I finished the TAS I was working on, I'll probably start this up again. Since I'm making for this site, I'm just going to play fastest 00 Agent mode. Unlocking the ending, while aiming for fastest in game time. Because I'm lazy, I think it's more likely I'll just finish my one controller TAS than start a new one with two controllers. While it would save a second or two on a small handful of levels, I don't feel like doing the first level over again for the millionth time. Thusly, I played that WIP a bit today and got the Doak placement for facility. I'll play through the level over the next little while whenever I have time (I'm working two jobs as of monday). So,,, keep an eye on this topic, there'll be stuff.

It's great to hear that your working on this again, since you were making such incredible progress before. Personally I think doing the 1 controller run is cooler than using the 2nd controller. I would say using the second controller is like using the 2nd controller in one of those mega man games for the nes (I forget which one), it is more like a built in debug feature, kinda feels like like cheating. Anyways good luck, and don't forget about NES open golf.

Good to hear your starting this again. I thought you could shoot the furthest camera on S2, this would save 20-30 seconds, I was really looking forward to that.

Perhaps he should only use it in places where it would save a WHOLE lot of time....

In case anyone wants to know: I got WIP6 working when I used TAS Plugin 0.6 for input (the graphics were still kinda funky). I still havent gotten damn.m64 to work yet tho.

I just stumbled on this and got the .m64 to work perfectly. Can't believe I never looked at this before, it's good stuff.

So what's the latest news RT? Any progress with Facility? And Tool23, If the m64 doesn't work then you could check out the .avi instead?

wow those rocked. only thing I noticed is extra shots taken with the soviet gun thingy (because I know all about guns and their names NOT) I know it's an autofire but sometimes shots are made into the ground for no reason. Besides that those were really fast, headshots took like 0.1 seconds and were perfectly aimed.

Loved the WIP. Can't believe i haven't been following this. I agree with Comicalflop though. If those shots wern't taken into the ground then you would have 100% shot accuracy at the end.

has 007 World is not enough been considered? I read that it's not as good, with an autoaim that's not beneficial, slower reload speed, slightly different gameplay, levels that are different, but that in some cases the same run/shoot mayhem remains, would a TAS of this be as good as the original? Oh, and of the AVI's Silo is my favorite... goes to show that when you sign up to work for a bad guy, apply for the scientist job with the whitecoat so that when the TASing agent comes in he doesn't shoot you in the head at blinding speed.

TWINE has the optionality of an expansion pack but its probally automatically on when Mupen is running. It would be a consisderably more difficult game in my opinion since there is a jumping element and bigger areas which mean more distant enemies and often some very dark areas. I have the funny feeling it might desync quite a bit, it would be a big task though to do.

Those shots make enough noise to get guards to open doors for me. Every shot fired has a purpose, whether or not it connects- guaranteed. As for the Facility, I'm up to the hallway right before Doak, I've been taking my time to make sure I get the lines as straight as possible, and the turns to be very tight. Since it takes awhile to properly align the joystick as such, it can take upwards of fifteen minutes for as little as 30 frames of input. I should end facility with a 52. Also, I'm trying to minimalize lookdown for entertainment purposes obviously- it doesn't save that much time, and since I'm TASing over actually playing the game, I don't need a little trick like that to get a WR or better on every stage. I'm working two jobs now, and practicing pianos 2 hours a day, so I can't quite work on this as much as I'd like. I imagine I'll have facility done by the end of the month, but I won't set a concrete deadline because it'll only encourage me to pass it by. Thanks for the good comments to some of the newer faces in the thread.

Maybe, I will play a few 2.3 stages, separately, later on to see how much time can be saved. No guarantees for now though.

Aha so it's not just itchy trigger finger. I just had to watch these vids over and over, I couldn't get enough I saw a few minutes of the SDA run with all the floor-watching and hated it, but saw this and totally loved it.

I like to see look down, then I know your going fast, when you know the levels well enough look down does not detract from the viewing enjoyment. When you pause you could switch between 2.3 and 1.2.

Lookdown has very little to no effect, especially when you can easily avoid lag situations by being able to control the outcome easily, unlike on console.

I did a few very crappy slowdown-only TAS'es on Twine a long time ago but i dont think there were that many desync problems. On the other hand the game is not very entertaining to watch really since turning speed is very slow and stuff. Though I suppose it would be pretty cool to see how low 00A can go since the wr's there are really crappy.

On levels like dam surface and streets where you can see a lot, you damn well better use look down hella because you get constant lag just from looking at the level.

lookdown only saves 1 to 2 seconds even on these large levels, and it would destroy the entertainment factor.
