For those who don't know, Google bought twitch and are implementing tons of destructive features. Twitch is pretty much useless right now unless you watch live.

It was actually finalized? I remember when Google was expressing interest, but I don't recall hearing anything since about it. Though considering they're using YouTube's flawed content ID system, it's not very surprising if they (Twitch) were bought out silently.

I'm moving to Star Cup for now. I spent 10 hours on Choco Mountain and really wasn't happy with where I was at, so I needed a change of pace. Here is Wario Stadium: http://www.twitch.tv/weatherton/c/4894985

That script is really cool. I just like your setup in general. Nice job beating the TAS record by 0"05!

I tried a bunch of crazy techniques to spin around faster and none were successful, but I did manage to chop quite a bit off the last lap with a more direct line and an AB spin off the last jump: http://www.twitch.tv/weatherton/c/4901260

I've just completed a significant update to my Kart 64 Automatic Transmission tool and plan to stream tomorrow at around 2pm EST. By popular demand I plan to spend some time TASing LR 3-lap non-sc. I hope to see you at twitch.tv/weatherton

Having just seen this impressive RTA WR, I'm wondering if there is a comparable TAS. A search of the site and looking through a few pages of google results didn't turn anything up, and I don't really have time to read 30 pages of this thread. Thanks! :)

Check out this page: http://wrvids.com/Mario%20Kart/MK64/TAS/ There aren't many time trial TASes, unfortunately.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Peach? Don't recall seeing her in a TAS of this before.

Peach, Toad and Yoshi are identical in time trials. In GP, Toad is preferable because he bounces higher off of other characters. Yoshi is the best otherwise as it's two frames faster to choose him on the menu.

A few updates I wanted to share: 1. I've nearly finished a major re-haul of my script and added an item bot thanks largely to micro500. I plan to upload and document the script soon. 2. I've begun filling in http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/N64/MarioKart64.html and hope to have a lot of TAS relevant stuff documented there within the next week or two. 3. I have a free weekend on March 14 - 15. I plan to TAS and stream quite a bit then. 4. This TAS will be completed this year.

Weatherton did some test on stream and so far with a shell you can't land on the stand (you can get to it but you fall back down before gaining control on your character) As for Time Trials, I would really like to hear your idea. Not saying it's impossible but I don't really see how you would get up there. Although since we're talking about this course, might as well link two theoretical videos Link to video Link to video Starting from the known shortcut but cutting it a lot sharper could be a good idea.

Hey, yeah, I recently streamed a couple sessions. Though the breakthrough double lap skip came while I was sharing my screen with just micro500 over Skype. I thought we were just going to debug an issue with my script but ended up making a lot of progress :) I'll be streaming more.
