If Mega Man 3 is your favorite, go with ProtoMan Or ShadowMan. He was probably the most badass of the MM bosses.

I was thinking of going with this route. Top-Shadow-Magnet-Snake-Gemini-Needle-Hard-Spark

That makes sense, as SnakeMan also takes 2 dmg from Shadow Blade, and then you'll also get to use Magnet Missile in SnakeMan's and NeedleMan's stages if it helps. But now you're still saying it's better to have Shadow Blade for MagnetMan's stage than to put MagnetMan first and have Magnet Missile and Hard Knuckle for TopMan's and ShadowMan's stages? Remember you won't have Rush Jet for MagnetMan's stage on your proposed new route either... And I chuckle at how SparkMan is always going to be last in these speedruns, because his weapon is pointless on stage enemies, and MagnetMan has two primary weaknesses for some reason. Anyway, I like how your run looks so far, so keep it up!

Oh, yes I will! Don't you know about the glitch where you highlight Shadow Blade on the weapon switch screen then you press right and if you already have a weapon refill nearby (I might have to collect three or four small ones) I will instantly have Rush Jet. Plus, it automatically refills it for the next stage since the game thinks you have it by default.

That is so true what you said about Spark Man's weapon (especially with the fact that you can't pause while your weapon is still on screen in this game which can be frustrating)! Also, Magnet Missile in Top Man and Shadow Man's stages isn't exactly faster because you have to switch to that weapon which costs 30 frames each (an additional 10 frames for the faint warp animation unless you can find a way to bypass it like at the start of a boss). Anyway, thanks! I will definitely keep this speedrun up (and hopefully get it under 30 minutes)! :) Sorry if I'm sounding a little repetitive about this "under 30 minutes" thing but the published run is just so close and I feel like I can get it! :D

Oh yeah, the thought crossed my mind once, but I didn't know how practical it would be. But then you do have the "jump to conserve fuel" trick, so you wouldn't need to refill Rush all that much. It'll look so bogus to use Rush Jet to reach NeedleMan! Ah, and I also remembered that HardMan has two primary weaknesses too in the second fight, as Magnet Missile and Hard Knuckle both do 4 dmg to him. So while you'd want to use Magnet Missile as it starts off faster, you might switch to Hard Knuckle partway through the battle because you're going to switch to it for TopMan anyway, you might need it to conserve Magnet Missile energy, and... I don't know, maybe you can fire it just as HardMan freezes you so you can get an extra hit in then? I don't know, as I haven't watched the old TAS or played the game in a while, but I thought I'd share the idea before I forgot it.

That's a good idea! I'll have to try that when I get to Wily Stage 4! It's a long way off but I'm looking forward to trying it!

Whoa, guys! I picked up on something while I was TASing Snake Man's stage! If you are on your Rush Jet and you go to the bottom of the screen, you die AND the Jet appears at the top of the screen! I guess there is more to that bottom-to-top of screen glitch afterall! Also, even though this is old news, if you are at the top of the screen and there is an enemy at the bottom of the screen and you are on the same x-axis as the enemy, you take damage from that enemy if you jump over top of the screen (I discovered this in Mega Man 4 in Cossack Stage 1).

MOAR! This time I go kill the bosses in Mega Man 3, except with a twist; only using Shadow Blade. How far can Mega Man go with just a single weapon and limited ammo? Although for entertainment value, the Full-Game TASers may want to take a peek at Gemini Man; maybe Snake can be implemented in the same fashion, although I think it's already known. Regardless, enjoy!

Whoa! Awesome! I never knew that the Shadow Blade could be so powerful especially against Gemini Man.

Lol, I got bored and did the same thing with Needle Cannon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpEEID0gO5s Maybe it's interesting to see Gemini Man taking 4 or 5 hits near-simultaneously because hitting one Gemini cancels the invincibility on the other. It also has some 'zipping' glitches when Magnet Man does his magnet attraction attack, although that won't be useful in a real TAS.

That was sweet, great vid. =) How do you do the Manget Man zipping? Is it just simply sliding while he uses that move?

From what I know Mega Man zips away from Magnet Man when he ends a slide. By alternating right+down+A and left I start and end a slide every 2 frames so Mega Man moves at 8 pixels a frame on average (minus the attraction).

You don't suppose the same type of thing could be done in Magnet Man's stage near the giant magnets do you?

I tested it and it actually does work, but the problem is that all but one let you zip the wrong way, and the one that doesn't is the last one which only covers a pit with disappearing blocks so it could only save a few frames at most.
