Emulator used: FCEU Hacked game Use warps (Unavoidable) Full amazing version
>>Abuses programming errors in the game<<<
Show hundreds of bugs Genre Platform
I don't know if Bisqwit will accept it, but, it's really fun to watch.
--Hack's description--
  1. 1: Able to jump anywhere, but, I don't abuse it when not necessary.
  2. 2: Bowser has more hit points.
  3. 3: Start with 0 live remaining.
  4. 4: times modified.
  5. 5: levels modified.
>: Kind of game near unbeatable in real time without reloading.
--Bugs description-- Able to cancel death in the pit if you jump. (Able to jump only in the hacked version)
After the character pass the flag or take the hammer:
  1. 1: you get stock if the character fall in the pit.
  2. 2: the character must be blocked by an object to finish the level or you get stock. (The character stop after a while if it's related to the hammer)
About pipes:
  1. 1: You can get hurt while entering in a pipe (if you die: you restart in the level destination of this pipe.)
About walls:
  1. 1: Able to rebound on the wall depending of the pixel alignement of the character.
  2. 2: Able to pass through wall depending of the pixel alignement of the character and some other actions.
  3. 3 Able to pass through wall if an hidden coin or a coin exists on the left of the object.
  4. 4 Able to pass through wall if you scroll it near the left border of the screen then jumping under it and on the border of the screen.
  5. 5 Able to pass through wall if you are on any elevator.
About reboundable objects like bricks and ? squares:
  1. 1: able to pass through that if it hit an enemy.
  2. 2: ? square will give nothing if a coin exists on the top of it.
Press and hold left + right and the character will move back.
Shell or turtle with his wings lost stand in the air if you jump on the turtle on the bottom of the screen.
Bowser bug if you not kill him and if he is not at the end of the level.
And more ... :)
Every bugs exists in the original version of the game, but I don't know if the character is killable while entering in a pipe.
Funny thing: In the original version, in any level lower than unit 4: there is a brick hidden after the door of the castle to block the character, abling the level to finish. You will see it in this movie.

Um... can someone please tell me how the heck I'm supposed to START playing? I have the "Super Mario Bros. (JU) (PRG0) [h1].nes" rom and I downloaded and applied the patch successfully. The game loads up to the title screen, but that's as far I as I get. None of the controls respond, so I can't play. Can someone clue me in?

Try a ROM without [h1] in it?

yo uare given a password and userid. these are used to download PARALLEL AIR rom hack, which is part 2, and MUCH MUCH harder then part1. you must play air parallel to see the true ending!
Just a little elaboration: the userID and password is case sensitive, and you have to lower the security level in IE to prevent the necessary pop-up windows being blocked. Just an FYI for people who ran into the same trouble I did. ¬_¬ PS. Thanks for the info, ventuz. EDIT: For anyone who has completed the second quest in Air, can you please tell me what to do in 1-2 where there are two pirahna plant pipes next to a fire wand? I can't enter the pipes because they're sealed off with bricks.

I just found this on YouTube that's faster than the published TAS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzbYRCEgIsc Interestingly enough, it doesn't require getting coins for a 1up as the death trick isn't required. It also skips a few areas. Edit: I've been reading through the old posts. I don't have the hack so I wasn't able to test, but I noticed Bisqwit added a movie in this thread that fits this movie's description and has a similar time frame. Did this person steal Bisqwit's movie and claim it as his own work?

It says in the submission text (http://tasvideos.org/866S.html) that the run wasn't necessarily the fastest, but instead was created to demonstrate the TAS in a good way.

In hindsight I feel like a bit of an ass for jumping to the conclusion that this person stole bisqwit's movie. Although, the video is clearly tool-assisted and doesn't mention it, I really shouldn't be throwing out accusations like that.

Especially since it's nothing like Bisqwit's movie.

You can also reach the username/password area by taking the "Gate of Air" back to 1-1 where the death is in Genisto's movie as Super or Fire Mario, then doing the aforementioned brute-forcing your way through the Goombas. Also, in Loop 1 as Small Mario, you can just wait for the Spiny to zoom by, then drop in behind it and take the pipe back to the beginning. This also resets the coin boxes; I picked up a full 49 coins doing this, before deciding the timer was running too low. As to the video: Very nicely done. I'm a tad bit confused at some points, mostly where Genisto walks through blocks as if they weren't there without (apparently) doing anything special. As to the hack: Also nicely done. Really showcases what can be done with the SMB1 engine.

Yeah. I didn't have the Air hack so I wasn't able to check. Let's uh, pretend I didn't say anything?
