I don't recall a place like that. Do you remember the level?
It's the end of 2-3, which admittedly makes it off-limits for non-100% runs. It also takes a few seconds to set up, although I haven't explored trying to do it in a TAS situation, so it might be loads easier to do with single-frame precision. I'll whip up a quick realtime recording of the trick. As I said before, it won't be much benefit to TAS runs, but it should nonetheless be good for full documentation. Edit: Here it is. I repeat the trick three times (since the ball resets when you go into the pots).

I don't know if it's just me, but that link didn't work. But I think I know what you're talking about. It's actually fairly easy to get stuck under the pearl while it bounces on your head, especially the ones that come out of Birdo's stomach. I didn't know you could jump through them, though. When I was recording my run, that actually happened to me a couple times, and I was forced to wait for the pearl to get off of my head before continuing. It was kind of frustrating.

Hm, that's weird, the file's there and everything, correct case and all. I zipped the file and uploaded it to the same space, and it seems to work fine. Get it here.

The instructions also confuse Birdo and Ostro though.

I just started my SMB 2 Warpless run again. I know my previous run was pretty weak and right now im about 7 frames faster than my previous in world 1-1. I finally got my laptop back and I will be working on it for a while. I need to find out what bugs are in the game more towards world 2-1 through 3-3. and also world 5. But for now, im just going to explore more of the game.

Tool-assited speedrun isn't about being a good gamer though. Its about a lot of effort and time put into making it every step perfect.

I've wondered if you can do the "walk on the ceiling" trick in 5-2. Specifically, the part where you climb up vines for 4 screens. If you vine jump, you should be able to land on the ceiling at the right of the screen. I haven't tested it to see if it goes through to the next screen, but it seems like it should. And if this is possible, then it should also be possible on a regular console. See this map to understand what I'm talking about. Or maybe this has already been done, as I haven't seen the old run.

Im thinking if there is something you can do with princess and her floating ability. You can actually go below the ground level and float for a good amount of seconds before you die. Maybe there is a glitch somewhere located there. If anyone has any ideas or wants to contribute to my run ill gladly send you my world 1-1, because its the only one i have finished so far.

Yeah, the door is actually kind of a teleporter. There is no connection between the area with the vines and the area behind the door.

Im finding out some crazy ass stuff, i can actually skip a level without warping, making the run hella faster because I wont have to fight birdo, wait for the eagles mouth to open, and the inbetween gameplay parts. Some crazy things going on. Like I said, if anyone would like to contribute with me to this craziness. Add me to msn or something and we'll fudge it up.

Skip a level without warping etc? Now you've certainly got my attention :) If this is true, then you should definitely try improving Phils run.

Why not create a demonstration movie clip of the trick and release it to the public domain, like everyone else does?

I found out some weird stuff. Earlier I was able to glitch from world 3-1 to world 3-2. Now when I'm trying to do my Run, It glitches me from 3-1 to 1-2.
