Whoa, that's pretty cool, I hope you figure out how to duplicate it. It sounds similar to the glitch on Wonn's page, but with his glitch there weren't any places where you could warp forwards. http://kontek.net/davidwonn/nes.html#S

That must be some american slang expression I haven't heard of. I still don't understand the sentence.

Okay, so check this.. There are some messed up errors in the game and after i did the glitch from 3-1 to 1-2 and then beat level 1-2. After going inside the eagles mouth, i was warped to the next level without getting bigger and was put ontop of the first hill next to the entrance. I wanted to find out what happens if I went in the Warp Zone at the end of the level and sure enough it sent me to world 5-1 instead of the usual 4-1. If there is an error coding in the game, I would love to figure it out.

In my opinion, you should either show the glitch you're constantly talking about, or not talk about it at all.

Yeah, posting 8 posts about an issue you're supposedly "down low" about isn't exactly "down low".

I dont think I like th secrecy in this case. You are only "shooting yourself in the foot" by not posting. There are some very knowledgeable people here that could help you figure out whats going on and maybe even find some stuff that you may have overlooked.

The low down part was me glitching from world 3-1 to 3-2 and now it wont seem to do that again so there is no reason to keep it on the low down.

What the hell should I post. Tell me exactly what you guys think I should do. I have already said. 1. The glitch USE to let me go from world 3-1 to 3-2(starting me off in the subworld). Now its putting me back in world 1-2 with the picture (shown before) of it still saying world 3-[ ]. Now. I have also said that after I have done all of this, I beat the next stage and it wont let me choose a character, rather than starting me off in the state that I am in, and starting me off a little to the right and on top of the hill. After I go to the end of the stage, I use the Warp to level 4-1 and it starts me in world 5-1 instead. Do you guys want video proof of this or what?

If you were recording when it happened it would be helpful to post the video of it, yes. If not, maybe you could give a more detailed description of what you did before that caused the first glitch?

The warping from 3-1 to 1-2 is explained on Wonn's site, but I'd be really interested in seeing a vid of warping from 3-1 to 3-2.

I think it's simpler than we thought. He did the glitch warp 3-1 to 1-2 then finishes 1-2. For some reason, the game still considered you in world 3. Since he is now in 1-3, the game considered you in 3-3. So when he uses the warp, he goes to 5-1. That's my conclusion after reading some glitches at David Wonn page. I'm referring to the "Get back to the top of 1-1 or return to 1-2! " glitch. It's hard to know if that trick is useful or not. Since earlier stage are easy and not long to do.

Actually, if you scroll down a bit farther, Wonn describes the exact glitch that GuanoBowl is trying to keep on the dizzle-lizzle. Apparently if you don't take the warp in fake 1-3, it just takes you back to 3-1, which is fairly worthless. And taking the warp to 5-1 is moot, since this is supposedly a "no warps" run. But if you can figure out how to manipulate the glitch so that it takes you from 3-1 to 3-2, then that would cut like 50 seconds off the total time.

If that actually happened, you should figure out how it happened so you can use it. And maybe you should reverse its down-low status so others can help you figure it out. No doubt.

Well, i keep trying to figure out WHY it is not letting me advance and I cannot figure it out. But honestly, I did glitch to world 3-2 and I have not been able to do it since.

I thought it was short for 'download.' As in, "I'd rather like to keep it on the download for a little while," possibly referring to keeping a Torrent file seeded. Edit: But going back and reading the context it was used in... I don't know, either. Sorry!

I wasn't worrying about 'the situation', I was merely reflecting my thoughts... I'm sorry for you if you can't handle any criticism.

I believe this question was already answered, it was either "down low" or "down and low" (meaning to keep it secret). But I like the "download" interpretation more, and that is what d'l more commonly stands for on the internet... Anyway, for a trick or bug whose only possible use (as far as I can tell) would be to skip levels, it is causing a lot more discussion than I would expect on a SMB2 warpless topic... Since warpless is an artificial limitation in the first place, I don't see why a warp glitch would be acceptable in such a run where a warp non-glitch would not be acceptable.

I kind of figured the glitch wasn't really a warp. I would think the warpless limitation refers to using the actual warps (1-3 to 4-1, 3-1 to 5-1, 4-2 to 6-1, 5-3 to 7-1). It's not a glitchless run, so if a glitch gets you past a level, that's not using a warp. At least, that's the way I was thinking of it. Not that my opinion really matters.

The whole idea of a warpless run is that the viewer can actually see all the levels being played, though, so in my opinion at least, "warpless" means "no use of warping glitches", too.

Well, anyways, I'd love to figure the problem out someway or another. Cause if I was able to do it once. It can be done again. Like, what I think happened the 1st time is i was watching my old run and was doing a save state on each level to figure out where I can possibly save time. I was being dumb and saved late on world 3-1 so i already picked luigi and really wanted toad.....now what I did is I died 3 times in a row by falling and then picked toad.....From there I made it to where I could glitch it and I thought I went through a magic door(I might have not) then if i did go through the door I might have grabbed the mushroom..... Then I did the glitch and went to world 3-2..... And a warpless run is not using warps. Abusing errors in the game to where it helps you advance is not warping.

If it skips you from one level to another then you haven't completed every level, which is the idea of a warpless run. It's for those of us who want to see how quickly a game can be beaten from beginning to end, playing every level from beginning to end.
