If you still can't figure out how to do it, watch Finalfighter's demonstrations REALLY CLOSE.
He has even written a tutorial about it: http://www.globetown.net/~rockmovie/rocktech.htm
Oh! I'm really thankful! Thanks :D
Yes there are.

Do any of thos MM2 glitches(programming exploits) work on Mega Man Anniversary Collection for the Playstation 2?? Just curious because a lot of them weren't working for me when i tried. I like emu's and roms, but i'm a die-hard console gamer.
Never heard of the game, but based on the observation that the Genesis Rockman Megaworld game was a reprogramming instead of a direct port (or an incorporation of Rockman 3 code, which was somewhat cleaner), I'd guess they don't.
The best way to find out is to try :)

Wow, you've never heard of it?? It's a great game for megaman fans. it's has megaman 1-8 and x-x2 all in one. I'll fool around with it when i get the chance.
Whatever. Anyway, the question here is whether the Playstation versions changed the game engines in any remarkable ways. I don't even have a Playstation, so I don't know.

I was wondering if the authors of Megaman runs feel the time is proper to make some improvements? (Im mainly refering to Megaman 2 & 3 & 4 and 6). I dont think Megaman1 cant be improved (maybe by a few seconds).
Fixing rockman is currently bisqwit's only time attack project that I know of.
Rockman 2 is being worked on by morimoto in addition to FinalFighter, but morimoto is on vacation right now.
Many different people say they'd like to work on fixing Mega Man 3 but I don't think anyone actually is devoted to it currently.
Kopernical is very much satisfied with his Mega Man 4 and 5, and rightfully so I think.
Kyrsimis has been working on fixing Mega Man 6 for awhile, I'm not sure how that's going haven't heard much in awhile.
Rockman 1 is being improved by me. I estimate at least 5 seconds of improvement. It is being discussed here.
Rockman 2 is being improved - the progress has been going the whole this year. The player, Morimoto, is now travelling and will return next week.
This progress is being discussed here and here.
Grumble grumble...I guess no one will ever learn to spell my nick properly :)
But anyway, yes I have been working on MM6, although not very actively. I did the first 8 bosses already but I was not satisfied and I am going to start over when I have the time. School has started again and I have these huge exams coming up but I'll try to find the energy to redo the run. But I will do it eventually, unless someone beats me to it, because I'm nowhere near satisfied with the current version.
EDIT: I'm not going to change anything major though, so don't excpect too much of it, I only want to perfect all jumps and optimize the slides a bit. I also plan on using different weapons more in the first 8 stages, but I'm still doing the bosses in the same order.
I think Lezard is doing one, actually, but it is for VirtuaNes. I believe I read something about it on Speedruns.org.
The problem with that one, though, is that Sleepz did such a great job with it that I don't think it can be improved timewise. Just stylistically. And IMO it seems kind of cheap to just do everything he did only slightly better.
I'm very happy with 5. There are a few small (and one potentially big) improvements that I can think of but I don't plan on doing that one again any time soon.
But since finishing 5 I've been wanting to redo 4 again but I just haven't got around to starting it, yet. Maybe this topic will push me to it :-)
But aside from the new Megaman 2 I don't think there is going to be any major improvements in any of them from now on. Just optimizations.
This post goes way back to the originals and off topic from the route via PS that this topic has taken.
Do the authors of the new movie for MM2/RM2 know when its to be expected? Personally, I'm quite excited to see how it is exploited!

My guess is that it will be ready by the end of this year, but it all depends on various things, where the personal schedule of the authors is not the least affecting factor.
There is a trick I found in X2 that should be used more often in platform game runs. Because of vertical acceleration when you fall, when you are going to fall down, jump early so that by the time you're going down, you're already falling at a fast rate. That wasn't very articulate.
But this wasn't done in the last run, and is very necessary in future ones. In mega man games past the 2nd, it's not necessary because time saved by sliding is greater than time saved by optimizing vertical acceleration.
