I myself say a hack is best if it has FULL graphics changes-NOT JUST SPRITES!

Don't ask which game is fundamentally the "better" hack. Determine instead which will be the most fun to watch. That being said, in the Tasvideos tradition, graphics tend to play a rather small role in whether something gets labeled here as an excellent game to run.

What a ridiculous thread. Can we get off the bloody graphics for a moment and instead worry about the gameplay? Or better yet, let's not spam the thread for one game with propaganda for another. This particular hack sounds interesting, and I like puzzles. I'll have to try it out later.

Oops, sorry, I was thinking of the wrong level. To get to DV1, you'll need to get the secret exit to Whomp's Castle. Every castle and fortress in the game has two exits, so keep this in mind when trying to find all exits. Sorry about the exit counter on the title screen - SCW was my first hack, and I had no idea of how to do ASM hacks/minor alterations.

Stop shouting. When you do that, you're annoying and can't even speak clearly (Kyrsimys, not Krymsis). If you have a point to make, make it but calmly. iIf you don't, then shut up. I don't think new graphics is a criterion for a hack to be TASworthy. A hack has to be: ― notable (stands above every other hack for that game) ― for a good game ― stable and final (updates aren't to be expected) ― entertaining to watch being played ― significantly different from the actual game And please don't start arguing whether any previously accepted hack fulfills these goals; they have been accepted, period. I wouldn't mind seeing someone do this game, but I'm guessing it won't be happening any time soon. It would be pretty daunting, for sure. How many exits would a short run of this game be btw? Rough guess if there's no clear route figured out.

There are exactly 114 exits in the game. I miscounted and originally said there were 120, and I believe Chef Stef accidentally said there were 109, but 114 is indeed the correct number. To simply beat Bowser though, I believe there are an absolute minimum of 43 exits required. On another note, I am currently working on another hack, and this one will use new graphics (some ripped from Yoshi's Island, and some original) as well as custom blocks and a few other ASM hacks. I'll probably give a demo of this on SMW central in a week or so. Anyone who wants some more information on this in the meantime can feel free to PM me. The reason I mention this is that some people may think that this hack has more TAS potential than SCW.

It won't be happening because this is not a good hack but TSRP2 is.

I already warned against using this thread to defend some other hack. You don't listen. I'm hereby taking away your ability to post for an undetermined length of time, but at least a week. Attempt to circumvent it by creating parallel accounts will lead into permanent banning. Spamming users with private messages they wish not to receive has also the same effect.

This is an interesting hack. I still haven't progressed very far, though. I would not want to watch any run of this game until I played it myself. I think figuring out the puzzles would be the entire amount of fun, and seeing them solved for me would kill my desire to try the game for myself. Super Demo World had this element (though not to the same degree), but also more "action" sequences I guess, and so even though I had seen the walkthrough, I still wanted to play it. (I also forgot a lot of the walkthrough shortly after it)

I've only played a couple levels, but it's got some pretty drawn-out puzzles in just the first areas. I can see how it lives up to its name. I would enjoy seeing a TAS of this. :)

I think this offers something new for a TAS, there have been quite a few stunts in Chef Stef's TAS that looked much different from what I've seen in the normal SMW TAS. Too bad you can't change the bosses much in a hack, the SMW bosses are really too easy and old to fit into newer hacks...

So mrz, any chances of seeing a TAS of this soon? To tell the truth, i dont even know what to patch it on, i tried smw and i think it did not work. Maybe because i'm using SNES9x? Im not very smart you know, just lucky ;] Does someone know What the problem could be?

I'm TASing this currently. I just watched Chef Stef's run and most likely I will do a all exit run. This hack is awesome.

mrz, Do you know the levels? Worldmap route? Cape/fireflower planning? etc. Seems like a pretty tough game to dive right into. If you do, I'll try to help of course.
