Hello! I've decided to try my hand at making a small TAS, but unlike ZSNES, Snes9x v1.43 doesn't seem to have a hotkey that enables you to pause the game. In ZSNES, I assigned a hotkey to pause the game and assigned another to advance a frame. However, in Snes9x, when I get into frame advance mode, it doesn't seem possible to get out of it and go back into normal speed, making me watch cutscenes, etc. frame by frame, which isn't very enjoyable. Can anyone help me with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Press Pause/Break. Also, you can click on Hotkey Config and map it to whatever button you want.

Oh, thanks a lot; I must've overlooked it. Also, frame advance is acting up. I'm holding down the button I want to press and then I advance through the frames, but it doesn't seem to be pressing anything.

Don't release the button, you need to have it pressed when you use the frame advance.

How many keys are you trying to hold down? Keyboards have a limit on how many keys they'll accept at the same time. Try moving some of your buttons to the meta keys (shift, alt, control, etc.) since those tend to be less limited.

I got it yesterday, thanks everyone! I was pressing the button on the same frame the action took place, which was the problem.

I'm having a problem of my own with the frame advance feature in the recent builds of SNES9X. In Snes9X v1.43+ v15.3 (lua 0.05) for Windows, I can map frame advance to the left trigger on my 360 controller, and either press it to advance a frame, or hold it down for pseudo slow-motion. I can't get that second effect in the newer builds, and if I hold down Frame Advance when mapped to a keyboard key in said newer builds, it acts wierd and freezes up my entire computer for a few minutes. Flygon is trying to make me move an experimental project from this older 1.43 to the latest 1.51, but unless this problem is solved I'm sticking with the more useful version.
