Only thing I can think of for the girl in pink is wossname driving the White Cat from the F-Zero series, which is almost certainly wrong.

I assume the vector ship is from some 1970's game; I guess maybe it's a 3D re-envisioning of the Asteroids ship to go with the actual asteroids in the background.
Pretty sure I know all the others, unless the blue sphere planet is a reference to something.

The catman I believe is from Wing Commander.
And what elf? The chick he's standing behind? She's from Channel 5.
Ah, never played Wing Commander (nor Mass Effect). But I did recognize Ulala. The elf is the floating head with purple hair and giant pointy ears, just to the right of an Arwing and just to the left of Mopman.

Just seeing all the distinct objects/characters takes some work. This appears to be a decent job.
It's from Gradius 3 because the ships above them are also taken straight from the cover of Gradius 3. There are also tiny "asteroids" hidden at the bottom.

While it's correct, it's intending to portray the original poster, which had Luke holding a blaster in his left hand.
Perhaps I misinterpreted all three responses to my previous post but the maoi featured on the poster in the original post looks strikingly familiar. Irritatingly was a poor choice of a word, but it has irritated me enough to want to find out the origin of it. Looks like an album cover.
