I'll preface this post by saying that I haven't seen Genisto's run, and I don't know much of anything about the controversy surrounding it. It's a solid improvement to a run. The use of peach makes the gameplay noticeably different form a normal run. yes

The level of tomfoolery is a bit lower than the last movie. But onto the technical aspects...
  • In 6-1, it seemed that had you not thrown that last weighted mushrom after Birdo's death, you might have been able to open the mask a bit sooner.
  • In 6-2, could you have used the leftmost platform to climb to the top rather than high-jumping?
  • In 6-3, did you consider a midair jump to go OVER the big wall rather than under it? You need to move the shyguy to a better position.
  • Going into the triclyde fight, could you have ducked (somewhat similar to what luigi does in the anything-goes run) and floated so you wouldn't need to high-jump?
I could be totally wrong, but these are just things to consider.

To questions 1-2, I think the mask opens a set time after I grab the crystal ball, shouldn't matter what actions I take after that. As for question 4, I tried ducking with peach and it seems like she is too slow to make it. I'll take a look at question 3 right now. And no, I have no knowledge of hexing rerecords, I did indeed press the F1-F10 buttons 100000 times.

The mask will open after a set time AND based on your proximity to it. If you're too far away and you miss the timer, there's a delay before it will open. Try it sometime.

Not throwing the weighted mushroom saves 70 frames. Using the leftmost platform instead of high-jumping in 6-2 is actually 7 frames slower. And in 6-3 I don't believe it's possible to scale the wall using a shy guy - he has to be on the tallest cacti which might be impossible to place him. I'll try to come up with an improved version as soon as possible.

How about putting your effort in improving the normal run, because, if I recall correctly, it would obsolete the current normal run and the Peach run since that one is unnecessary.

Would it really be all that bad to have a princess-only run? People are constantly complaining about lack of entertainment in the runs. Personally I find the princess-only run entertaining. I might be alone with that opinion, though. (And no slippery slopes, please. We don't have to start accepting "character x -only runs" just because we have one "princess-only" run. It's perfectly possible to have this single category without having to accept other similar ones. It's not like it would hurt anyone.)

All you need to do to beat this argument is to point at the Knuckles run in Sonic 3. The mechanics are a bit different (100% versus this run), as well as having a mostly-different route, but the basics are the same. I, for one, have no real problem with a princess-only run. (Also, perhaps you should put a note in the submission about why it was cancelled.)

When Diman's run was submitted, the necessity of this run was highly questioned. And if I recall correctly, Bisqwit agreed that a new any% run, which YOU promised to do, would obsolete the Peach only run too.

I think intentionally tampering with the rerecord count should be frowned upon. That number is interesting information and faking it is despicable.

I can't disagree that it's interesting information. But is it important information?

What makes you so sure it was tampered with? If Laughing Gas says it took him 100000 rerecords, then I believe him.

IMHO if the movie gets to a top-10 list in MovieStatistics because of a faked rerecord count, it's not ok.

Two movies with the exact same round number of rerecords? Quite unlikely.
