May I say that Super Challenge World is uninteresting because IT LACKS ANY ASM OR NEW GRAPHICS.

I'm not sure if this is your intention, but if you are trying to argue that Second Reality is better in an attempt to get someone to TAS it, it's probably futile.

You just said you can't TAS one bit. How can you say if something is worth TASing? I'm telling you, this game is definitely NOT ideal from a TASing perspective. The levels just don't allow high speeds or entertaining tricks.
I don't think high speeds are necessary for entertaining tricks when it comes to SMW. Quite the contrary actually, often you'll hear people complaining that it's just flying over level after level when the exits are too straightforward. This doesn't mean I think this game is great (I previously stated that I didn't), but I'm just sayin'.
I agree. The TASes of both Super Mario World and Super Demo World are too boring because they mostly just fly through them. TSRP2 has levels that do not allow for one that do not allow one to start/keep running speed and start/keep flying. So it will actually be more entertaining than those 2 runs.

Have you watched these runs? There is flying, but there is much hopping to keep things more entertaining than standard flight.

I do not follow this at all. Because Mario has to go slower due to level design, the run will be more entertaining? I think not.

That's why you can hop from enemy to enemy because the levels are FULL of them.

Flying through levels above enemies is boring. flying through levels while bouncing on enemies or in enclosed spaces is. confined boundaries/level designs that restrict flying but can still be went through fast without slowing down Mario are entertaining, such as castles. from what I've seen of TSRP and from MANY opinions of EXPERTS on SMW TASing, TSRP has too many enclosed spaces/level desings that slow down Mario's speed, no matter what you're doing. Topic started, discussed, and overall opinion stated, i.e. unsuitable for TASing. hopefully, case closed.

I'd just like to chime in and say I like being referred to as an EXPERT. Carry on.

Well I say this run should than be aimed towrds entertainment and not speed. I enjoyed watching the WIP of the 1st world very much. Because just like you said, the levels can still be played fast even though they restrict flying.

which, as stated, isn't going to work, because the level design SLOWS DOWN quick ways in getting through levels, thus destroying the entertainment. just let it drop.

Or, give it a shot yourself. None of us knew how to TAS at some point. There's plenty of material on the site to guide you and answer common questions.

Start fiddling around with the emulator using frame advance, slowdown and save states and try to record something small first. You'll get the hang of it. Use http://tasvideos.org/UsingEmulatorTools.html if you have any questions.

Chef Stef, Is this what you intended? Or at least close? Cause now it doesn't work obviously and I wasn't able to get it without throwing the spring down there. (SCW)

Something not of your interest, since it's not second reality project.

(I just want to point out that my friend did all the level design, and I just gave him some ideas. I wasn't the joint creator of this hack - I was more of a resource for testing and providing input). That's a nice trick with the springboard, but there's actually a trick for being super Mario at that point. I don't want to spoil the solution, but I will say that it isn't necessary to take the springboard or P-switch there. If you're having too much trouble with the puzzle, though, I can just tell you the solution.

It's me who's having trouble. I've been stuck at that level for a long time now, and have been trying hours on end. I asked Fabian for help but he couldn't do it either. The closest I've gotten is by being small Mario and going to the very end of the level. Then I make the feather fall down and get small Mario up to running speed and take the feather. The instant Mario gets the feather I duck and let Mario slide under the plants. I've been trying this for hours but the closest I can get is like a half block away. It'd be nice if you could just tell me what to do, I've really run out of ideas.

Does scrolling the screen (using L or R) help with the positioning of the feather when you run-slide as small mario?
