This movie shows the change of controling single player and double players.
The main advance is the boss level that use two players to finish the battle.
The dance which ignore the hostages is an important choice, because it can make the running faster.

Oh! I also corrected the ROM name.
You indicated Guerrilla War (U)
I updated it to Guerrilla War (U) [!].nes

Why does Player 2 randomly come into play sometimes, then dies randomly? Why not use two players right from the start?
Either way apart from the seemingly odd behaviour of Player 2 it was a pretty good run.
The game deals with lag well too which is a little surprising.

Great improvement! The choise of using player 2 on bosses but keeping him away on the levels was cleaver. I'm wondering though, why didn't you use player 2 on the first bosses in the run? Also, I think you died a little too much overall for my taste , especially on the sewer boss.
I think I'll hold my vote until I'm told why you didn't use P2 on the first bosses, as I think this could save a few seconds. Beside this little thing, the run was very solid! :)
undeRCoveR: The reason for this is because using two players causes a lot of lag on the levels, so you only want to use P2 on bosses.
Why not use two players right from the start? It's a good question.I didn't use the second player because of tank's faster moving and lag.So I have to use Player 1 to finish the 1-3 stages.
The reason why I used two players in the 9th stage is the T-gun.This gun makes sure that I can kill the last boss in the first wave.
But the lives is a problem. In the 1st stage P2 only can be killed 2-3 times. And in the 2nd stage the tank comes out at the beginning. So I didn't use P2 to finish the 2nd stage's running to make sure that the lag does not cost me so many time.
Ha,dying is also one of the best feelings of spirits!
As I expected, lag reduction is the key.
Oh YES vote!
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days
<adelikat> no doubt
<adelikat> klmz, they still do
I would've rather seen a full 2-player version that doesn't care about lag, but that's just me.
(I always thought lag management was stupid. It usually means less interesting events.)
I will watch this later regardless, if only because I find the game interesting.
Edit
Got around to watching it. Dislike.
The 2-player use seems almost tacked on. In some places, P2 would be doing something other than P1, taking a different route, whatever. In most, he was dead, or just following behind P1 exactly.
This is where I think the 2P run would be better as something like the Nightmare on Elm Street 4P TAS, where both players are always active and doing something different from each other, even if it means being slower.
...but, we all know Xkeeper and his wacky ideas for what would be the best!
The route is a difficult problem. If 2P run in the different route. It may be more slow because turning will let the moving more slowly.
I agree with your advice. But in order to run fast, running in a shortest route is an important choice. If I move more, there might be much more lag than the same route.
As is known to you,the lag in this game is very hard to control. So I can only choose the way in short of the route.
"Nightmare on Elm Street 4P",I have already seen. It's very great. But to make the exciting thing, the speed is much more slowly than the movie that use 1P.So I choose the way I have experienced again and again to improve the speed as fast as I can.
Thank you for your advice!

Guerrilla War is a run that has pretty good potential for a play-around movie. If someone makes a run that aims for entertainment first, I would gladly watch it. :)
But for this "aims for fastest time" run, just like X2poet said, running off with P2 to do other stuff usually causes more lag, as well as the fact that the characters stop for 1 frame when changing direction.
To put things short, while I completely understand Xkeepers point, doing such a run would probably waste too much time for a fastest possible run. I guess this is yet another example of whether or not it's worth it to waste time in order to get the run more interesting.
If I had aimed for entertainment,I would not have changed the number of players. If Xkeeper wants to see the movie that is more interesting. I think I can make a movie that considered lag and entertainment both. But that would be 40 seconds slowly than this movie at least.

I like this improvement, the use of the 2nd player was clever.
I also this game flickers & lags terribly. Adding more lag & sprite flicker from always having 2 players sounds like an awful idea. The game hurts my eyes as is.
Anyway, yes vote.
