Post subject: A mod for emulators (VBA, FCE Ultra, etc) that records mic?

The topic title cut off, I wanted to say mic input. As it stands, I've no way of recording both microphone input AND audio from the games. Which makes game reviews hard (actually not hard... just impossible) to do. I don't know of any programs that record video, audio -and- mic, either. (don't think there is one, free or not)

Most soundcards can only record from one source at a time. You have to either record yourself playing the game first and then overlay your voice afterwards, or record a movie in the emulator of you playing the game while you record your voice, then play back the emulator movie to get the sound from the game to overlay on top of it.

What about stereo-mix, doesnt it record botch channels?

It does, but it's rather pointless as you'd either want to listen to the game's music/sfx or listen to the commentary with the game's volume turned down. As adelikat suggested, mixing those two channels with something like audacity would yield the best end results.
