makes people want to beat me up but that matters not since they will never catch me with my 1 px/frame advantage.

I tend to do that in Half-Life as well. Maximizing the chances of receiving falling damage... > -You triple Tap the gas pedal to go faster, and triple tap brake to slow down faster (Mario Kart 64) Gotta try that ;) > -Hold the gun really close to the screen at arcades to get in more shots (Megaman) To minimize the travel time of the... light, er? > -When falling from a huge height, you have an urge to do a flip and land on your butt to avoid damage (Super Mario 64) Or slash with whatever you are wielding (Ocarina of time), or grab a ladder at the last moment (Half-Life)... Or hit "pause" just before the death (Super Mario Bros. and 3.; I have this habit.) > -You pump your arms up and down when running (Super Metroid) That would sure look funny.

you know, the centrifugal force will actually push you forward if you wave your arms the right way ;)

There's instances in the half-life engine where you can survive any fall by landing on a certain slope. Works in video games, works for ski jumpers, HAS to work anywhere.
