This is a glitchfest run, meant to show off how you can abuse the word recognition program.
I used Snes9x v1.43+ v9.
  • Is a demonstration
  • Exploits glitches
  • Manipulates Luck
WARNING: THIS TAS CONTAINS COARSE LANGUAGE
The first bit of luck manipulation was to force the game to pick the shortest family name for my opponent. "Hall" is the shortest name, which means less time was used during the name-typing process. The fact that they appear as the most dumbfounded and shocked family when you beat them is an unintentional and hilarious side-effect.
Each round, luck was manipulated to ensure there were as many answers as possible, to abuse word recognition as often as possible. Round 1 has twelve answers, round 2 and 3 each have six.
While answers were carefully chosen to be as ridiculous and elaborate as possible and still count as correct, all other factors were chosen with speed in mind. The bullseye round is skipped and all answers are typed as fast as possible.

adelikat: Hilarious. Gladly accepting for publication.

Samsara: The publication file has been replaced with a resynced version on BizHawk 2.8, courtesy of DrD2k9. This was done primarily to replace one piece of outdated language used in the original run, but also has the added benefit of more accurate sound emulation.

I am literally crying from laughing so hard. 10 for entertainment. Abstain from technical. Hilarious. Must publish.

Now that's a quality tas. Not what I was expecting.

hahahaha, very nice! I absolutely loved that first version you did. This here is even better--so much funny! I loved the LOOKS that the Hall family was giving you as the music was doing it's dumb little 'doo, doo, doo, doo, doo,' seeming to make fun of them for being so dumb. This is such a wonderful brand of TAS entertainment right here, wow

Lol, that was hilarious. Not quite what I expected (which is good). :)

That was f***ing HILARIOUS. I was laughing so hard I was crying! Edit: Test encode. I don't know if it's classified as good enough for here, but I thought I'd try.

I just realized I forgot to warn about coarse language. Maybe not a big deal, but a warning might be helpful.

Definitely a laugh riot. The only possible complaint I can come up with is that I could barely read the questions before the answer was typed out (I watched the encoded version). Maybe next time you could pause for a sec before answering the first time? Other than that it was great, we need more TAS movies like this.

Yeah, I was considering that. For the first three rounds, it's not so much a problem and the first answer is intentionally meant to interrupt before the question is asked in order to blurt something nonsensical like "Oops I pressed it" For the last round, there really isn't any time to read the questions. Should I redo that part? I wouldn't have to luck manipulate anymore so it would be easy to fix.

I think a Lua script that pauses the emulator every time a question is shown would be better, at least I'm used to that with RPG movies. Also, it's better for non-native English speakers, because they can decide how much time they need for each text. I laughed a lot watching the movie too, even if I missed the meaning of some answers. 9/8.5 for me.
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

Good answer! You truly are an evil genius. I'm going to have to show this to my friends.

Agreed. If I could make one, I would. So I'll leave that to somebody else.

I just about lost it when you started dropping ghetto language and comparing Family Feud to The Price Is Right. Bonus round was beautiful too. 9.5 For entertainment, not sure about technical quality. This movie is pretty out there but I think it needs to be on the site.

Thanks, it looked good. I have to agree that this movie was hilarious! Overall not one of the best TASes, but in terms of entertainment this was one of the best I've seen. I found myself laughing through most of the movie. I can't believe the game accepted all those answers... The speed round went a little too fast for my taste, so yeah, either a Lua script or an encode that pauses at each question at the speed round would be nice. 9.2/abstained.

Liked it. Definitely a weird movie... Speaking of weird, there's something weird with the sound in that MP4. Most noticeable in the ending. The musical instruments randomly disappear from the theme, as though there was a shortage of channels, which there most definitely should not be (8 channels after all). The SPC file of the title theme is without problem...

I believe that's a flaw with the Snes9x engine, not the encoding. I'm told it sounds better in ZSNES.

I've been waiting for this. Not disappointed, either. Despite knowing what to expect, lots of the answers were unexpected.

I think the Hall family was upset with your choice of words in the first round. There was a lot of variety in the humor, and that definitely kept it interesting. The end of round 3 was hilarious. Does the game add wrong at the end or does it just not count past 200? 9/Abstained

It doesn't count past 200.

Actually I think a fun concept is that the game's judges were racially motivated. The white family says nothing but nonsense but they always win anyway. The black family doesn't even get a single word in. Just look at their stunned disbelief.

Given that you only need 200 points to win the final round, it probably intentionally cuts off the count at 200, even if you exceed it.
