I'm considering doing this game in the future (I don't have any time for it in the next couple of weeks), and I was wondering if there was any interest in seeing a run for this game. I'm also wondering if there is more interest in a single player run (improving the run (by me) that's currently published), or a 2-player run (a 2-player run will be longer than a single player run, since there are a lot more enemies you have to defeat).

I vote for 1-player run since obviously you wont be delayed (and lag) as much as in a 2-player run. The arcade game? You do mean that this is the same game as you did before right?

Atleast I would be intersted to see a new run of TMNT2. I say Go for it! I think 2-player run would be more entertaining, and that's why I myself would like to see 2-player run more than 1-player. Althou' new (and improved) 1-player run sounds also nice.
Which run should I encode next? :)

Yes, this is the official name... I named the topic this way to avoid confusion (if you go to TMNT2 in gamefaqs, you'll be redirected to TMNT3 :S)... but when I think about it, it's probably more confusing this way... I do have my own opinion on whether to do a single- or 2-player run, but I'd like to hear what others think before I'll tell it. /Edit Forgot to ask (it's pretty trivial, since all turtles are the same in their abilities)... but which turtle would you like to see beat the game?

mm... maybe Rafael. Not quite sure. But NOT Michelangelo. No specific reason for that :)

Personally, I wouldn't pick Raphael or Michaelangelo... since they are far less colorful (green) You are able to pick Leonardo 1 frame faster, but I don't think this matters that much. I do like Donatello's supermove a bit more than Leonardo's I think.

Yep, I'm voting for Raph and Leo if you're going to make 2-player run (which I prefer more). If you choose to do 1-player run, then pick either one. And...HEY, did nitsuja also TMNT2 run? Anyways, I'd like you to do 2-player run since there is already 1-player run and some change wouldn't be bad.

Leonardo can hit the sword wielding enemies twice when using the normal attack (B) without having to wait. I don't know why, but it only works with leonardo vs those types of enemies. Normally you have to wait a few frames before being able to hit the 2nd blow on the enemy, but in this situation, you don't have to wait.

I guess this answers your question Baxter and you already have a wip with him so...

Of course, i can't tell when it would be faster to do this "trick" instead of the 1 hit A+B move, so i don't know if this is usefull for a TAS... But it's good for variation, which is important is this long game.

I am pretty sure A+B is faster. Either way, I'll test it, and if it can be included without losing time, I'll do it.

I'm still interested, but I think it would be interesting if someone would complete the quadrilogy and do TMNT3.

I have decided to do a single player movie, using Leonardo. Why I'm doing a single player: - It's much easier on your brain focussing on only one turtle - The movie will be finished sooner - My previous version can be improved by a lot (I think) - If I improve my tmnt2 movie, all my published movies will be fceu movies, played at frame accuracy Why I picked Leonardo: - You are able to pick him a frame faster - He's one of the 2 turtles with the better green color - I might want to include what Foda mentioned - Most people here like to see Leonardo Don't expect anything soon, I'm pretty busy at the moment. In a few weeks I'll have more time.

The choice of turtle doesn't matter too much to me. My favorite turtle is Michaelangelo, but I tend to play as Leo.

Recently started working on this actively. I just finished the first level. The movie will be a single player Donatello run. Sorry I didn't really work on it since my previous post in this thread, but I was working on other things (such as Mega Man 5). I'm more motivated to work on this right now, than on Arkanoid... so that will have to wait for a little while (sorry). I'm not going to release any wips. The end result will look better if you see the entire movie at once, and I'm quite confident on how I am doing. Working with RAM adresses it a big plus. TASing this game is very frustrating, but I think I'll be able to finish it this time :)

So what happened to Leo?

After I played the first 10 seconds of the run, I concluded I like Donatello's moves a lot better. If he walks, his weapon looks kinda 3D, and his special also looks a little better imo.

Second level now finished :D (Note that I count levels, like you can select them at the with the level select code... so I counted the street level with Bebop as level 2, and the sewer level with Baxter Stockman is level 3. The game count those 2 levels as one stage, but some stages are very long if counted this way...)

How much time are you gaining over your Famtasia run? I am curious because your last run looked nearly optimal to me.

I really like my old Famtasia run. I can watch it over and over and I'll probably still watch it eventually after this new version if finished. Imo, the run looks pretty smooth and optimal (like you stated). This was the first TAS I ever made, long before I knew anything about luck manipulation or anything. There are also new available tools now that help greatly. In contrary to my previous run, I now (am able to) use: - a frame counter - frame advance - luck manipulation - a memory watcher - knowledge I didn't have 2 years ago I actually wanted to keep the time I'm gaining a suprise, so for those who don't want to know; don't read this small text beneath. I'm now 51 seconds faster than my previous run after beating Bebop. Level 3 starts for me at 4:19, and for my old run at 5:10 (don't draw any conclusions about the total time I'll gain, it cannot be determened out of this).
