Umm..I did a Statue TAS with completely perfect lines, Not optimal Val strafing but not too shabby either, rest pefect except a few frames lost on the FR pick-up. That run was a 2:18. So don't get your hopes up on 2:14 dude, 2:17 would be maxed even for a TAS. Depot should be able to easily beat 0:50. You could try and shoot the RL though i'm not sure how often that can complete? That should save at least 2 seconds though. Train is a toughie to max out. But a reasonable goal would be mid 1:40's. I did 54 TAS of Archives twice WITHOUT frame advance. 53 might be possible. B2, The new strat will put you far ahead of Miikas TAS. So don't go by that one too much. For S2 i have no idea how you thought that through. First off, Why do you need a key? I've tested diffrent strats myself(on console though) and Wr strat is probably the fastest one. Stick with that and you'll get sub 1:20 easily(However, i did try a TAS on that level and shooting first camera is nearly impossible from far away even with frame advance. So you have to go pretty close). And lastly, going around the hut on Surface is faster? You got any idea about the time diffrence?

There's one GE full game single segment speedrun, where Wouter skips through menus as fast as he can because he's trying to get the overall fastest time of beating the game. there is no PD single segment of the entire game yet (I want that to change...)
There's actually tons of GE full game single segment speedruns. Most of them, including Wouter's, go for mission time primarily and real time as a secondary objective or completely disregard real time. There's also tons of PD single segment speedruns for the entire game. If this run is going for real time as power up to last input it's doing a... not so good job of that. Even if there was no good input plug-in and you had to slow down to shoot the alarm it would have cost no more than a second. Quiting out cost you 21 seconds of real time. So there's 20 seconds of real time wasted right there. Or, even if you had to do the first 32 seconds with 1.2 you should have paused and changed it then unpaused and continued, wasting only 4 seconds instead of 21. Also instead of setting to 1.2 you should have set it to 2.3 like Henrick uses so well for his TASes. This will save around 20 seconds. It will be way faster to skip the intros to silo and get the key cards or wait longer on the guards to open the doors. It seems rather silly to spend 6 months perfecting each frame of a mission when you could save 40 seconds by doing the right things and then spend 1-2 hours a mission doing it 2 seconds slower and you'd end up with the same final time. It's such a crime to spend 6 months trying to save every frame possible then go and waste 2,400 frames on two easily avoidable poor decisions. Now that I see this run is going for real time but has already wasted 20 seconds, I’m not that interested anymore and I find it hard to support the goal of real time anymore.

If you're going for fastest mission time on Statue,Archives and Streets then it would be of benefit to use the pause speach bug which helps speed up conversations ingame wise, its simply done by double tapping the pause button.

no, it doesn't really speed the conversations up, just the messages will be inconsequent when you do that. 1 message will be up longer and another shorter, but it doesn't save time, I'm quite sure. we've tried several things to speech skip in GE without success before.

With 2.3 and 2.4 you shoot with the second controller, expect 2.3 is like 1.2 more so it's better. Shooting with the second controller you can fire bullets during any cinema and with 2.3 you can aim up and down while doing this. This helps most noteably on surface 2, bunker 1, and depot. Surface 2 you can shoot the camera way far back behind the trees. Bunker 1 you can fire early and guards will open all the doors to get to your starting position. Depot you can shoot out the screen early and guards will open the slow door to leave the room.

it relle was not my intention at all to force you to lose interest in this run. I just feel that there was too much bickering about real time vs. mission time, and this site more prefers real time. it should not be a deterrent for you to not like it, because I'm hoping that whether someone or not will like this run will be based on the action itself, not discrepancies about time.

Now that I see this run is going for real time but has already wasted 20 seconds, I’m not that interested anymore and I find it hard to support the goal of real time anymore.
In game time takes priority, but I try to be as fast as possible with real time too. I already explained both why the pause out at Dam was neccessary for in game time, and why switching to 2.3 on the current movie file is not possible.

Loved it for a few reasons: you deserve, after the painful months and months of facility, to improve the times on the missions you've already done your progress is getting faster, which I bet must feel good (for both you and us) and lastly, it was very optimal, and I actually got to see more of the level this time around. Bond shouldn't be shy about staring his opponents in the eyes as he shoots them in the head. The look down made it seem as if he was mostly concerned if his shoe was untied or not.

So now your saying Mission time is the top priority, and this is why you wasted 21 seconds of real time to save a fraction of a second of in game time. Well if mission time is the top priority then that's fine. Then you should also wait out cinemas, as this is much better ratio of MT saved to RT lost than 1 to 21. Or maybe you want to fail at achieving RT and MT and go for some random mix where you waste 21s RT to save 1s MT, then don’t waste 10s RT to save 10s MT. This makes no sense to me. This would mean anyone could half ass a TAS and either beat your MT or beat your RT, or by doing things such as not quitting out, beat both, still half assed. Fortunately it’s still not too late to make MT top priority and make a run with top-notch MT that won’t get beat. When did you explain why you can’t switch to 2.3 now? You’ve got the plugin, Henrick uses it just fine. All you have to do is switch to 2.3 the next time you pause. You’ll only miss the benefits of 2.3 on bunker 1. Or you could quit out just like you did on dam to get bunker 1 MT saved as well, which I don’t see how it’s any different than what you did on dam. You’re quitting out to save a second of MT both cases.

Very nice job on Runway there! Some notes about Surface: If you've watched my Agent TAS then you know that the locks barely takes any time at all on a TAS, meaning it's probably a time saver to skip the GL. This also gives a new possibility, You can shoot through the window of the hut with the first key guard so that he sees this and runs out. I'm not sure how far you can get him but killing him outside the hut is definately worth trying. You could also try and manipulate a grenade after opening the safe to take out the locks even faster(if a guard is nearby). And lastly, boost yourself with the GL in case you can't manipulate enough guard boosts.

I think skipping the GL would be good for a TAS. You should be able to kill the key guard outside, making getting the GL cost at least 3 seconds I would think. I don't see why you couldn't get a grenade, but even if you can't, the locks shouldn't take more than 2 seconds to shoot, also, you can get 1 or 2 shots off on one of the locks from above where you would normally shoot the GL. Guards opening doors I think is possible on surface 1 and other levels. The AI works like this: If a guard sees or hears you then can’t do either he will move to where your position was about 4 seconds from when he last lost contact so long as he doesn’t receive anymore contact. So here’s what you need to do. You'd need to get at least two guards that can see you. You must be within about 3 seconds of the door. You must then obstruct the both guard’s vision from you at almost the same time. Next move right next to the door and be there about 4 seconds from when they lost vision of you, still they can't see you, and you shouldn’t have to stay at the door long at all if timed right. Next hide away from the door so they can't see you when they move towards to the door. If other guards see you during this it might not work. If done right you should be able to get them to move right next to the door. They should be able to open it. I’m confident you in particular could get this to work. I don’t know however if you’ll be able to set it up and execute it fast enough to same time. I don’t think getting two guards close enough to the safe room is possible without spending too much time. Does anyone think otherwise?, as this would be the easiest place to do it and I could explain why later. If not you’d have to do it on the door to the safe key room. You could use either of the two huts in this area to obstruct vision. You could limb shot or manipulate a slow attack to allow yourself enough time, as you’ll need about 4-5 seconds in which they can’t see you. Note: if they are right next to the edge of the hut I think the only thing that would allow you enough time would be a grenade attack, otherwise I think you’ll be about 1 second short. You’d want to hide around the corner of the hut closest to the door. The biggest problem would be getting two guards into suitable places. The best place to get them would be on the opposite side of the hut from the door. You’d have to get them both to this spot without wasting more than about 17 seconds. Or you could get one or both of the guards behind the other hut. You’d have to do this without wasting more than about 12 seconds. If you can’t do this, then I think it’s safe to abandon this strategy as a time saver. There is a very small chance you could get this to work with just one guard, but I wouldn’t spend much time trying this as we have no proof that’s either possible or impossible but many hours have been spent trying to get it to work by numerous people including myself.
