current movie, ends with me ignoring the boss fight and dying I'm starting to see a few places I might be able to improve, such as optionally moving to the left when warping down (to get closer to the sword screen edge), and a few other things (such as pushing B at the exact frame on the map to only have the cursor show up for one frame instead of two), but going and redoing the whole movie seems needlessly complicated... especially the boss fight, as it's hard to manipulate him to be close enough to hit twice, and it's about 90% of the time one of them ends up throwing a jack (which you can't hit and just take damage from)... Much like the first movie, I miss two shots due to the boss changing back. This cannot be helped. There were no extra hints, although I did find this... http://www.hostultra.com/~z4g/tricks/fivemin.html It appears to be another method, without backtracking back up and down after warping down the first time. -- Of course, I can't continue the current boss fight (even if it was under the original frame count), simply because I don't have enough health, so that'll be redone. How far back I have to go, though, isn't known yet (all the way back to the first warp down? eep)

A 100% run will be very entertaining to watch =D. But it will very hard planning the route... Will take years:S. But still an idea... Have someone thought about this before..?

I've been thinking of it after this, it's just between the sheer agony of the boss fights (especially the end one), I may wait until I get someone to do those segments for me. Although, I've been torn between doing the DX version or doing the B&W version; the B&W allows skipping of useless text with B (and would let me execute two instances of the warp glitch before Lv 4 for hopefully obvious reasons), but the DX version has another dungeon and (optionally) more powerful clothes for monsters which need the sword (i.e. most of them). On an unrelated note, how long until TSA shows up and GANNON-BAN(NED)s me for using "gannon"?

It turns out ganon-baning is just a joke. You can't actually ban someone from cosplaying as Gannonn.

You can get GANNON-BANNED for other things. Like spelling Ganon with two ns. (at least, when you aren't referring to Zelda 1's "Gannon"...)

Oops, I didn't know this was being worked on again. Sorry! :( I just saw a lot of errors and I wanted to fix them... I'll back down man, you can do the full run.

A comment about the TAS you made... When you charge the sword; Is it reallt faster to swing your sword again when you're making a new charge? Because you don't need to. And I can't see that it's faster.

You release hold of the button required to charge, thus you lose the charge in exchange for the spin attack. You need to swing the sword in order to get a new charge, or you cant hurt the boss.

No, you don't need to swing it again... If you press the button after releasing the spin you will start a new spin directly after you made the first one. I've played this game ALOT so I know what I'm talking about. I'm also planning a 100% Speedrun on it... Hope you understand what I mean. Am bad on explaining things on eng...

I understand what you are talking about: starting to charge a new spin while one is being performed. However, that only works if the spin attack missed, if you hit you have to swing to charge again no matter what. I know because I thought the same thing, but and went and checked it first. Try it yourself.

Oh. It was different when you hit something? How stupid, haha. Have never tried it on an enemy. Just know it works without hitting a target=P. My bad...

As I've been [not at home/lazy/busy with school] I haven't had time to really work on this; however, I set aside time today to look at TSA's RT-TA*... I figure if he ever sees this, maybe he could comment on some things: - You do 8 before 7; is this just to get the Fire Rod to make 7 easier? - You seem to get the honeycomb and pineapple, though they serve no purpose in your run; do they trigger something, or was it just a 'oops' type effect? - Do you have any insights on how the RNG runs in this game? If I can remember correctly, you said you expected (or half-expected) to get each piece of power/acorn powerup. Other than that, I'll try poking through the game's RAM so I can find locations as enemy health and such for easier monitoring, and possibly start planning a route that won't deviate much from TSA's, unless I find something better. *(real-time time attack)

1. Yeah, the fire rod owns the boss. 2. You need to trade up through the honeycomb to get Marin to appear at the beach. 3. Piece of Power/Guardian Acorn drops are mostly based on the # of enemies killed. 12 for acorns and somewhere around 40 for PoPs. You're looking at the newest run for the b&w gb version, right? And not tsa's old run?

I was actually watching TSA's run, heh; I did some research and sure neough, it is 32 points (1pt for getting hit, 1pt for giving a hit or a kill, not sure) for a PoP. Figures. Also, I guess the trading sequence is the reason I considered my game to be screwing up; I never figured they'd require that.... oh well. I'll go watch the B&W run now, provided I don't run out of space again.

Some stuff not in the latest vid: For the 50 rupee chest in the mysterious wood, you can walk up to the edge just above you and spinattack, to break the breakable block one block down/right of the chest. Then you walk left-up-right, swing the sword, and push the moveable block out of the way to get the chest more easily. Something else you may think about doing is going to that cave to get the chest, going through the cave, out past the mushroom, damage boosting past the pit, and grabbing the tail key from the wrong side. I've never done it on a cartridge personally, but I'm almost positive it's possible. You still need the magic powder later on tho. :/ Also, a possible route change. On the first/second times you go to animal village (before level 4 - first time, to talk to the cook bear guy, and the to bring marin along), going up and getting the face key may be faster. I doubt it, but it's something to look into, and I haven't timed it personally. Boss trick on the nightmare moldorm in the egg: If you hit him as he's coalescing, and keep pressing the button fast enough, you can defeat him without him ever moving. You can see me start to do it in the vid, but I somehow lose it partway through. :/ Finally, this page: http://www.thehylia.com/la_tt.shtml

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/814/ There's a video here now if anyone wants to see it. It's not pretty, but it shows it's possible at least. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/815/ Here's something else that's probably not new either, I might want to do a movie of this game, it's pretty cool after all. :)

Ironically, accidentally accomplishing that was what got me thinking about the tail key boost. I'm pretty sure that you can complete tail cave w/o the rocs feather if you damage boost too. Sadly, you can't get to the moblin's cave without it...

I don't see why you would want to skip Roc's feather, there's alot of jumping in this game, though damage boosts may save time if you don't have the feather equipped.

Well, that's up to you, I think I'll make a full demo of this game, it might even end up half looking cool, the only problem is that it'll probably look like Maur's, only a little bit faster. I'll look into it, and see what I can do about it. And also, you (Maur) wrote Piece of power drops are mostly based on the number of kills, do you mean there's another way to manipulate their drops?

I do 99% of the things in my life for the same reason. ;D But really, I think you got to get hit by a projectile to be able to get over a hole, and I don't think there's a way to do that in all of the places in Tail cave. (The nightmare key for example, neither to get there, or getting back.)

What that means is that nintendo's players guides have been known to be inaccurate, and that's what my source is. I don't think that you need to be hit by a projectile while in the pit. While I was hit by an octorok rock to boost me over, it was from behind me and I was standing on the edge anyways. Of course, that was the only time it happened, but still.
