Nice to see all these SMG2 TASes lately. They're looking very nice. Keep up the nice work - I'm looking forward to seeing more :)
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

I subbed 32 seconds (TAS of course) on the star Sorbetti's Chilly Reception. This saves nearly a minute over the non-TAS WR because of a glitch using the rock power-up that is TAS-only. The strategy was found by nemi43. Video coming later today. Here's the best non-TAS for a preview of what you will see broken: Link to video Edit: Make that sub 29.... :)

Dang! That's awesome :) P.S. Why is it not possible to go directly to the boss planet?

He uses the sling star to lose the rock powerup. Otherwise he can't damage the boss (or has to lose the rock powerup by taking damage, which costs more time)

@SMG2 runners: Are there any other known potential places the rock jump trick could be useful in a TAS? Green Stars maybe? I would love to see it in action elsewhere.

Two other uses in the Any% route, off the top of my head: - In Melty Monster S, The Chimp's Bowling Challenge, maybe you can go from platform to platform with the rock multi-jumps instead of the ramps. I haven't tried this, but if it works (the pins still spawn and everything), then you won't need to re-transform between each set of pins. - In Boulder Bowl 1, Rock and Rollodillo, you can do rock multi-jumps to go directly from the comet medal to the planet with the chomps. (I've actually done this when experimenting with the rock jumps with frame advance.) Also, this isn't exactly about rock multi-jumps, but I had a couple of boss strat ideas that are good for TAS: see this video.

I never played this game before, but what exactly is the difference in gameplay between luigi and mario? Is it just cosmetic?

"Luigi is slightly faster and jumps a bit higher than Mario, but he has less traction. Luigi's Spin also takes slightly longer to re-charge, and he has less air capacity than his brother. Luigi also loses air for every time he uses the Spin underwater."

Well, even though I couldn't pull off my above idea, I still subbed 2:20 on that star. Non-TAS WR is 2:38. Here's the video in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COhj49V4u2w
