There is something to look out for when you're TAS'ing towards the end of the game. After X gets the X-Buster upgrade from Neon Tiger's stage and Zero's cape from the second stage of Doppler's lab, X will have to launch not one but two supercharged fire-shots before executing Zero's cape. The reason I say this is because I noticed it when I was testing through Doppler's lab.
Is someone working on a 100% run? I'm just wondering, because I tried that game a bit today and beat Fractal by 1 frame up to the first ladder. And, since the last MMX3 was made in 2006, maybe it's time to do the 100% run aswell?

There's been some discussion on it here (and a small WIP by GlitchMan) about six to four months ago, but then things just kinda stopped.

Is this fast enough for speed-running? I'm too lazy to go check FractalFusion's speedrun to compare speeds. Just... Someone said my wallclimbing was slow. So... It's only one wallclimb, and it doesn't go through the ladder. I was also too lazy to do that.
I could probably climb the wall faster, if I put more time into it. :p
Here 'tis.

Didn't watch it, but...
If you are lazy in the sense that you won't check your work to make sure it's right and won't do the best you possibly can, TASing is not for you, so please give up and spare us all.
So nobody watched it?
Okay... then...
I'm after more than just beating FractalFusion's run, I want to come as close to perfection as I can.
I didn't make this thread to be told whether TASing was right for me, I simply wanted an opinion on whether the wall-jumping was fast enough for a run.
Guess I won't ask you guys anymore.
You weren't that helpful.
*Edit*
Please watch it before you judge it. Or me.
**Edit**
And RELAX guys, this isn't the actual speed run, it's a test run of me kick-jumping up a wall. So yeah, I'm too lazy to check FF's version (Even though I did after I posted this), that doesn't mean I won't do my best for the ACTUAL speed run when the optimizing, and testing is over with and done. So don't be telling me to quit.
Is laziness a crime? Jeez.
No, that's perfectly fine. After all, you're asking, not telling or demanding.
Telling someone else to do something because you're lazy may or may not be nice, depending on some external variables.
And jumping on people because they say they're lazy is not very nice. You haven't even looked at the work or seen any work of the actual speedrun. So in effect, you are prematurely judging someone.
And you're not being very nice to someone whose work you have yet to see. You should be encouraging great work instead of trying to shoo someone away. Like mentioned, you don't know if any good work will come out of this yet, so you are prematurely judging. Bad.

It's barely possible to tell how much faster/slower you are than another run, by looking at a input file that's only a bit over two seconds long. It's better to compare whole stages/parts of stages, like GlitchMan's run up to Mac's first scene.

Ok, I'll do that.
The boss fight doesn't need to be included, right? Since I already killed all the bosses on the savestate that I use for optimizing, and testing.

No, that's not necessary - just post something that's comparable to FractalFusion's run (i.e. same goals and/or routes) and of adequate length.

After i saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka1m52UIf3s
I wanted to TAS this game under a new category, but later i thuoght myself that it would be realy boring to see X X-Busting every boss. Does anyone feels like me?
NOTE: This is PSX and SS exclusive
Rolanmen, I have honestly thought about TASing the PSX version with this bug included. The only reason I didn't is because I have problems loading the ISO in Pcsx.
If you are able to though, I'd like to see it of course, after all, if I planned on trying it myself, why wouldn't I want to see it?
