I've never tried TASing a puzzle game before.
There's really not much to say. It's a 24 second movie. Better strategy I guess.
The order of the columns is predetermined, and unmanipulatable.
This is the exact same category as Axelito's run (9 rows, Novice) and improves it by 216 frames.
Input can be ended earlier, and this will mean that the final block falls slower, however, the input in this movie will lead to the fastest ending by speeding up the descent of the final block.
EDIT: I have a confession to make. The initial intent of this movie was to see to it that no genesis columns run would ever make it to the site. Now that Axelito's run has been rejected, I can safely cancel this run.
I'm an asshole I know.

As much as I prefer the Master System version (Better music... seriously, at least, on my Master System, emulators never seem to get the sound right), I liked the run. Yes vote, and encoding. Suggested screenshot DailyMotion Archive.org

I think it's unusual that the standard for when to end input and the standard for when to end encoding results in encodes ending in the 30-second "enter your name" screen, taking up more than half of the video. On another note, I thought it was funny when I learned that Flygon is actually a ground type, not flying.

The opening combo made this quite a bit more entertaining than previous attempts at this game. Good job!
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. 1. I waited until it looped over to the title screen. 2. Flygon are still as sexy as ever despite that fact... perhaps even sexier. :3

I agree that the opening combo was entertaining. Unfortunately, none of the rest of the run was. I don't think that playing this mode with a goal for maximal speed is going to make for entertaining movies, in fact. There's room for a Columns TAS on this site, but IMO it needs to do more work with making huge combinations and less work with just trying to clear a small amount of junk away. Here's an idea: make a TAS of this mode where you clear the flashing jewel in the first clear you make. Obviously this wouldn't be possible with the maximum number of rows, but you'd get as many rows as possible in there. I think that'd be seriously impressive and entertaining, and clearly more difficult than just drilling through to the bottom. Voting meh; well-executed run that didn't meet the entertainment bar for me.
