• Expert difficulty
  • No damage taken except from the supercombo which takes a little from your health
  • Uses warps
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Being entertaining as possible
  • Play around during waiting time (before the arrow and the text "go" appears)
  • Luck manipulation (I know which direction the enemies will appear and I also can manipulate what I want to get from the barrels)
  • Use tools (lol) -sledgehammers which I get from the barrels THAT'S a real tool-assisted run (I know it's a bad joke but I couldn't resist it :P)
This run took over a month (It was really taxing) to make with a scary amount of re-records (44621), but you'll probably understand why when you take a look at this TAS. I choosed GUY cuz he is my favorite character and he is probably the most selective to use, cuz you can get a really FAST TAS but also VERY COOL TAS thanks to his powerful and awesome moves. This run is faster than mazzeneko's run but it's still not perfect according to me. But I think the good times in this movie outweigh the flaws! I use the special moves and super moves to get entertaining, cuz if I use the dash attack all of the time it might get terrible boring.
TAS tools:
  • Snes9X v1.43+ v9
  • Frame advance (a lot of this)
  • Frame counter
Here is mazzeneko's run for those who wants to see it: #410: mazzeneko's SNES Final Fight 3 in 21:48.38
I wish you all will enjoy this!
Thanks to all of you guys at the topic! Special thanks to: AngerFist, AnotherGamer, Serj and atro city!

On its own right, it's worth publishing since a one-player TAS of this game won't get a whole lot more varied than this. I'll look forward to a two-player run in the future, though.

Looks decent overall, although you could've varied basic and dashing combos around some, thrown in some d+attack jump attacks, possibly used supers on enemies with high health (the fatty before the screen with the alternative route on stage 2 seemed to be a particulary good spot, as you had a super ready and could've used it on him instead of doing the dash combo on him several times, same thing towards the end of the bridge section on stage 4) and backhopped more as that seems to be much faster overall than just plain dashing when done in rapid succession. Oh great, it's OoT all over again, except this time there won't be any "wtf I can't see where the hell you're supposed to be going this sucks" complaints. The use of thrown hammers was good though, although I don't understand why did you wait around that long at the end of stage 3 before you kill the enemy. It also seems to get better towards the end, what with faking out the enemies by backhopping through them and then comboing them from behind, so points for that.

Thanks for the feedback and the nice comments!! I will make a second run of this game sometime when I get more time. I should have used the special move (think it's called "fire palm" or something) more often cause you can reach enemies which is "behind" the screen better then the dash attack does! But it's easy to think smart when it's to late isn't it? :P Stay tuned dudes! I will make a second version! But I did submit this run cause I thought it was publishable even though it could have been done better.

Yes yes, I'm a big proponent of any sidescroller beat-em-up TAS.
What's a man like me supposed to do with all this extra savoir-faire?

Final Fight is a nice beat-em-up game...this game could show the counting of the hits...especially when you throw a hammer...a lot of hits... Nice work in this TAS...I liked...vote yes...

different than what your used to Diman? :P guess I'll take a look *EDIT : ok, it was a good movie, I thought it got a bit too repetitive and ended fastforwarding the last stage but given the lenght of the movie, it held my attention pretty well only complaint is that, even if it would be a bit slower, I wish you would use the super more often anyways, voting yes

Hehe! I was thinking about the votes!:P It looks good to me! I completely agree that I could vary my moves a bit more. And maybe be more precise when I hit some enemies (little later in the movie it gets more and more sloppy I think) at the exact frame. Thanks for the yes vote BTW Mlandry!

It looks ok enough to publish, imho. I just wonder if some of the parts could be done better. For example you have only to fight one opponent and you only can land a few punches because it's offscreen? You could just have used a Super in that point. Other thing that bothered me was you used the last enemy in stage 3 to smash the bus stop and it made you to wait for the last enemy to come to you. Why just not fight the enemies near the bus stop and smash it midst the battle? Could be faster. Other thing that perhaps could be done better was changing the moves you use, even if it would be a half minute slower. Looks better to show off a few moves more.

I pretty much agree with the criticisms so far. 18 minutes of the same combo feels to me a lot longer than 20 minutes of more varied 2-player action. A very nice game to run, but needs a tad more style for me to vote yes. ...And hopefully no wobbling next time. ;) I'd vote meh, but he gets the job done. No vote.

Indeed! I could definitely have been faster. When an enemy goes offscreen I could have used his special attack, and on though enemies which has a lot of HP I could have used his super attack! I regret deeply that I didn't do anything of those things but, hey!- you learn from your mistakes, right? ;) Next run will be better! I promise! I haven't posted any WIP's yet cause I'm temporary working on a Toki TAS also: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4315. But when I'm done I will start workin' on final fight 3 (still one player (with Guy). Thanks for the tips! ;)

My bad. I meant "I didn't vote" not "I voted no."

Good show, although I wish you'd beaten Black with a super. Voted yes.

This run was mostly "fight entirely off the screen" or "drag the screen around". It wasn't that bad but it didn't hold my interest for very long. "Meh". Some parts of it were interesting (using the sledgehammers, throwing enemies into enemies) but most of it was just the same thing over and over again with little variety.

"No damage" is specified. It seems like it should be "Takes damage to save time": "No damage taken except from the supercombo which takes a little from your health" At least, I would feel that taking damage, even if it's from using a super attack, is still taking damage... But then again, opinions differ.

I wouldn't call it "taking damage" as much as "health penalty."

Voting meh While its a good and fun game. It mostly consists of running against the end of the screen and endlessly repeating the punch combo. So I couldn't even see the enemies on screen for a large chunk of the game. Although my favourite bit is when all the green guys in the lift section got owned. So in conclusion as to whats stated in the submission * aims for fastest time, yes * tries to be as entertaining as possible,no, because otherwise it would mean sacrificing time which would mean the fastest time would not be obtained.
